Douglas LAMBERT – Drunk Driving

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – On October 15, 2024, at approximately 1:45 p.m., the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver on Highway 3, Cayuga.

The investigation determined that police located a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road and attempted to wake the driver. 

As a result of the investigation, 58-year-old Douglas LAMBERT of Cayuga has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on November 5, 2024.

Juan Andres CRUZ – Drunk Driving

(SPRINGWATER, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired driving after responding to a two-vehicle collision in Springwater Township.

On October 22, 2024, at 12:08 p.m., the Huronia West OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11, just north of the Highway 400 split, in the Southbound lanes of Highway 11. A white pick-up truck crashed into an MTO crash truck that was stationary with workers working in the area. No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.

Officers were led to an impaired driving investigation, and the driver of the pickup truck registered over the legal limit.

As a result, Juan Andres CRUZ, 35-year-old of Etobicoke, has been arrested and criminally charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on November 19, 2024.

Jason MCLEOD Was Arrested

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police located and arrested an impaired driver while on patrol in Norwich Township.

On Saturday October 19, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol in Norwich Township when they encountered an impaired driver on Mall Road.

Jason MCLEOD, a 45 years-of-age resident of Guelph-Eramosa Township, was charged with the following charges:

·                Drive While Under Suspension

·                Operation While Prohibited (two counts)

·                Operation While Impaired

·                Operation While Impaired -Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Woodstock on December 2, 2024.

Arlene MARENTETTE – Drunk Driving

(LAKESHORE, ON) – On October 19, 2024, at approximately 2:53 a.m., members of the Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment received a report of a single vehicle collision in the 1300 block of Tecumseh Road, Stoney Point, Municipality of Lakeshore.

As a result of the investigation, Arlene MARENTETTE, 43-year-old of Lakeshore, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on October 31, 2024, to speak to the charges.

Drunk Driver Claims He Didn’t Know He Was In Canada

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver from Vermont, USA with impaired driving.

On October 17, 2024, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Renfrew OPP received reports of a truck being stuck in a drive-thru in Cobden. The vehicle had flat tires, and the licence plate was from Vermont.

OPP attended the scene and located the truck and driver. The driver didn’t know where they were, and still believed they were in the United States. Police learned that the driver had failed to stop at the border and there were grounds for his arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Roger CHURCH, age 52 of Milton, Vermont, was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Robert ROGERS – Drunk Driving

(LAMBTON, ON) – A traffic stop led to an individual being charged for driving while impaired.

On October 19, 2024, shortly after 3:00 a.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Tashmoo Avenue, Aamjiwnaang First Nation.

As a result of the investigation, Robert ROGERS, 68-year-old of Aamjiwnaang First Nation, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on November 20, 2024, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charge.

19 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(PETROLIA, ON) – A traffic stop led to an individual being charged for driving while impaired.

On October 17, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Fletcher Street, Petrolia.

As a result of the investigation, Jaylan MUNDY, 19-year-old of Petrolia, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor Licence and Control Act, with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Young driver – B.A.C above zero
  • Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on November 26, 2024, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charges.

Joshua VANKOUGHNETT – Drunk Driving

(LOYALIST TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired driving related offences.

On October 17, 2024, just before midnight, officers responded to a call of a single vehicle collision on Coronation Boulevard in Amherstview. It was reported to police a vehicle had hit a tree and was revving its engine. Officers located the vehicle and the driver who was uninjured from the collision. Officers subsequently arrested the driver for impaired driving.

As a result, Joshua VANKOUGHNETT, age 31, of Amherstview was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on November 12, 2024.

Craig FLOOD – Drunk Driving

(SAUGEEN SHORES, ON) – On October 17, 2024, at approximately 9:56 p.m., a member of the West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team was on patrol and stopped a vehicle along Bruce Road 40, Municipality of Saugeen Shores.

As a result of the interaction, police arrested the driver for impaired driving.

Craig FLOOD, 36-years-old, from the Township of Georgian Bluffs was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Anthony ZAVAGLIA – Drunk Driving

(PERRY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Multiple traffic complaints led to an impaired driving arrest in the Township of Perry.

On October 16, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the OPP received multiple traffic complainants for a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle a short time after and conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 in the Township of Perry. 

Upon speaking with the driver, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages. They were subsequently arrested, and the vehicle was towed and impounded.

Anthony ZAVAGLIA, 46 years-of-age, of Kapuskasing, was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 14, 2024, in Sundridge.

Sunil BHATTA Was Arrested

(MONO, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Brampton resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic stop.

On October 13, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 10 in the Town of Mono. Officers noted a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop. During their interaction officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Sunil BHATTA, a 33-year-old male, from Brampton has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Drive motor vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device

•      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

•      Entire plate not plainly visible

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

•      Fail to surrender insurance card

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Joey MACQUARRIE – Drunk Driving

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) – On October 13, 2024, shortly after 3:00 p.m., members of the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 72.

Officers observed a vehicle travelling well above the posted speed limit. Officers conducted a traffic stop and observed open alcohol in the vehicle. Through investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Sioux Lookout Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Joey MACQUARRIE, 51-years-old, of Dryden, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sioux Lookout on November 26, 2024.

Emily Ann NEAT – Drunk Driving

(SPRINGWATER, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired driving after responding to a two-vehicle collision in Springwater Township.

On October 13, 2024, at 3:07 p.m., the Huronia West OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Horseshoe Valley Road and County Road 27. No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.

Officers were led to an impaired driving investigation, and the driver of one of the vehicles registered over four times the legal limit.

As a result, Emily Ann NEAT, 29-year-old of Terrace Bay, has been arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on November 26, 2024.

(MALAHIDE, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas Detachment has charged an individual following a traffic stop.

On October 13, 2024, at approximately 12:20 a.m., members of the Elgin OPP received a traffic complaint involving a suspected impaired driver and stopped the passenger vehicle on Springfield Road near College Line, Township of Malahide.

The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Elgin OPP Detachment for further testing.

(SHELBURNE, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Dundalk resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic stop.

On October 12, 2024, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Main Street and Owen Sound Street in the Town of Shelburne. Officers noted a vehicle which was not able to maintain their lane and conducted a traffic stop. After a brief conversation the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Mark COPE, a 34-year-old male, from Dundalk has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Drive motor vehicle – no licence

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Fail to surrender insurance card

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.
