Joshua SQUIRE – Drunk Driving

(WALLACEBURG, ON) – On February 2, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., while conducting general patrol, a member of the Walpole Island Police Service initiated a traffic stop in a parking lot of a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Joshua SQUIRE, a 39-year-old from Chatham, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Liquor Licence and Control Act with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 10, 2025, in the City of Chatham to speak to the charges.

Melanie WAKEFIELD – Drunk Driving

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A single motor vehicle collision ended with criminal charges for an impaired driver. 

On February 2nd, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., a member of the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a call for service for a vehicle that had driven off the road into the ditch within the Balsam off-ramp along Highway 11-17.

Investigation determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol, and an approved screening device (ASD) test was administered. The driver failed the test and was arrested and transported to the Thunder Bay Detachment where additional breath testing was completed.    

Located outside of the driver’s side door was a bottle of Banff Ice Vodka, which was seized by officers, as pictured below.

Melanie WAKEFIELD, 40-years-old, from Thunder Bay is charged criminally with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had her driver’s licence suspended and the vehicle was impounded. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Thunder Bay Ontario Court of Justice on March 12, 2025, to answer to the criminal charges.

Patrick CLOUTIER – Drunk Driving

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with impaired driving offences.

On February 2, 2025, at approximately 1:10 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

The vehicle was located, and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Patrick CLOUTIER, 45 years-of-age, from Azilda, was charged with, operation while impaired – alcohol, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 6, 2025, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Sevag BOYAJIAN Was Arrested

(CRAMAHE TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged another driver with impaired on Highway 401.

On Saturday February 2, 2025, at approximately 1:45 a.m., police were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 401. Officers stopped a black pick-up truck after observing it travelling westbound at a higher rate of speed than the posted 110km speed limit. Upon speaking with the driver, police were led into an impaired driving investigation. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand was made to which the individual complied by providing a sample of their breath. With the result, the accused was taken into custody and transported to the Brighton OPP detachment for further testing. Through investigation, the driver was found to be suspended from driving and a warrant existed for their arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Sevag, BOYAJIAN (age 38) of Oshawa Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was additionally charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA), and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on March 5, 2025.

Keegan KYLE – Drunk Driving

(HALIBURTON COUNTY, ON) – Members from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a vehicle in the ditch that led to the driver being charged with impaired driving.

On January 31st, 2025, shortly after 1:32 a.m., officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 118, between Camp White Pine Court and County Road 14, in the Municipality of Dysart et Al.  Upon arriving on scene an impaired driving investigation commenced.    

As a result of the investigation, Keegan KYLE, a 31-year-old of Algonquin Highlands was charged with:

·        Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80

In addition to the charges the accused received a 90-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The suspect was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden at a later date.

John KUIPERS – Drunk Driving

(SOUTHWOLD, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), has charged an individual following a collision investigation.

On February 2, 2025, at approximately 7:10 p.m., the Elgin OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle leaving the roadway and entering a ditch on Third Line near Magdala Road in the Township of Southwold.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, John KUIPERS, a 61-year-old from Southwold was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on March 11, 2025.

Jeremy Bradley – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation following an interaction at a collision scene.

Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on County Road 24 in Verulam Township on Friday January 31, 2025 at approximately 10:28pm. Upon arriving on scene an impaired driving investigation commenced. A grey Ford F150 pick-up was involved in the collision.

Jeremy Bradley, 31-year-old of Trent Lakes, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80

In addition to the charges the driver received a 90-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released from custody with conditions and will appear later in court.

Mitchell CHAPMAN Was Arrested

(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Perth resident with impaired driving.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Rideau Ferry Road, in Drummond-North Elmsley Township on Sunday, February 2, 2025, shortly after 12:00 a.m.

The officer, while conducting a traffic investigation, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the detachment for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Mitchell CHAPMAN age 32, of Perth has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 3, 2025. 

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension) and vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

Dustin HEELS Was Arrested

(MIDLAND,ON) – A snowmobiler riding along the trail next to Aberdeen Boulevard, Midland this evening, rolled off a snow bank right out in front of two OPP officers on snowmobile patrol who then initiated a vehicle stop.

The officers attached to the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police entered into an impaired driving investigation at approximately 5:45 p.m. February 2, 2025, after speaking with the lone occupant of the Arctic Cat snowmobile. The driver was arrested at the scene and transported to Detachment for further investigation and a further scene investigation located numerous empty beer cans aboard the snowmobile. As a result of this investigation, 41 year old Midland resident Dustin HEELS has been charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on the February 13, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Snowmobiling is a wonderful sport for most family members to enjoy the great outdoors, but sadly we have to attend incidents involving snowmobiles being operated by persons who are suspected of being impaired, or operating carelessly and are tasked with an investigation that will have long lasting effects on all involved, victims and emergency services personnel.

Christopher MAXWELL – Drunk Driving

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals with impaired driving related charges over the last couple of days.

On January 30, 2025, at approximately 9:51 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers located a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 400 North near Forbes Road in Springwater Township. After a brief discussion with the driver, the officer conducted an impaired driving investigation. A roadside Alcohol Screening Device (ASD) was administered on the driver. As a result, Christopher MAXWELL, 38-year-old of Penetanguishene, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

On January 31, 2025, at approximately 11:07 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on several Motorized Snow Vehicles (MSV) at Flos Road Three East and Phelpston Road in Springwater Township. Officers engaged in an impaired operation investigation after a driver displayed signs of impairment. As a result, Gregory FLUNEY, 46-year-old of Barrie, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Jesse MACLEOD Was Arrested

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired at a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program.

On Thursday January 30, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Muskoka Road South in Gravenhurst when their attention was drawn to a vehicle that appeared to avoid their location. Police conducted a traffic stop a short distance away and subsequently arrested and charged 23-year-old Jesse MACLEOD of Mactier with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 25, 2025 to answer to her charges.

Anthony OLSON – Drunk Driving

(KENORA, ON) – Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual after locating a vehicle in the ditch on Tresoor Point Road.

On January 21, 2025, shortly after 10:00 pm, members of the OPP Kenora Detachment, were called to the area of Tresoor Point Road for a drop 911 call. While travelling on Tresoor Point Road, officers came across a single motor vehicle collision.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol, and an approved screening device (ASD) test was administered. The driver failed the test and was arrested and transported to the Kenora Detachment where additional breath testing was completed.

Anthony OLSON, 64-years-old from Kenora Ontario is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had his driver’s licence suspended and the vehicle was impounded. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on the 6th of February, 2025 to answer to the criminal charges.

Brianne KENT Was Arrested

(KENORA, ON) – Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual after a motor vehicle collision on Rabbit Lake Road.

On January 19, 2025, just before 1:00 pm, members of the OPP Kenora Detachment, were called to the area of Rabbit Lake Road for a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol, and an approved screening device (ASD) test was administered. The driver failed the test and was arrested and transported to the Kenora Detachment where additional breath testing was completed.

Brianne KENT, 33-years-old from Kenora Ontario is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had her driver’s licence suspended and the vehicle was impounded. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on the 27th of February, 2025 to answer to the criminal charges.

Richard MARACLE – Drunk Driving

(GREATER NAPANEE, ON) – Lennox and Addington County Detachment members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired driving after leaving a local business.

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, shortly before 9:00 p.m., L&A County OPP members stopped a vehicle on Belleville Road in Tyendinaga Township after a concerned citizen reported that the driver might be impaired.

Richard MARACLE, a 48-year-old from Tyendinaga Township was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on February 11, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
