Sanmith VADAKEVITIL 99 in a 50

(TOWN OF WASAGA BEACH, CLEARVIEW AND SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIPS, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with stunt driving in the Township of Springwater.

On March 11, 2024, while conducting traffic patrol on Sunnidale Road, a member of the Huronia West Traffic Unit conducted a traffic stop due to a vehicle traveling at a rate of 99km per hour in a posted 50km per hour zone.

Sanmith VADAKEVITIL, 24-year-old of Barrie, was charged with:

  • Adult Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed
  • Adult Speeding 1 – Speeding 49 km/h over posted limit

The driver received a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Kyle GREENLAW – Drunk Driving

(TOWN OF WASAGA BEACH, CLEARVIEW AND SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIPS, ON) – Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual with impaired driving following a RIDE check in the Township of Springwater.

On February 24, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of Huronia West OPP were conducting a RIDE spot check for sobriety on Flos Road 7 East. A vehicle entered the RIDE spot check and police began an impaired driving investigation. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Huronia West OPP Detachment for further investigation.

As a result, Kyle GREENLAW, 28-year-old of Hillsdale, has been charged with:

  • Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date scheduled for March 19, 2024. Their vehicle was impounded for 7-days, and the accused was issued an Administrative Drivers Licence suspension for 90 days.
