WHITEHEAD Arrested For Drunk Driving

(KINLOSS TWP, ON) – On February 24, 2024, at 10:45 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along Bruce County Road 1 in Kinloss Township stopped a motor vehicle.

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests.

Steven WHITEHEAD, 25-years-old, from the Township of Huron Kinloss was charged with:

  • Impaired Driving
  • Operate over 80 milligrams

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on April 10, 2024, to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Cole RECOLLET – Drunk Driving


(SAGAMOK FIRST NATION, ON)
 – One person has been arrested and charged following a call for service in Sagamok First Nation.

On February 24, 2024, shortly after 5:00 a.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Ironwood Street in Sagamok First Nation.

Police located the vehicle of the traffic complaint on Sagamok Road and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver, police determined the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported back to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Cole RECOLLET, 19-years-old from Birch Island has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on April 15, 2024.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Gilbert Coles – Drunk Driving, No Insurance

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – A Southgate individual is facing charges after an Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) System notification.

On February 23, 2024, at 1:04 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling Victoria Street East in Southgate. The officer received an ALPR notification for unauthorized plates. The officer conducted a traffic stop. As police were speaking to the driver, the driver was displaying signs of impairment. The driver provided a sample of breath into an Approved Screening Device (ASD) which registered a fail. The driver was transported to the OPP Detachment in Chatsworth for further testing.

Gilbert Coles, 62-year-old from Southgate was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on March 7, 2024.

If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.

Stephen Gordon – Drunk Driving, Trespass, Etc.

(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On February 24, 2024, at 3:18 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter in progress on the 12th Concession B in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The OPP attended and located an individual inside a workshop. The individual told police that he drove there. Police located the individual’s vehicle on the roadway. While officers were speaking to the individual, the individual was displaying signs of impairment.

Stephen Gordon, 24-year-old from Grey Highlands was charged with:

·      Trespass at night

·      Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on March 21, 2024.

The OPP reminds everyone to report suspicious incidents to the police.

Nicholas PRESSEY – Drunk Driving

 (OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Thanks to a member of the public calling in a traffic complaint, an individual was arrested and charged with several offences.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment, investigated a traffic complaint on Broadway Street in the Town of Tillsonburg.

After speaking to the driver, police observed signs of impairment and made an arrest.

After conducting further testing at the detachment Nicholas PRESSEY, 24 years-of-age of Delhi, was charged with the following Criminal Code and Provincial Offences Act charges:

·                    Operation While Impaired

·                    Novice Driver Operation While Impaired -Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·                    Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

·                    Fail to Surrender Insurance Card

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Woodstock on March 26, 2024.

Kyle GREENLAW – Drunk Driving

(TOWN OF WASAGA BEACH, CLEARVIEW AND SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIPS, ON) – Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual with impaired driving following a RIDE check in the Township of Springwater.

On February 24, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of Huronia West OPP were conducting a RIDE spot check for sobriety on Flos Road 7 East. A vehicle entered the RIDE spot check and police began an impaired driving investigation. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Huronia West OPP Detachment for further investigation.

As a result, Kyle GREENLAW, 28-year-old of Hillsdale, has been charged with:

  • Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date scheduled for March 19, 2024. Their vehicle was impounded for 7-days, and the accused was issued an Administrative Drivers Licence suspension for 90 days.

Repeat Offender Matthew HEANEY Arrested Again

On February 24, 2024, just prior to 9:00pm, Peterborough County OPP officers conducted a stop of a vehicle on Television Road in the City of Peterborough. During the stop officers determined the driver to be impaired. A search o the vehicle was conducted as a result of the arrest and various controlled substances were located. The vehicle passenger was also arrested as a result of the search.

Matthew HEANEY (age 33) of Frankford, ON, was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Fail to comply with release order – other than to attend court

·      Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine

·      Poss of a Schedule II Substance – Other drugs

·      Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

·      Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Peter CAWKER – Drunk Driving

(PETERBOROUGH COUNTY, ON) On February 24, 2024, just shortly after 8:00pm, Peterborough County OPP officers were conducting RIDE on Youngs Point Road in Selwyn Township. A vehicle entered the RIDE and upon speaking with officers, an odour of alcohol was detected. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand was made and after providing a sample of their breath, a FAIL was registered resulting in the driver being arrested.

Peter CAWKER (age 60) of Trent Lakes, ON, was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on April 2, 2024.

Ronald PROCTOR – Drunk Driving

(PETERBOROUGH COUNTY, ON) – Peterborough County OPP made three separate impaired arrests within a four-hour period on February 24, 2024.

On February 24, 2024, the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made three separate arrests related to impaired driving.

On February 24, 2024, at approximately 5:15pm, the Peterborough County OPP responded to a report of a single motor vehicle in the ditch that was reported on Highway 28 in the North Kawartha Township. Officers arrived at scene and were told by the driver that they attempted to pull over but had gone too far landing them in the ditch. While officers spoke with the driver, an odour of alcohol was detected as well as signs of impairment. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested.

Ronald PROCTOR (age 59) of Alliston, ON, was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on April 2, 2024.

Garnet KEEPER Arrested – Drunk Driving

(RED LAKE, ON) – A R.I.D.E program in Red Lake has resulted in one individual being arrested and charged with impaired operation.

On February 25, 2024, just before 11:00 a.m., members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E program on Highway 125 near Balmer Creek Road in Red Lake. A driver approached the R.I.D.E program and was requested to provide a breath sample.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Red Lake OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Garnet KEEPER, 22-years-old, of Pikangikum, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Novice Driver – B.A.C. Above Zero

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on April 18, 2024.

Rylie HEMLOW Arrested For Drunk Driving

(AMHERSTVIEW, ON) – Officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a Amherstview driver with impaired driving.

On February 24, 2024, shortly after 3:00 a.m., officers from the L&A County OPP were conducting general patrols and pulled over a vehicle for observed traffic infractions. The vehicle was stopped at a gas station on Sherwood Avenue, in Amherstview. Officers observed the vehicle to have damage to it. The lone female driver appeared to be intoxicated. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported back to the detachment for further testing.

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged Rylie HEMLOW, age 20, of Kingston, with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on March 12, 2024. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jason WAHAMAA – Drunk Driving

(UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY, ON) – A driver was charged with impaired driving after police responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver.

On February 25, shortly before 11:30 p.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 144, Unincorporated Territory, north of the City of Greater Sudbury.

A witness was following the vehicle, travelling all over the roadway and contacted police.

Police located the vehicle and while speaking to the driver, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the Greater Sudbury Police Service for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Jason WAHAMAA, 54 years-of-age, from Azilda, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • No red light on rear of trailer

The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 27, 2024, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Gryffyn JOHNS – Drunk Driving

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after vehicle leaves roadway and enters ditch.

On February 22, 2024, at 10:05 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Main Street in Glencoe, Southwest Middlesex, for the report of a single vehicle that left the roadway and entered the ditch.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was placed under arrest without incident.

As a result, Gryffyn JOHNS, an 18-year-old of Port Franks, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on March 26, 2024.

James DREWITT – Drunk Driving, Speeding, Etc.

(SOUTHWOLD, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin County Detachment has charged an individual following a traffic stop.

On February 25, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a member of the Elgin County OPP stopped a passenger vehicle on Iona Road near Thomson Line, Township of Southwold for travelling more than 45 Km/h over the speed limit.

While speaking to the driver, the investigating officer observed signs of intoxication. The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, James DREWITT, a 31-year-old of Iona Station was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on March 26, 2024.

Tahnee McGREGOR – Drunk Driving

(SUDBURY, ON) – A driver was charged with impaired driving after police responded to a single motor vehicle collision.

On February 24, shortly after 4:00 p.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, in the City of Greater Sudbury.

The vehicle had collided with the guiderails on the shoulder of the highway, there were no injuries to the driver.

While speaking to the driver, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the Sudbury OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Tahnee McGREGOR, 27 years-of-age, from Birch Island, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 13, 2024, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
