Brockton Drunk Driving Crackdown – HEM, FREDERICK & KWANT Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – On April 10, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) along Bruce Road 10, Municipality of Brockton.

A vehicle entered the area where police then spoke with the driver. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a quantity of suspected cocaine; two additional individuals were also placed under arrest.

Mackara HEM, 25-years-old, resident of Montreal, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA 5(2)
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available, CCA 12(1)

Trey FREDERICK, 22-years-old, resident of Kitchener, was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA 5(2)

Michael KWANT, 22-years-old, resident of Kitchener, was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA 5(2)

Each are set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.

Michele COADY – Drunk Driving

(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges because of a traffic tip.

On April 9, 2025, at approximately 7:08 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a traffic tip of a possible impaired driver heading southbound on Fairgrounds Road in Clearview Township.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle at the owner’s address. After speaking with the owner/driver, officers noticed an odour of alcohol on the individual’s breath and conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result of the investigation, Michele COADY, 50-year-old of Clearview Township, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Yaman AL-JUNDI Was Arrested

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual with impaired driving related charges after an officer was alerted by the ALPR.

On April 6, 2025, at approximately 10:24 a.m., Huronia West OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement southbound on Horseshoe Valley Road in Springwater Township. Officers were alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system which prompted further investigation by the officer resulting in a traffic stop. After a brief discussion with the driver, the officer conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Yaman AL-JUNDI, 31-year-old of Toronto, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The male was additionally charged under the with:

·      Drive Motor Vehicle, No Current Validated Permit

·      Novice Driver – B.A.C. Above Zero

·      Possesses More Than One Licence

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Hit & Run – 65 Year Old From Ailsa Craig Arrested

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with impaired after vehicle leaves road and rolls.

On April 6, 2025, at 7:22 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service were dispatched to Hedley Drive in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre for the report of a single vehicle rollover.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.

Members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine (K9) were dispatched to assist with the search and located the accused not far from the scene.

The accused was placed under arrest and transported to the Strathroy Caradoc Police Service.

As a result, Ross MCLACHLAN, a 65-year-old of Ailsa Craig, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Fail to remain

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on June 11, 2025.

The driver was not injured.

18 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON) – An early morning disturbance led to impaired driving charges for one individual.

On April 5, 2025, at approximately 5:00 a.m., an officer from the Thessalon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was travelling through Sault Ste. Marie, when they heard yelling and screaming on Queen Street East near Fournier Road. Concerned for public safety, the officer attended the scene and located multiple individuals standing near three vehicles, two which were parked on the travelled portion of the road and one which was partially stuck in a snowbank. The officer observed one of the individuals place what appeared to be a beer can in the snowbank, enter the driver seat of the stuck motor vehicle and attempt to drive it. The officer detained the individual and formed grounds to believe they had consumed alcoholic beverages.

As a result of further investigation, Logan SCOTT, 18 years-of-age, of Sault Ste. Marie was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 12, 2025 in Sault Ste. Marie. The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The OPP was assisted in this investigation by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

17 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) – On April 6, 2025, at approximately 2:31 a.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Sideroad 20, Township of Huron-Kinloss.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

A 17-year-old resident of Huron-Kinloss, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, HTA 44.1(3)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.

WATSON Arrested For Drunk Driving

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On April 5, 2025, at approximately 5:58 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint in the Municipality of Kincardine.

The subject vehicle was located along Gary Street. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Christina WATSON, 56-years-old, of the Municipality of Kincardine, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on May 7, 2025 to answer to the charge.

MCGOWAN – Drunk Driving

(ALLISTON, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one driver for driving while impaired in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On April 07, 2025, shortly after 8:00 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a white pickup truck travelling westbound on 5th Line and 10 Sideroad in New Tecumseth, unable to maintain its lane position.

An officer was in the area, and immediately located this vehicle turning south on to Tottenham Road from 5th Line. The vehicle was confirmed to be the same as the initial complaint and initiated a traffic stop.

The officer issued an Approved Screening Device demand (ASD). Subsequently the driver provided a sample which resulted in a “Fail”. 

At 8:12 p.m., the driver: Michael MCGOWAN 42 years-old, of Beeton, was arrested and charge with:  

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on May 1, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Rosemary BENNETT – Drunk Driving

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing charges after a traffic stop for speeding in the Baldwin Township.

On Sunday, April 6, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was travelling 101 km/hr in a posted 70 km/hr zone on Highway 17 in the Baldwin Township. As a result of further investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired operation.

Rosemary BENNETT, 33-years-old from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C above zero
  • Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on May 5, 2025.

Brenton MCMURPHY – Drunk Driving

(DAWN-EUPHEMIA, ON) – A Dawn-Euphemia resident is charged with impaired driving following a two-vehicle collision.

On April 3, 2025, just after 4:45 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Robson Road and Edys Mills Line, Dawn-Euphemia.

As a result of the investigation, Brenton MCMURPHY, a 40-year-old of Dawn-Euphemia Township, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Sarnia on April 29, 2025.

Additionally, the second driver, a 65-year-old of Dresden, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Fail to yield to traffic on through highway

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Pamela ZABA Was Arrested

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged the driver with impaired driving offences after responding to a vehicle collision into a ditch.

On Saturday April 5, 2025, at approximately 7:10 a.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision in a ditch on Goulard Road, West Nipissing.

Police attended the scene, and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Pamela ZABA, 49 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with, operation while impaired – alcohol, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 1, 2025, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Emmanuel ASANJI NGUFOR – Drunk Driving

(LONDON, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop.

On April 6, 2025, at 3:28 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while travelling on Veterans Memorial Parkway in the City of London, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Emmanuel ASANJI NGUFOR, a 55-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on May 19, 2025.

Clifford HAMILTON – Impaired Operation

(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Puslinch Township resident with a criminal charge, stemming from a traffic stop.

On April 6, 2025, at approximately 10:45 a.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP initiated a traffic stop on Brock Road South in Puslinch Township.

As a result of the investigation, Clifford HAMILTON, a 64-year-old of Puslinch Township is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on April 15, 2025.

Tyler TIMOTHY Was Arrested Again

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged following a collision in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

On April 4, 2025, at approximately 3:06 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on the County Road 42 westbound on ramp to Highway 401 in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

Tyler TIMOTHY, 20-years-old of Stoney Point, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while prohibited
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts)
  • Possession of Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
