Central Huron Arrest – Details Released

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Barrie resident with impaired driving offences following an incident on July 14th, 2025, in the Municipality of Central Huron. 

Just after 3:30 a.m. on Monday, July 14th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers received a report of a vehicle stopped in a live lane of traffic on Ontario Street in Clinton. Officers observed the driver being unresponsive behind the wheel with the vehicle running and in gear. Officers needed to break the window to place the vehicle in “park” and subsequently arrested the driver for impaired operation.

The accused provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician at the Huron County OPP detachment in Clinton. Breath samples provided to police resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Ehimwenma OSA-OKUNBOR, 33 years of age from Barrie, has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – Alcohol and Drug,

–      Impaired Operation – Over 80.

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Goderich Collisions End With Arrest – Details Released

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Kitchener resident with several criminal driving offences following a series of collisions with parked cars in the Town of Goderich, on July 13th, 2025. 

Just before 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025, Huron County OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had collided with three vehicles on Cove Road in Goderich. The driver was located shortly after by police and arrested for impaired operation and dangerous driving.

The driver was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

As a result of the investigation, the accused has been charged as follows:

Andre NEMBHARD, 32 years-of-age from Kitchener has been charged with:

–      Dangerous Operation,

–      Impaired Operation – Alcohol and Drug,

–      Impaired Operation – Over 80.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Jason WICKIE From West Perth Arrested – Details Released

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a West Perth resident with a criminal driving offence following a traffic stop in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check in the Municipality of Huron East on July 4th, 2025. 

Just after 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 04, 2025, Huron County OPP officers checked a driver that entered an OPP RIDE check on Front Road at Kinburn Line in Huron East. Police spoke to the driver and discovered that they had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Jason WICKIE, 49 years-of-age from West Perth has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor Licence Control Act.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days, and the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Yash PAL Arrested After Incident At Convenience Store

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one driver after investigating a conflict at a convenience store.

On August 19, 2025, at 2:00 a.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer was flagged down by an employee at a convenience store on Wellington Street and Monck Road in Bracebridge after having a conflict with a patron. Officers located the patron in his vehicle and as a result of their investigation, charged 35-year-old Yash PAL of Hamilton, ON with Operation while Impaired- Over 80 and Novice Driver-B.A.C. above zero. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 23, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Robert NAHWEGAHBO Arrested After Driving On Walking Path – Details Released

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – One person is facing impaired-related charges after a traffic stop at Low Island Park.

On Friday, August 15, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were at Low Island Park in Little Current, when they observed a vehicle driving on the walking path. Police conducted a traffic stop, and further investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired operation.

The driver, Robert NAHWEGAHBO, 45-years-old from Calgary, Alberta, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on September 23, 2025.

20 Year Old Facing Impaired Charge #RepeatOffender

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing charges after a traffic stop resulted in an impaired arrest.

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop for a potential suspended driver in the Town of Webbwood. A Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was completed with the driver, and the driver was arrested for impaired operation as a result.

The driver, Dawn LANDRY-GIBSON, 20-years-old from Espanola, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on October 6, 2025.

27 Year Old Arrested For Impaired Driving In Fergus

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On August 18, 2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check along Orangeville Road in Fergus.

A vehicle entered the area where police then spoke with the driver. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.

John Fair, 27 years-old, of Floradale, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

As a result, a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph, on September 2, 2025.

More Impaired Drivers: Juran THANGAVELAUTHAPILLAI & Kyler RINGLET

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged two drivers with impaired driving.

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, around 8:00 p.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program near Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County. A vehicle entered the RIDE and officers spoke to the driver. During the interaction, officers suspected the driver was impaired and utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver.

The male was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Juran THANGAVELAUTHAPILLAI, age 32 of Bowmanville, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 6:45 p.m., officers received a report of a single motor vehicle collision in Wellington in Prince Edward County. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the driver of the vehicle. During the investigation, officers suspected that the driver was impaired and utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Kyler RINGLET, age 41 of Picton, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Fail to have insurance card
  • Fail to surrender licence
  • Fail to surrender permit
  • Vehicle modified – fail to apply for new permit

Both individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 3, 2025.

Drive-thru Incident Ends With Arrest In Port Elgin

Saugeen Shores Police were dispatched to a report of a report of an uncooperative customer in the drive-thru of a local restaurant in Port Elgin.

Officers arrived at the location 6 minutes later and located the vehicle still within the drive thru line. Officers attempted to speak with the driver who refused to identify herself or exit the vehicle. She was advised she was under arrest for Obstruct Police for failure to identify. The driver refused to exit the vehicle and officers were required to remove her from the driver seat.

While attempting to deal with the driver officers notes signs of impairment. Other officers observed open containers of alcohol within the vehicle. The driver was arrested for Operation while Impaired at that time.

As a result of this investigation a 60-year-old female of Chesley, On has been charged with the following offences:

– Operation while Impaired (80+)
– Obstruct Police
– Resist Arrest

Her licence has been suspended and the vehicle has been impounded.

Chiragkumar PATEL – Impaired Driving

(MARKDALE, ON) – An individual from Oakville is facing multiple charges following multiple driving complaints in Grey Highlands.

On August 19, 2025, at approximately 7:02 p.m., members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to multiple traffic complaints regarding a silver sedan travelling northbound on Highway 10 in Flesherton and Markdale. Witnesses reported the vehicle was operating at excessive speeds, making unsafe passes, and failing to maintain its lane.

Shortly after, officers located the vehicle at a gas station in Markdale. Upon arrival, police observed the vehicle driving erratically, including swerving and accelerating aggressively into traffic.

Officers attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Police later located the vehicle parked on Main Street West in Markdale.

Following an investigation, the driver was identified and placed under arrest.

Chiragkumar PATEL, 25-years-old, of Oakville, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Dangerous Operation – Criminal Code (CC)
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs – CC
  • Fail to Stop for Police – Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor – Liquor Licence and Control Act (LLCA)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 18, 2025.

GPS Gets 2 More Impaired Drivers Off The Road

Two motorists were taken off the road for impaired driving in separate incidents on Monday.

Just after 2 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop at Nottingham Street and Glasgow Street South. He noted a strong odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath, as well as obvious signs of impairment. After failing a roadside breath test she was arrested and transported to the police station, where further tests confirmed she had more than the legal amount of alcohol in her system.

A 36-year-old Guelph woman is charged with impaired driving and novice driver having alcohol in her system.

Just before 6:30 p.m. a member of the Guelph Police Traffic Services Unit was patrolling in the area of Woodlawn Road East and Victoria Road North when he observed a vehicle being driven erratically, including mounting the curb.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver arrested after registering a fail on a roadside breath test. He was transported to the police station, where further tests confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system. A 66-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving.

Both drivers had their licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days. The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to always consume alcohol and cannabis responsibly. Please don’t drive if you are going to consume alcohol or cannabis, and please ensure that you plan ahead so that you have a safe ride home. Anyone who spots a suspected impaired driver is asked to immediately call 911.

TEEPLE & TRUSCOTT Arrested Following Collisions

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people with impaired driving related charges recently.

On Sunday August 17, 2025, just before 7:00 a.m., L&A County OPP members were advised of a single vehicle collision on County Road 9 in Greater Napanee. The vehicle was located with the driver inside, and the driver was arrested.

 Kevin TEEPLE, a 55-year-old from Napanee, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drug
  • Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration
  • Dangerous operation
  • Possession of methamphetamine

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on September 9, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

 On Monday August 18, 2025, just before 6:00 p.m., L&A County OPP was called by a member of the public regarding a single vehicle collision on Maple Road in Loyalist Township. Police attended the collision scene and the driver was arrested.

 Stanley TRUSCOTT, a 61-year-old from Napanee, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80mgs of alcohol
  • Dangerous operation
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Have care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on September 16, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded.

Skateboarder Arrested For Drunk Driving – Name Released

(Red Lake, ON) Members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) engaged a male operating a OneWheel Electric Skateboard in Balmertown, Ontario.

On Friday, August 15th, 2025 at approximately 10 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on an erratic driver and an impaired driving investigation commenced. The operator was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code.

Kyle MELANSON, 36 years old of Balmertown, Ontario, was charged with:

–         Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

–         Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on September 18th, 2025. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

More Impaired Charges: MESSAM, GILL & FOTSO MBE

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three drivers with alcohol related offences.

On August 2, 2025, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Caledon OPP officers were on general patrol in the area of Dixie Road and Mayfield Road, in the Town of Caledon. Officers located a stationary vehicle in the road, facing the opposite way of traffic flow. Investigating officers conducted a traffic stop upon the vehicle and subsequently formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Following the investigation, Tamika MESSAM, 34, of Newmarket, was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

On August 3, 2025, just before 4:00 a.m., Caledon OPP officers received a report of a single vehicle collision on Dotchson Avenue, near Kennedy Road, in the Town of Caledon. Officers arrived on scene and subsequently formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Gurtej GILL, 44, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Just hours later, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Caledon OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Boston Mills Road and Airport Road, in the Town of Caledon. Officers arrived on scene and began to investigate. Shortly after, officers formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Following the investigation, Rodrigue Yvan FOTSO MBE, 25, of Scarborough, was charged with:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

All accused parties are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on August 21, 2025, to answer to their charges. The vehicles were also impounded for a period of seven days, and their driver’s licences were suspended for a period of 90 days.

The OPP remains committed to keeping our communities safe through enforcement and public education. Penalties for failure or refusal to comply with demand are similar to those imposed upon a driver charged with operation while impaired. These penalties include an immediate 90-day licence suspension, seven-day vehicle impoundment, as well as licence reinstatement fees. Additional penalties are imposed upon conviction and increase for each proceeding offence.

Barry ANDERSON Was Arrested For Impaired

(Red Lake, ON) Members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an individual after an impaired by Drug traffic investigation in Red Lake, Ontario.

On Sunday, August 17th, 2025 at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act violation. After further investigation, officers suspected the driver to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or a combination of both. A field sobriety test was conducted to which the driver performed poorly on. Further Drug Recognition Expert Tests were conducted while at the Detachment leading the officer to believe the accused was under the influence of a Central Nervous System Stimulant. The driver was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code.

Barry ANDERSON, 56 years old, of Red Lake, Ontario, was charged with:

–         Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on October 16th, 2025. The accused’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
