Noah ANDERSON – Impaired Driving

(ASPHODEL-NORWOOD TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving after investigating a vehicle in the ditch call.

On February 24, 2025, shortly after 6:00pm, Peterborough County OPP Officers were contacted about a vehicle that had gone off the road on Asphodel 3rd Line. Officers arrived on scene to find a grey pickup truck that had gone off the road and was lodged deep in snow. An individual was located in the driver’s seat and the driver’s window was open. Officers called to the individual who exited the vehicle through the window as the snow was too deep to open the door. Upon speaking with the driver, officers detected signs of impairment at which point the driver was arrested.

Noah ANDERSON (age 22) of Asphodel-Norwood Township, ON., was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on March 25, 2025.

Bradley DOELL Was Arrested – Details Released

(PEMBROKE, ON) – Three Pembroke residents are facing charges after an impaired driving investigation resulted in the seizure of suspected fentanyl and cocaine.  

On February 22, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m. members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 17 in Whitewater Region. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Paul Martin Drive in the City of Pembroke. As part of the investigation a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted, and further testing was conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer at the detachment. Approximately 100 grams of suspected cocaine was seized along with a smaller amount of suspected fentanyl.   

As a result of this investigation 47-year-old Bradley DOELL has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC), Controlled Drugs Substances Act (CDSA), and Highway Traffic Act (HTA) offences:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Operation while prohibited

·        Possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine

·        Driving while under suspension

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. 

Additionally, two passengers in the vehicle, 44-year-old Maydina GAREAU and 43-year-old Crystal GOHR are each charged with the following CDSA offence:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine

GOHR faces an additional CDSA charge of possession of a schedule I substance – fentanyl.  

All three accused individuals were released, and they are scheduled appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 1, 2025.

Thomas KIRBY: Impaired Operation

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Fergus resident with two criminal charges stemming from a two-motor vehicle collision.

On February 22, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a two motor-vehicle collision on Tower Street with Fergus.

As a result of the investigation, Thomas KIRBY, a 69-year-old of Fergus is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on March 25, 2025.

Brett DUNSBIER Was Arrested: Details Released

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On February 20, 2025, at approximately 10:38 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Durham Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Brett DUNSBIER, 29-years-old, of Brockton, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired, CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on April 9, 2025.

2 More Impaired Drivers

 (OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to two separate incidents this past Saturday morning, resulting in impaired driving charges.

 On February 22, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint, on the westbound lanes of Highway 401, in the Township of South-West Oxford.

 As a result of the investigation, Desiree LUMLEY, a 28-year-old resident of London has been charged with:

  •  Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

 The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, in Woodstock on April 1, 2025.

Approximately one hour later, at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to another traffic complaint, this time on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401, in the Township of South-West Oxford.

 As a result of the investigation, Me-Me-Keau, a 38-year-old resident of London has been charged with:

  •        Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  •       Operation While Impaired
  •       Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent
  •       Theft Under $5000
  •       Drive While Under Suspension
  •       Drive Motor Vehicle Without a Licence

 The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, in Woodstock on April 8, 2025.

Snowmobilers Arrested

(BLIND RIVER, ON)– Two snowmobile drivers charged with impaired.

On February 23, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a possible impaired snowmobile operator on John Street in the Town of Spanish.

Officers observed the suspect snowmobile traveling westbound on Front Street (also known as Highway 17) and initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Hamilton Street and Front Street. Upon speaking with the driver, police determined that alcohol had been consumed, and a subsequent arrest was made. 

While investigating this incident, another snowmobile approached and stopped directly across the highway from the officers’ location. Upon speaking with the second driver, officers determined that this individual had also consumed alcohol, leading to another arrest.

Derek VAN VLIET, 39 years-of-age from Toronto was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Thomas YOUNG, 39 years-of-age from Innisfil was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on April 3, 2025.

Both snowmachines were towed and impounded for seven days with both drivers being issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension.

Sleeping Driver Arrested For Impaired

(ENGLEHART, ON) – A person observed sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle near a school in Englehart, leads to one person being charged with impaired and drug possession.

On February 20, 2025, at approximately 8:40 a.m., members of the Englehart and Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a person who appeared to be asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle on Third Street in Englehart.

The OPP located the vehicle and the occupant at the scene. As a result of the investigation, the occupant was arrested for impaired driving and transported to detachment for further testing with the assistance of a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

Marcel WIDDIFIELD, 39 years-of-age of Kirkland Lake, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine  

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on March 4, 2025.

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving after a traffic stop in Lakeshore.

On February 20, 2025, at approximately 9:10 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on County Road 22 in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

Surya INDURTHY, 25-years-old of Windsor, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on March 5, 2025, to speak to the charges.

(TECUMSEH, ON) – One person has been charged following a single motor vehicle collision in Lakeshore.

On February 20, 2025, at approximately 7:06 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Walker Road in the Municipality of Tecumseh. 

Manjinderjit SINGH, 47-years-old of Tecumseh, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code Liquor Licence and Control Act offences:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Failure or refusal to comply with demand

• Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on February 28, 2025, to answer to the charges.

2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the span of six hours, two individuals from Orillia are facing Impaired related charges after traffic stops conducted by members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On February 19, 2025, around 4:30 pm, an officer was conducting proactive patrol around Front Street South in the City of Orillia. At that time, an alert was received by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition system (ALPR), advising the officer of a suspended driver, and a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. Speaking with the driver, the officer entered into an impaired operation investigation and issued an Approved Screening Device demand (ASD), to which the driver refused to provide a sample.

As a result of the investigation, Cody MILLS, 34-year-old from Orillia, has been charged with the following:

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand (CC),

·      Driving while under suspension (HTA), and

·      Possess more than one licence (HTA).

Later that day, around 9:15 pm, an officer was conducting proactive patrol around Victoria Street and Dunlop Street in the City of Orillia when they observed a vehicle stuck in a snowbank. The officer began speaking with the driver to see if they required assistance and entered into an impaired operation investigation due to the behaviour of the driver. The officer issued an ASD demand, and the driver provided a sample which resulted in a “Fail”. Subsequently, the driver was arrested and transported back to the Orillia Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Kelly NEWMAN, 46-year-old from Orillia, has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while impaired – 80 plus (CC).

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia at a later date.  Their driver’s licences have been suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Anawahs MIGWANS Facing Numerous Charges

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – One person is facing charges as a result of a traffic complaint.

On February 12, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint for a possible impaired driver in the Town of Little Current. It was initially reported that the driver was passed out at the wheel. A short time later, the vehicle was seen driving down Water Street in the Town of Little Current. Police located the vehicle nearby, determined that the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance, and an arrest was made.

Additionally, police seized approximately one gram of suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $150, and approximately 40 suspected ecstasy pills.

As a result, the driver, Anawahs MIGWANS, 23-years-old from M’Chigeeng First Nation, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Assault a Peace Officer – two counts
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Gore Bay on February 12, 2025, and was remanded into custody.

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving after a traffic stop in Lakeshore.

On February 16, 2025, at approximately 2:27 a.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Broadway Street in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

Hani HAMDAN, 45-years-old of Lakeshore, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on February 26, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Joseph GOUDREAU: Impaired Driving

(PLYMPTON-WYOMING, ON) – Suspicious vehicle led to an individual being arrested and charged with impaired driving.

On February 14, 2025, at approximately 1:40 a.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a suspicious vehicle on Forest Road, north of Highway 402 in Plympton-Wyoming.

Police attended the area and located the vehicle and driver. A traffic stop was initiated.

As a result of the investigation, Joseph GOUDREAU, 54-year-old of London, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

A 90-day -Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 24, 2025, in the City of Sarnia.

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 1:44 a.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on County Road 22 in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

Jeremy DECKER, 45-years-old of Lakeshore, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Driver -Fail to surrender licence

• Obstruct Plate

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on March 4, 2025, to speak to the charges.

4 More Impaired Drivers Arrested – Names Released

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid four separate impaired driving charges over a busy winter storm weekend.     

On Friday February 14, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP officers were conducting speed enforcement on Glen Miller Road, in the City of Quinte West. They stopped a vehicle for stunt driving, driving more than 100-kilometres per hour in a posted 60 zone. The investigation resulted in the driver being arrested and transported to the detachment for testing.    

Joseph LAFRANCE, 28-year-old from Quinte area, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville at a future date. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for 14 days and their licence was suspended for 90 days.

On Friday February 14, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP officers conducting traffic enforcement when they stopped a vehicle on Old Highway 2, in the City of Quinte West. Police stopped the vehicle after the cruiser’s Automated Licence Plate Recognition system detected a suspended driver. Through the officer’s investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for testing.    

Douglas KELLY, 32-year-old from Quinte area, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, at a future date. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence was suspended for 90 days.

On Saturday February 16, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP officers were dispatched to a vehicle in a ditch on Frankford Road, in the City of Quinte West. Police attended and located the vehicle and the driver. As a result of the investigation, and the driver was transported to the detachment for testing.    

Michael GAYTON, 53-year-old from Quinte area, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Resist peace officer

·      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused party were released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, at a future date. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence was suspended for 90 days.

On Saturday February 16, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP officers were dispatched to a report of a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. When police approached the vehicle and observed the driver climb into the back seat. The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for testing.    

Justine IRVINE, 43-year-old from Quinte area, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, at a future date. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence was suspended for 90 days.
