Another Fatal Collision

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in South-West Oxford.

At approximately 6:52 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, officers from the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Oxford County Paramedic Services and South-West Oxford Fire and Emergency Services, responded to a collision between a sedan and a transport truck at the intersection of Culloden Line and Mount Elgin Road in South-West Oxford.

As a result, the driver of the sedan, a 30-year-old from Strathroy, Ontario, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. The sole passenger was taken to a trauma centre with injuries that have yet to be determined. The transport truck driver was not injured.

Culloden Line between Ebenezer Road and Daniel Road, as well as Mount Elgin Road between Pigram Line and Dereham Line, were closed for several hours to allow for the investigation. Both roadways have since reopened.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was in the area of Mount Elgin Road and Culloden Line and witnessed the collision, or has information that may assist, to contact the Oxford County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

2 Dead Following Collision

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 in Gravenhurst on August 5, 2025.

On August 5, 2025 at 6:45 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers along with Muskoka EMS and Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to 9-1-1 calls from members of the public about a two vehicle collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 near Narrows Road in Gravenhurst. Officers attended and due to the position of the vehicles and nature of the injuries, closed Muskoka Road 169 to traffic in that area.

The driver of one of the involved vehicles, a 50-year-old Gravenhurst man, was transported to hospital, however life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and he succumbed to his injuries. The second vehicle had two occupants; the driver was taken to hospital, where he was further transported by air to a Toronto hospital with life-altering injuries. The second occupant, a 61-year-old Muskoka Lakes Township man, was pronounced deceased at the collision scene.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Hwy 89 Fatal Hit & Run

(INNISFIL, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking a potential witness and has released the photo of the witness vehicle in relation to a fatal fail-to-remain collision on Highway 89 in the Town of Innisfil. 

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, shortly after 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a deceased female located on the shoulder of Highway 89 near 5th Side Road. The deceased was identified as a 35-year-old from Richmond Hill.

The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was walking along Highway 89 when she was struck by a blue passenger vehicle travelling eastbound shortly after 2:00 a.m. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene. The vehicle has since been located and investigators are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the driver.

Investigators have also identified a white sport utility vehicle that was seen travelling closely behind the suspect vehicle at the time of the collision. Police believe the driver may have witnessed the incident and are seeking to speak with them regarding any information they may have.

As part of the investigation, Highway 89 was temporarily closed between King Street and 5th Side Road as members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team assisted with the investigation. The roadway has since reopened.

The Nottawasaga OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.

3 Dead Following Collision

(PICKERING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 7 near Concession Road 6 in Pickering. The incident, which involved two sport utility vehicles (SUVs), resulted in three fatalities and two individuals sustaining life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, members of the Toronto Detachment of the OPP responded to a head-on collision between an eastbound and a westbound SUV.  The lone occupant of the eastbound vehicle, an 82-year-old resident of Port Perry, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two passengers in the westbound SUV, a 63-year-old from Markham and a 68-year-old from Scarborough, were also pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 64-year-old from Markham, and a third passenger, a 70-year-old from Richmond Hill, were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team, Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist, attended the scene to assist with the investigation, along with Pickering Fire Services and Durham Paramedic Services.

Fatal Pedestrian Vs Tree Collision

(MISSISSIPPI MILLS TWP., ON) – A woman, struck by a large section of falling tree in Almonte, has died from her injuries.

On Tuesday, July 8, 20205, shortly before 8:30 a.m., members of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and other first responders were called to the intersection of Ann and Church Streets.

A 34-year-old woman from Mississippi Mills Township was walking in the intersection when she was hit by the falling tree.

The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition.

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, the OPP was notified that the victim had died from the injuries sustained in the incident.

The investigation is continuing, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision – Hwy 7

(FRONTENAC, ON) – The driver of a motorcycle has died from their injuries following a collision on Highway 7 between Kaladar and Sharbot Lake.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., members of the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Highway 7 near Pleasant Hill Lane. No other vehicles were involved.

The 71-year-old male from the Ottawa area was transported to hospital but died from his injuries.

Collision Reconstructionists with the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team (TIME) were at the scene for the investigation.

Highway 7 was closed for several hours between Arden Road and Mountain Grove Road for the collision investigation but has since reopened.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision On Hwy 11

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a motorcycle collision that occurred on Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst this afternoon.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, at 3:15 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers, along with Muskoka EMS and Gravenhurst Fire Department responded to a collision that occurred on Highway 11 North, just north of Muskoka Road 169 in Gravenhurst involving a motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle, a 51-year-old man from Niagara-on-the-Lake, was ejected and unfortunately did not survive the collision.

Highway 11 North between Muskoka Road 169 and Pinedale Road is closed to allow the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team to assist with the ongoing investigation. The closure is expected to be in place for several hours.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision that occurred in the Wilsonville area.

At approximately 6:38 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services and the Norfolk County Fire Department, responded to a collision involving a motorcycle on Indian Line near Wilsonville.

The investigation determined that the motorcycle was travelling along Indian Line when it left the roadway, causing the operator to sustain serious, life-threatening injuries. The individual, a 43-year-old from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Indian Line was closed for several hours between County Line and Cemetery Road; however, it has since reopened.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was travelling on Indian Line and witnessed the collision – or has any relevant information – to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – A motorcycle rider has died from their injuries following a collision in South Glengarry Township.

On Sunday, July 6, 2025, shortly before 9:00 p.m., members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene on County Road 2 near Brodeur Road in the Camerons Point area.

A motorcycle had left the road, and the rider was found in the ditch with serious injuries. The 23-year-old male from Quebec was transported to hospital by Cornwall SDG Paramedics and was then transferred to a regional trauma centre.

Witnesses have indicated that a car, described as a black Honda Civic or Accord, had been seen being driven dangerously in the area at the time of the crash. It’s not known if this vehicle was involved in the collision.

Investigators want to hear from witnesses or anyone with potentially relevant dashcam video, who has not spoken to officers. Another Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(LANSDOWNE, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal collision on Highway 401 in the westbound direction, between Mallorytown and Lansdowne.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Leeds OPP received reports that an occupant who had exited their parked vehicle on the shoulder of Highway 401 was struck and killed by a moving vehicle.

As a result of the severity of the collision, the East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Unit (TIME) attended the scene. This includes the OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TCI), and an OPP Collision Reconstructionist.

The OPP Forensics Identification Services have also been engaged and are assisting with the investigation, which is now being conducted in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.

The deceased was identified. Their identity will not be released to safeguard the privacy of the grieving family. A postmortem examination has been ordered and will be conducted in the near future.

The highway remained closed for several hours, allowing for a thorough and complete investigation.

Another Fatal Collision

(SHELBURNE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision on Highway 10 in Shelburne.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the OPP responded to a collision on Highway 10, between Highway 89 and 30 Side Road, involving two SUVs.

As a result, the driver of one of the SUVs, a 55-year-old from Mississauga, is deceased. Three others were taken to hospital with minor and serious injuries.

Dufferin County Paramedic Service, Shelburne and District Fire Department, the Ministry of Transportation, and OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

Fatal Collision

(WHEATLEY, ON) – One individual is deceased following a collision in Wheatley.

On June 27, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m., members of the Leamington Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Chatham-Kent Fire Department, responded to a single-vehicle collision on Erie Street South in the Municipality of Leamington.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 62-year-old from Leamington, was transported to local hospital with life-threatening injuries. On June 28, 2025, the individual succumbed to their injuries.

Erie Street South remained closed for approximately five hours between Hickson Road and Deer Run Road and has since reopened.

Members of the Essex County OPP and the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team continue to investigate the collision.

One Dead, Michel DENAULT-CHARTRAND Charged

(SOUTH STORMONT TWP, ON) – The driver of a car, involved in a fatal collision with a motorcycle last fall, northwest of Winchester, is facing charges.

The crash, involving a car and motorcycle, happened on Friday, September 13, 2024, shortly after 6:00 a.m., on Bank Street/County Road 31 near Cloverdale Road. Both vehicles were northbound at the time.

The motorcycle rider, a 31-year-old man from Winchester, was transported to a local hospital and then transported by Air ORNGE to a regional trauma centre. The victim was pronounced deceased in hospital shortly before 6:00 p.m. that evening. The driver of the car was not physically injured.

AS a result of the investigation, Michel DENAULT-CHARTRAND, age 35 of Brinston, has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on September 2, 2025.

Fatal Collision In Bluewater

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A two-vehicle collision in the Municipality of Bluewater has claimed the life of a Bluewater resident. 

Just before 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County Paramedic Services, and South Huron Fire Department responded to a collision on London Road near Hurondale Road in Bluewater.

Upon arrival, emergency services located the involved vehicles, a sport utility vehicle and a passenger car, both heavily damaged. The lone driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second driver was seriously injured and transported by air ambulance to a London Hospital. Neither vehicle had passengers on board.

The deceased is a 57-year-old resident of Bluewater. 

The cause of the collision is being investigated. Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team were at the scene to assist with the collision investigation. London Road was closed for the investigation and has since been re-opened.

Fatal Collision Closed Hwy 69

(ARCHIPELAGO, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles where one person has died.

On June 11, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the West Parry Sound OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a commercial motor vehicle and a passenger vehicle on Highway 69 in The Township of the Archipelago.

The deceased has been identified as a 69-year-old from the Ottawa area.

The investigation is on-going with the assistance of the OPP’s North East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) Team, The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigator (TCI) and Reconstructionist.

The Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario – Ontario Forensic pathology Service (OCCO-OFPS) is assisting, and a post-mortem examination will take place at a later time.

Highway 69 was closed for several hours but has since re-opened.
