Fatal E-Bike Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – One person has died as a result of a collision that occurred in the Township of Perth East.

On May 15, 2025 around 10:00 p.m. the Perth County OPP were called to a collision involving an e-bike on Perth Line 42 that lost control. The lone occupant of the e-bike, a 30-year-old individual from the Township of Perth East, was transported by air ambulance to a local trauma centre where they later succumbed to their injuries.

This investigation is ongoing. One Dead In Workplace Incident, One Hospitalized

(BROCKTON, ON) – On May 23, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Bruce County Paramedic Services, and Brockton Fire and Emergency Services attended an address along Concession 6 of Greenock for a workplace incident.

Police attended the scene and discovered that an individual was trapped under a concrete wall.

As a result of the incident, a 37-year-old resident of Hanover was pronounced deceased. Additionally, a 35-year-old resident of Arran-Elderslie was injured and transported to a London area trauma centre.

The Ministry of Labour (MOL) has been notified and will continue the investigation.

Fatal Collision

(BELLEVILLE, ON) – The Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to investigate a fatal collision that occurred on Highway 37 in the City of Belleville.

Highway 37 was closed between Denyes Road and Hoskin Road following a collision between a pickup truck and a car just prior to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

Two southbound vehicles were attempting to overtake another southbound vehicle. The passing vehicles made contact, and both drivers lost control of their vehicles. The car left the road and entered the ditch.

The driver of the was rushed by Hastings-Quinte EMS to a local hospital, where the 85-year-old woman from Quinte West was pronounced deceased.

Central Hastings OPP continues to investigate the collision, in conjunction with OPP Collision Reconstructionists and other members of the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.

Death In Red Lake – Details Released

(RED LAKE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a suspicious death in the Municipality of Red Lake.

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, members of the Red Lake OPP Detachment began investigating an incident that led to one individual being taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the individual was pronounced deceased in hospital. 

The deceased has been identified as Myrna MASON, 40 years old, of Red Lake.

This investigation is being led by the OPP North West Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.

Fatal Collision

(GOULAIS RIVER, ON) – The Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing their investigation into a fatal collision that occurred in Goulais River.

On May 19, 2025, at approximately 6:39 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie OPP responded to a serious single-vehicle collision on Four Seasons Drive. A 31-year-old person from Goulais River was confirmed deceased at the scene, as a result of the collision.

Members of the North East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team are assisting with the investigation.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal motorcycle (MC) incident that occurred on Monday May 19, 2025, in the Township of Oro-Medonte.

On May 19, 2025, just before 1:27 p.m., Orillia OPP, Simcoe County Paramedic Service and Township of Oro-Medonte Fire, were dispatched to Lakeshore Road East, Oro-Medonte Township for a report of an individual on a motorcycle that had struck two vehicles. The individual was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The deceased has been identified as a 64-year-old male of Oro-Medonte Township.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene and are assisting with the investigation.

95 Year Old Found Deceased Following Fire

(SOUTH GLENGARRY, ON) – The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a residential fire.

On Monday, May 19, 2025, shortly after 11:00 p.m., officers, along with the South Glengarry Fire Department, responded to a residential fire on Fourth Line Road in South Glengarry Township. The home was fully engulfed when first responders arrived.    

A 73-year-old male was able to escape with minor injuries. A 95-year-old female was located deceased inside the residence.

The fire remains under investigation by the SD&G OPP Crime Unit and the office of the Ontario Fire Marshal. The OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit is assisting.

Human Remains Located

(GANANOQUE, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after human remains were located on an island on the St. Lawrence River.

On Monday, May 19, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Leeds OPP responded to the island near Gananoque when an individual reported making the discovery.

The identity of the deceased has not been determined, and it is not known how long the individual has been deceased. A postmortem examination will be conducted.

The OPP does not believe there is any indication of a risk to public safety.

The Leeds County OPP Crime Unit is investigating, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. The OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit is assisting.

Body Located In Water

(CLARENCE-ROCKLAND, ON) – Police are investigating the discovery of a deceased person in the Ottawa River in the Clarence-Rockland area.

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers from the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports that a body had been located in the water, offshore from the Dallaire Street area.

While there is no indication of any threat to public safety, residents may notice an increased police presence in the vicinity as the investigation continues.

At this stage of the investigation, information regarding the individual’s identity is not yet available. Investigators are working to determine who the person was.

The Russell County Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by the OPP Forensic Identification Services.

ALERT: 40 Year Old Abducted, Assaulted & Now Deceased Suspects At Large

(GUELPH, ON) – Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying five suspects connected to the abduction and death of a 40-year-old male in the City of Guelph.

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving two vehicles, southbound on Hanlon Parkway, north of Stone Road. One person with life-threatening injuries was located at the scene and transported to the hospital by ambulance where they were pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as a 40-year-old male from Cambridge.

Upon further investigation, police learned that the victim was assaulted, kidnapped and abducted from a residence on Fife Road by five suspects who fled in two different vehicles. The first vehicle is described as a grey 2010 Toyota Venza Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), with Ontario licence plate CVBX 602. Police are seeking public assistance to locate the second vehicle, described as a white 2013 Dodge RAM pickup truck with Ontario licence plate BZ 85153. Photos of the suspect vehicles are attached.

Police believe this is an isolated incident. The Wellington County Crime Unit is continuing the investigation with the Guelph Police Service, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. 

Police are asking residents and businesses in the area to review their security camera footage and share any relevant images or videos with the OPP. Drivers who were in the area at the time are also asked to check their dash cams for any footage that may show the collision or suspect vehicles.

Human Remains Found

(TYENDINAGA MOHAWK TERRITORY, ON) – Police are investigating the discovery of human remains in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, shortly before 3:00 p.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the discovery of human remains at a location near Highway 49, between Old Highway 2 and Lower Slash Road.

The remains appear to have been there for an extended period of time.

The investigation is in the initial stages, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

There is believed to be no risk to public safety, but the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.

Death In Greenstone

(GREENSTONE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a death in the Municipality of Greenstone. 

On Thursday, May 15, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., members of the Greenstone OPP and the Superior North Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of a medical emergency. One individual was transported to the hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS) in Toronto.

The OPP North West Crime Unit is investigating, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the OFPS. Assistance is also being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.

On May 13, 2025 the Perth County OPP charged 19-year-old, North Perth resident, Joseph WEBER with the following offence under the Highway Traffic Act:

  • Careless Driving Causing Death

WEBER is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 24, 2025.

One Dead – Gursewak SINGH Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Charges have now been laid in connection with a fatal collision in the Greater Napanee area.

On September 18, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers from Lennox and Addington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Napanee Fire and Lennox and Addington Paramedic Services responded to a five-vehicle collision on Highway 401 between County Road 5 and Switzerville Road overpass. Two transport trucks and three passenger vehicles were involved.

One person was confirmed deceased at the scene. Other people were transported to the hospital with varying degrees of injuries.

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, following an extensive investigation, Gursewak SINGH, a 25-year-old from Brantford was arrested and charged with:

  • Dangerous operation causing death
  • Dangerous operation causing bodily harm – two counts

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on June 3, 2025.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Chatham-Kent Detachment, are appealing to the public for further information about a collision investigation occurring on Communication Road near Fairview Line, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

On May 12, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a collision occurred involving a motorcycle and passenger vehicle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased as a result of the collision.

Investigators of Elgin OPP would like to speak anyone who may have observed these vehicles prior to the collision, who observed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the collision.
