Home Invasions – Kurtis SCOUTEN Arrested

(KINGSTON, ON) – A Kingston resident has now been charged in connection with home invasions in Kingston and on Wolfe Island.

A joint investigation by the Kingston Police, the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and OPP Criminal Investigation Branch began in October 2024.

On August 22, 2024, Leeds County OPP officers responded to a home on Road 96 on Wolfe Island, where the residents had been assaulted. Then, on September 23, 2024, Kingston Police responded to a home invasion in the Frontenac Street and Brock Street area. During the two incidents, one person suffered life-threatening injuries, and three others suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

On February 11, 2025, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Lasalle Boulevard, in the east end of Kingston. One person was arrested.

Kurtis SCOUTEN, age 29, has been charged jointly under the Criminal Code by the Kingston Police and OPP with:

  • Assault with a weapon – section 267 – three counts
  • Assault – section 266
  • Aggravated assault – section 268
  • Use an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence – section 85(2)(a) – two counts
  • Break and enter to commit an indictable offence – section 348(1)(b) – two counts
  • Wearing a mask or disguise to commit an indictable offence – section 351(2) – two counts

The accused was remanded into custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston again on February 19, 2025.

The investigation by the Kingston Police and OPP is continuing.

Home Invasion – Zachery PELLETIER Facing Numerous Charges

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – Police arrest person after breaking into residence and assault.

On February 11, 2025, at approximately 12:40 a.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to a house on Milliken Road. The complainant reported a known male had broken into their room and threatened to kill them. Police arrived and the person refused to open door and threatened to kill officers. The door was breached and the person was safely arrested. The person continued the threats and assaultive behaviour towards police in a highly intoxicated state.

Zachery PELLETIER, 29-years-old, of Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence – two counts
  • Assault – two counts
  • Assault a peace officer – three counts
  • Resist peace officer
  • Utter threats – cause death or bodily harm – five counts
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Failure to comply with undertaking – two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on February 11, 2025.

Another Home Invasion Thwarted By Hero Resident #StandYourGround

 (BRADFORD, ON) – South Simcoe Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in Bradford West Gwillimbury on Monday, February 3, 2025. At approximately 9:29 a.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a residence in the Toronto Street and Hurd Street area of Bradford West Gwillimbury for report of a break and enter.

Through the investigation, it was determined that a home invasion had occurred. Four suspects arrived in a silver Kia Forte that parked in a neighbour’s driveway. The four suspects, one armed with a crowbar, entered the home by smashing two windows.  Upon entering the home, two suspects were confronted by a resident, which resulted in the suspects fleeing from the home. There were no physical injuries reported at the time of the incident.

South Simcoe Police have obtained photos of the suspects and vehicle and are releasing the following images to assist with the investigation. Photos (5) attached.

Violent Home Invasion

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with an ongoing home invasion investigation in Simcoe.

At approximately 3:47 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment, assisted by the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team and the West Region OPP Canine Unit, responded to a home invasion on Nixon Road in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

Investigators determined that a group of four to five individuals forcibly entered a residence. Once inside, they interacted with three occupants, during which one occupant was physically assaulted and sustained minor injuries.

The suspects then fled the area, with some observed departing in a white van.

The suspects, described as black and Caucasian males, were wearing face coverings and dressed in black or grey hooded sweatshirts or zip-up jackets. They were also seen carrying what appeared to be firearms and other weapons during the incident.

Around 3:54 a.m., officers located and stopped a van matching the suspect vehicle’s description on Windham Road 14 in Simcoe. The driver and passenger were taken into custody without incident.

26-year-old Trevor MCCROSSAN from Richmond Hill, Ontario, and 41-year-old Diana BUVEHALL from Kingston, Ontario, have been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence,
  • Robbery using firearm (restricted or prohibited) (three counts).

The accused individuals have been held in custody and are scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is actively conducting an ongoing investigation and is appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone who was travelling on Nixon Road around the time of the incident and observed anything suspicious, or anyone with relevant information, is urged to contact the police at 1-888-310-1122. Residents in the area are also asked to check their home surveillance systems for any footage that may assist in the investigation.

Violent Home Invasion – Suspects At Large

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a suspect in connection with a Home Invasion & Robbery within Morriston.

On Friday, January 31, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Wellington County OPP responded to an emergency 9-1-1 call for a home invasion at a residence in the vicinity of Church Street and Whitcombe Way.

It was determined that three individuals forcefully entered a residence and confronted the occupants inside. One occupant received minor injuries following an altercation with the suspects. The suspects took the homeowner’s vehicle and fled the scene.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the Mississauga Detachment OPP located the stolen vehicle in a parking lot near Highway 401 and James Snow Parkway in the Town of Milton.

OPP arrested one suspect with the assistance of Halton Regional Police and the Peel Regional Police Canine Unit. Investigators recovered a firearm at the scene.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Jesse MLYNARSKI, 24-year-old of Toronto is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Disguise with intent
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Robbery using firearm (Restricted or Prohibited)
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

At this time, two other suspects are currently outstanding, and the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit is asking for public assistance by checking their CCTV / vehicle dash-cam footage in the following surrounding areas, in the event they locate the two other suspects involved in this investigation:

Deadly Home Invasion Attempt – 2 Dead #TCOB #StandYourGround

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an incident at a residence in South Glengarry Township that left two people deceased.

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) OPP responded to an incident that began as a home invasion at a residence on Old Highway 2, where two people suffered gunshot wounds. The residents of the home were not injured in the incident.

When officers arrived, two men were located deceased in the residence. A third individual had fled the scene prior to police arrival. An extensive search of the area was conducted by the OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit and OPP Canine Unit. It is believed the individual may have left the area.

Two people were taken into custody at the scene and a firearm was seized.

There is no threat to public safety as the incident is believed to be targeted. Residents of the area should expect to see a large police presence for the ongoing investigation.

The investigation is being conducted by members of the SD&G OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Violent Home Invasion – Preston GRATTON Arrested

(UNINCORPORATED TERRITORYON) – Police arrested and charged one person after responding to a family dispute

On January 23, 2025, at approximately 4:20 p.m., the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a family dispute on Ministic Lake Road, Unincorporated Territory, north of Sudbury.

A family member attended the property and entered the residence by force, then assaulted an individual with a handheld tool. The victim received minor injuries and was transported to the local hospital by Emergency Medical Services.

As a result of the investigation, Preston GRATTON, 26 years-of-age, from Copper Cliff, was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
  • Assault with a weapon – two counts
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 24, 2025, in Sudbury.

Violent Home Invasion – Suspects At Large

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a home invasion which left one person with serious injuries.

The incident took place on January 21, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Pembroke Street West in Pembroke. Three men broke into the home and the victim was assaulted with blunt objects. The victim was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to an Ottawa-area trauma centre with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. It is believed this was a targeted incident and there is no risk to the general public.

Police are seeking assistance from the public to help identity three persons of interest. One individual was wearing light blue pants, a plaid hooded jacket, and carrying a black and yellow tool bag. A second individual was wearing a black hoodie and a tan vest. The third person was wearing black pants, a black hoodie and carrying a black and grey Champion brand backpack. All three individuals were wearing ski masks.        

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Renfrew County Crime Unit. Seniors Bound, Beaten & Robbed By Home Invaders

The Windsor Police Service is seeking five suspects following a home invasion in east Windsor. 

Shortly after 11 p.m. on January 13, 2025, four suspects forced their way into a residence in the 2500 block of Luxury Avenue. One stood outside. They assaulted, bound, and threatened an 87-year-old man and 75-year-old woman who were home at the time. The suspects then stole personal items, money, and a sports utility vehicle, which was later recovered in the area of Firgrove Drive and Monticello Street. 

Both victims sustained non-life-threatening physical injuries.

The first suspect is described as a female, approximately 20-30 years old, wearing a black jacket. 

The second suspect is described as a male, approximately 20-30 years old, wearing a black jacket and red pants.

The third suspect is described as a male, approximately 20-30 years old, 6’1” tall, wearing a tan sweatshirt with black sweatpants.

The fourth and fifth suspects are described as males, approximately 20-30 years old, wearing white hoodies and black pants. 

All the suspects wore face coverings. 

Investigators urge everyone who lives in the area to check their dash-cam or surveillance footage, specifically between the hours of 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. on January 13, for evidence related to this case.

Home Invasion

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested and charged a male in connection with a series of criminal offences involving forcible confinement and robbery with a firearm.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, a male victim was bound and restrained at a residence in Mississauga and a demand for money was made. The male attended the victim’s home obtained various bank cards and later forced the victim to withdraw a large sum of money from a financial institution before being released unharmed.

On Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at approximately 4:00 a.m., the male re-attended the victim’s home armed with a handgun and confronted a second victim forcing his way in. During this confrontation, miscellaneous items were stolen from the residence.

On Friday, January 3, 2025, investigators with the assistance of our Tactical Unit executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence in Mississauga where the following items were seized:

  • Sig Sauer p320 Firearm
  • Three Prohibited magazines
  • Ammunition hidden in a furnace
  • Pellet Gun
  • Identification belonging to the victim

Darko Jugova 35-year-old man from Mississauga who is currently on bail release was arrested, and found to have a firearm. He was charged with the following offences:

  • Forcible Confinement
  • Robbery
  • Robbery with a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device
  • Break and Enter
  • Extortion

He was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Another Home Invasion

The Halton Regional Police Service is searching for four suspects after an armed home invasion in Milton.

On January 12, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m. three suspects broke into a home in the area of Walnut Landing and Proud Drive by forcing open the front door of the residence.

The suspects confronted an adult male and held him at gunpoint while they searched the home for valuables. The suspects then stole various clothing and jewelry items and fled in a grey 4 door hatchback.

No physical injuries were sustained.

The three suspects that were observed are described as male of average height and thin build. All wearing face coverings.

Home Invasion – One Shot – Susupects At Large & Possibly Wounded


Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking multiple suspects after shots were fired during a home invasion in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, January 6, 2025, at 3:49 a.m., police responded to a home invasion at a residence in the area of Sir Sanford Fleming Way and Grand Turk Avenue. Once on scene, officers learned that multiple suspects broke through the rear glass door and at least one suspect was armed with a handgun. When the residents were confronted, a struggle ensued and the gun was discharged.

A victim was located suffering from a gunshot wound and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other residents were injured. However, investigators believe one of the suspects may have been injured during the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

During the struggle, the suspects dropped the handgun and fled in a dark-coloured sport utility vehicle (SUV). The gun was recovered at the scene.

The suspects remain outstanding.

Suspect #1: male, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5’10” with a skinny build, wearing a black hooded sweater, black balaclava and carrying a handgun with an extended magazine.

Suspect #2: male, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5’8” with a skinny build, wearing a balaclava with unknown clothing.

Suspect #3 and #4: male, 25 to 30 years old, no description available.

Suspect #5: no description available.

Home Invasion – 2 Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges against a second person in connection to last Thursday’s home invasion investigation.

On January 2, 2025, shortly after 5:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to a private residence on Ann McKee Street in Caledon East for a report of a home invasion in progress. 

The suspect was operating a black Jeep Wrangler. Investigators are looking for surveillance or dashcam footage of the area on January 2, 2025, between the hours of 5:15 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. It is believed that this was a targeted incident and that there is no imminent threat to public safety.

Later that same day, the black Jeep Wrangler was located, and a suspect was arrested. The Caledon Community Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Caledon Major Crime Unit and OPP Centre Region Canine, executed a search warrant on both the suspect vehicle and residence. A handgun, ammunition, and a stolen Porsche were among the seized property.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Abhishek SHUKHAND, 26, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

• Criminal harassment – threatening conduct

• Unlawfully in dwelling house

• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

• Possession property obtained by crime over $5000

• Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

• Tampering with serial number of a firearms

As part of the investigation, a second suspect was identified. On January 5, 2025, Abhinav BHARDWAJ, 25, of Caledon, was arrested and charged with:

• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

• Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

• Tampering with serial number of a firearms

Both accused were held for a Bail Hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

Home Invasion – David Kaczmarek Arrested Again!

On January 1st, 2025 at approximately 10:00 pm, an individual entered onto a residential property located in the 800 block of Maxwell Street, in the City of Sarnia.  This individual proceeded to the front door of the residence and knocked on the door.  The male then began attempting to open the door handle.

The homeowner who heard the knocking, and the door handle being adjusted, proceeded to open the door to see who was outside.

The male then proceeded to attempt to force his way into the home.  The homeowner, who was frightened by this action, was successful in closing the door.  The male then left the area on foot.

A member of the Sarnia Police Service, Community Response Division, who was patrolling the area in response to the call, located the male and placed him under arrest.

David Kaczmarek (39 years of age) is currently charged with the following offences in relation to this call:

  • Break and Enter
  • Fail to Comply with a Probation Order (2 counts)

David Kaczmarek was held by the Sarnia Police for a bail hearing which will occur on today’s date.

The Sarnia Police ask that residents consider the following information to ensure their safety.

  • Keep doors, windows and garages locked at all times, even when you are home.
  • Use exterior lighting and motion-activated lights during nighttime hours.
  • Consider installing a doorbell camera or a home security system.
  • Trust your instincts – If something feels off, do not open the door and call 911.
  • Any visits at unexpected times, unusual hours, or providing unfamiliar or vague reasons for their visit should be deemed suspicious.
  • Report Suspicious Activity – If a person refuses to leave your property, or if you see someone loitering or checking doors in the area, call 911.
