Manpreet CHADHA – Drunk Driving

(MELANCTHON, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) work extremely hard to keep the roads safe in Dufferin County. Officers have removed and charged a driver with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On July 27, 2024, just before 7:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in the area of County Road 124 in the Township of Melancthon. Officers located the vehicle and were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

As a result, Manpreet CHADHA, 47-year-old male, from North York has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville to answer to the charges. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and the vehicle was impounded.

Stephen PARADIS – Drunk Driving, Etc.

(SABLES-SPANISH RIVERS TOWNSHIP, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged for impaired driving.

On July 29, 2024, shortly before 9:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residence on Pleasant Valley Road to speak with an individual regarding an unrelated matter. While at the residence, police observed this individual drive an all-terrain vehicle from Pleasant Valley Road up their driveway to where police stood outside of the residence.

Upon speaking with the driver, police were able to determine the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Stephen PARADIS, 61-years-old from Sables-Spanish Rivers Township has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Refusal to comply with demand
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order
  • Fail to securely fasten helmet chin strap
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Drive motor vehicle, no current validated permit
  • Drive motor vehicle, no plates
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on September 9, 2024.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the all-terrain vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Nithin NAGULAPALLI – Drunk Driving, Etc.

(LONDON, ON) – Driver facing numerous charges as a result of OPP RIDE Program.

On July 28, 2024, at 1:20 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in the Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at Wellington Road in the City of London.

A vehicle entered the program at a high rate of speed, nearly striking officers who were on foot at the program.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was placed under arrest.

The driver, Nithin NAGULAPALLI, a 22-year-old of Mississauga, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, Liquor Licence Control Act and Cannabis Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

·      Drive – hand held communication device

·      Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt

·      Possess more than one licence

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on September 18, 2024, to speak to the charges.

SHERPARTAP SINGH – Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver involved in a two-vehicle collision with impaired operation.

On July 26, 2024, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Caledon OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Mayfield Road, near McLaughlin Road, in the Town of Caledon. Minor injuries were reported. During the investigation, officers formed grounds that one of the drivers’ ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

As a result of the investigation, SHERPARTAP SINGH, 25, of Brantford, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on August 15, 2024, to answer to the charge. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

Citizen Charged After Police Obtain Medical Records

(KINCARDINE, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made two arrests following a lengthy investigation in the Municipality of Kincardine.

On December 18, 2021, on Albert Road in the Municipality of Kincardine, police received a call for service regarding a stolen motor vehicle. While on patrol, police observed the vehicle abandoned, heavily damaged and involved in a motor vehicle collision. A warrant was sought and granted for the forensic examination of the motor vehicle. A driver was identified by police and a warrant for medical records was granted. As a result of the investigation, two individuals were charged.

Drew LYNCH, 29-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was arrested on July 27, 2024, and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs.

Stephane LYNCH, 50-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was arrested on July 27, 2024, and charged with:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The individuals will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Stephen BOYLE – Drunk Driving

(ALMAGUIN HIGHLANDS, ON) – The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located an impaired boater during marine patrol on Lake Cecebe.

On July 28, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers conducting general marine patrol on Lake Cecebe stopped a vessel for a routine inspection. Through investigation, a lone operator of the vessel was charged. 

Stephen BOYLE, 61 years-of-age of Ryerson Township was charged with

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge at a later date.

Dieter MADER – Drunk Driving

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On July 27, 2024, at 11:49 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report a vehicle swerving along Bruce Road 3, in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie. The driver left the roadway and was involved in a single motor vehicle collision.

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Dieter MADER, 22-years-old, from Brantford was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Lori CHABOYER – Drunk Driving

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On July 26th, 2024 at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program along Highway 591 near Island Lake Road, outside the City of Thunder Bay.

Through the R.I.D.E. program, it was determined that one of the driver’s had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Lori CHABOYER, 63-years-old, of Thunder Bay, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while impaired – Alcohol and drugs;
  • Dangerous operation;
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. (Blood Alcohol Concentration) above zero;
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on September 4th, 2024.

Hayden GAGNON – Drunk Driving

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – A traffic stop in Kapuskasing for excessive smoke, led to the driver being charged for impaired driving.

On July 19, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop in a parking lot on Riverside Drive in Kapuskasing, on a pickup truck that was generating a large amount of black exhaust smoke.

Upon speaking with the driver, police determined that they had been consuming an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the Kapuskasing detachment for further testing. 

As a result of the investigation, Hayden GAGNON, 21 years of age of Smooth Rock Falls, was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

·        Unreasonable smoke

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 9, 2024, in Kapuskasing. The accused was also issued an additional 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Judy BELLEFEUILLE – Drunk Driving

(SERVOS TOWNSHIP, ON) – A driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving after police conducted a traffic stop with a wrong way vehicle.

On July 25, 2024, shortly before 7:00 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle travelling north bound in the south bound lanes on Highway 69, Servos Township, south of Sudbury.

Police were able to safely stop the vehicle and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Judy BELLEFEUILLE, 42 years-of-age, from French River, was charged with, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), operation while impaired – alcohol and dangerous operation.

The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 4, 2024, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jacob MASSECAR – Drunk Driving, Firearm, Etc.

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged following an investigation into an impaired driving incident in Simcoe.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment was on patrol when a vehicle near the intersection of Queen Street North and Queensway West in Simcoe, Norfolk County, drew their attention.

After stopping the vehicle and conducting a roadside sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

During a search of the vehicle, a replica firearm was discovered and seized.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 19-year-old Jacob MASSECAR of Norfolk County:

  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt,
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero,
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Paul MOODY – Drunk Driving

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid Criminal charges after responding to a traffic complaint from a community member near Hwy 12 and Division Rd in the Township of Oro-Medonte. Police received information that a White Ford 150 was swerving all over the road, hitting a reflector signs in the process. After patrolling the area police were able to locate a truck matching that description at Prices Corner Gas Bar. Officers entered into an impaired driving investigation placing a male driver under arrest.

Paul MOODY, 38-year-old of New Tecumseth, ON was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Dangerous Operation

In addition to the charges, the driver received a 30-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 14-days.

The Orillia Detachment would like to remind the public that drivers and other road users can significantly contribute to safer roads by avoiding taking unnecessary risks and complying with all traffic laws.

Angel NEDIN – Drunk Driving

(KIINGSVILLE, ON) – Driver charged with impaired operation after vehicle leaves road and enters ditch.

On July 25, 2024, at 8:53 p.m., members of the Kingsville detachment Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Road 6 West, Town of Kingsville.

The vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

As a result, Angel NEDIN, a 31-year-old of Amherstburg, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: 

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 8, 2024.

Maikayla BURT – Drunk Driving

(GREENSTONE, ON) – Impaired operation charges have been laid following a traffic stop.

On July 19, 2024, just before 12:30 a.m., members of the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for a traffic violation on Main Street in the Municipality of Greenstone.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Maikayla BURT, 25-years-old, of Hannon, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greenstone on August 15, 2024.

Eric Kettle – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On July 24th at approximately 2:00 p.m., Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint for a possible impaired driver in Kinmount. Officers located the vehicle traveling westbound on Crego Street.

As a result of the traffic stop, the driver, 65-year-old, Eric Kettle from Kinmount was arrested and charged with

–            Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80plus)

The accused received a 90-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released from custody with conditions and will appear in court at a future date.
