Cong Thanh NGUYEN – Drunk Driving

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving after a traffic complaint in Lakeshore.

On March 1, 2025, at approximately 10:49 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint on County Road 42 near Renaud Line in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

Cong Thanh NGUYEN, 44-years-old of Windsor, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on March 13, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Officer Assaulted – Manjot SINGH Arrested

(BURLINGTON, ON) – A driver was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving Sunday morning after causing a collision, attempting to flee, and assaulting an Officer who arrived at the scene to investigate.

On Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 8:41 a.m., members from Burlington OPP responded to a collision on highway 403 eastbound near Waterdown Rd in the City of Burlington. Reports were received that the driver who caused the collision was driving erratically prior to the collision and was not pulling over after the collision.

An Officer from the Burlington detachment arrived on scene and observed vehicles pulled over on the right shoulder and occupants outside of the vehicles. The Officer separated the occupants and was then assaulted by the suspect while placing them under arrest for impaired driving.

As a result of the investigation, Manjot SINGH, age 25, from Brampton has been charged with:

·      Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

·      Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code

·      Assault a Peace Officer

The accused was already under a court ordered driving suspension for a previous impaired driving conviction.

The accused was released from custody and is set to appear on May 26th, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Milton.

The OPP remains committed to taking alcohol/drug-impaired drivers off our roads through enforcement and public education. The OPP relies on the public to report crime. Jarnail VIRK – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing charges after traffic complaint on Highway 402 Westbound.

On March 1, 2025, at 1:56 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the Westbound lanes of Highway 402 in Middlesex Centre, for the report of a possible impaired driver operating a transport truck.

The transport truck was located and stopped near Glendon Drive.

As a result, Jarnail VIRK, a 53-year-old of Paris, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

·      Drive commercial motor vehicle in contravention of conditions

·      Fail to have insurance card

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on April 24, 2025.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

Andrew LARABIE – Drunk Driving

(SUDBURY, ON) – Police arrested and charged one person with impaired driving offences, after investigating a motor vehicle in a ditch.

On February 28, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to a report of a vehicle collision in a ditch on Highway 17, Sudbury.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the local hospital by EMS with minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew LARABIE, 22 years-of-age, from Sudbury, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 27, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Shaun James JACKSON – Drunk Driving

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Fergus resident with a criminal charge, stemming from a traffic stop.

On February 27, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP initiated a traffic stop on St. David Street North in Fergus.

As a result of the investigation, Shaun James JACKSON, a 45-year-old of Fergus is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on March 11, 2025.

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving after a traffic complaint in Leamington.

On February 27, 2025, at approximately 3:28 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint on Maxon Avenue in the Town of Leamington.

Michael HICKS, 39-years-old of Leamington, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on March 12, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Carter MacDonald – Drunk Driving

(ATIKOKAN, ON) – Mandatory alcohol screening detected an impaired driver who was stopped for a moving violation.  

On March 3, 2025, at approximately 3:00 am, members of the Atikokan Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle after seeing a stop sign related moving violation.

Officers demanded alcohol screening as part of the traffic stop. The driver failed the mandatory alcohol screening and was arrested at the scene. The driver was transported to the Atikokan Detachment where additional breath testing was completed by way of demand.

Carter MacDonald, 23-years-old, from Atikokan is charged criminally with one count of impaired operation alcohol or drug, and one count of impaired operation blood alcohol concentration 80 mgs and over. The accused was also charged provincially with a novice driver and insurance violation.    

The accused driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The accused was released by police and is scheduled to appear in the Atikokan Ontario Court of Justice on March 27, 2025, to speak to the charges

Under Canada’s Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS) law, drivers must immediately comply with a police officer’s demand for a breath sample, even in the absence of any suspicion that they have consumed alcohol. If you suspect that a driver is impaired, do not hesitate to call 9-1-1. By doing so, you could be saving a life.

Kevin WILLIAM – Drunk Driving

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Dundalk resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic stop.

On March 2, 2025, just after 12:30 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 89 in the Township of Mulmur. Officers noted a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop. After a brief conversation, the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Kevin WILLIAMS, a 49-year-old male, from Dundalk has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

•      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

•      Fail to surrender insurance card

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

Corey PAULING – Drunk Driving

(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) – One individual has been charged with impaired driving following a traffic stop in St. Clair Township.

On March 1, 2025, just after 8:00 p.m., while conducting general patrol, members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop Highway 40, north of Moore Line, St. Clair Township.

As a result, Corey PAULING, 48-year-old of St. Clair Township, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 2, 2025, in the City of Sarnia.

Austin TABOBONDUNG – Drunk Driving, Etc.

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – One person is facing charges after The Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop.

On March 2, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Manitoulin OPP observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 6 near Sunshine Alley Road in the Township of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands (NEMI). Police conducted a traffic stop, and further investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired operation.

As a result, the driver, Austin TABOBONDUNG, 25-years-old from Parry Sound, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limited
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Novice driver – B.A.C above zero

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on April 1, 2025.

Stephen BELL – Drunk Driving

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – An individual from Woodstock is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from a traffic complaint from a member of the public.

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to Highway 59 in Norwich Township, to a vehicle that was reported driving erratically.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Stephen BELL, 43-years-old, of the City of Woodstock, has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 1, 2025.

Ward HEMSTOCK – Drunk Driving

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On February 28, 2025, at approximately 12:36 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along 3rd Street SW, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Ward HEMSTOCK, 63-years-old, of Arran-Elderslie, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on April 2, 2025.

Tomislav MIHNJAK – Drunk Driving

(ESSA, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one driver for driving while impaired in Essa Township.

On March 2, 2025, shortly before 7:30 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a passenger vehicle swerving all over the road, veering into oncoming lanes.

An officer was able to locate the vehicle and safely initiated a traffic stop on Commerce Road. The officer issued an Approved Screening Device demand (ASD). Subsequently the driver provided a sample which resulted in a “Fail”. 

At 7:40 p.m., the driver: Tomislav MIHNJAK 48 years-old, of New Tecumseth, was arrested and charge with:  

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on April 3, 2025, to answer to the charges.

(Prince Edward County, ON) – A single vehicle collision has resulted in a driver being charged with impaired operation.

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 11:55 p.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on County Road 4 in Prince Edward County.

As a result of the investigation, Kyle COATES, age 37, from Prince Edward County, was arrested and charged with:

· Operation while impaired – alcohol

· Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 19, 2025. They also had their driver’s licence suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Darren ROWE – Drunk Driving

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – A driver was arrested and charged for impaired after colliding with two parked vehicles.

On February 20, 2025, at approximately 2:40 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol when they witnessed a vehicle colliding with two parked vehicles at a local business on Highway 65 East in Temiskaming Shores.

As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to detachment for further testing.

Darren ROWE, 28 years-of-age of Englehart, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on March 4, 2025.
