Meth Bust – Names Released

(GARDEN RIVER FIRST NATION, ON) – Two individuals are facing numerous charges after failing to stop for police. On March 5, 2024, shortly before 2:00 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Batchewana First Nation Police were notified that a vehicle had failed to stop for officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle on Sweet Grass Street in Garden River First Nation. A search of the vehicle yielded large quantities of various illicit drugs, including over 71 grams of suspected Fentanyl, over 24 grams of suspected Cocaine, over 18 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine, and approximately 219 Percocet pills. Street value of the seized drugs is estimated at $17,000.00. Officers also located drug paraphernalia, over $2,000.00 in Canadian currency, and a replica firearm inside the vehicle.

As a result, the driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Michael HOGAN-DENIS, from Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Trafficking – Opioid – two counts
  • Possession of Prohibited Device
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order – two counts
  • Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order – three counts

The passenger of the vehicle, 25-year-old Bridgette SIMONS, from Thessalon, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Trafficking – Opioid – two counts
  • Possession of Prohibited Device
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000

Both accused individuals were remanded into custody, pending bail hearings.

Sault Ste. Marie OPP and Batchewana First Nation Police officers were assisted by the OPP Community Street Crime and Canine Units.

Jeffrey Parkes Facing 25 Charges – Caught On Video

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – One individual is facing 25 charges when a property owner called the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report seeing a suspicious vehicle on their seasonal property through their video surveillance.

On March 6, 2025, at 3:19 a.m., a property owner called the Grey Bruce OPP to report a vehicle parked in the laneway of their vacant seasonal property on Davidson Drive in South Bruce Peninsula.

Police attended and located the driver in the driver’s seat of an idling vehicle. The driver appeared to be asleep. Officers woke the driver and while the officers were speaking to the driver; the driver was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Saugeen Shores Police Detachment for further tests by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). During a search of the vehicle OPP officers seized a large quantity of suspected fentanyl, suspected methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, a firearm and a large quantity of money. Approximately street value of the drugs is $70,000.

Jeffrey Parkes, 31-year-old of no fixed address was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Cocaine) X3

·      Possession of property obtained by crime Over $5000

·      Possession of property obtained by crime Under $5000

·      Knowledge of Unauthorized possession of a firearm

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a Firearm

·      Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo

·      Breach of firearms regulation – transport firearm or restricted weapon

·      Possession of a firearm knowing serial number has been tampered with

·      Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order X8

·      Fail to comply with Probation Order X2

·      Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose X3

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

The Grey Bruce OPP is reminding everyone to report suspicious activity to police. We would rather prevent a crime than have to deal with the consequences of crime.

Shannen BRYANT Arrested

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Huron resident with Impaired Operation and several other offences after police stopped a vehicle for speeding in South Huron on Friday, February 23rd, 2024. 

Huron OPP officers were patrolling in the Municipality of South Huron at approximately 8:20 p.m. on February 23rd. Police locked a southbound motor vehicle travelling on London Road. The driver attempted to hide their vehicle from police in a private laneway but was located by the officer. Police spoke to the driver who displayed signs of impairment. Officers had reason to believe that the driver was impaired by drug, and they were subsequently arrested. Evidence of illegal drug use was located inside the vehicle.

The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment in Clinton for further tests by an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (D.R.E.).  

Shannen BRYANT, 36 years-of-age from North Huron has been charged with the following offences:

–      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs,

–      Obstruct Peace Officer,

–      Personation with Intent.

The accused was additionally charged under the Highway Traffic Act for Speeding and Driving While Under Suspension.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.

The accused was processed, then later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 18th, 2024.

Drug Bust – Repeat Offender Arrested Again

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Oxford Street Crime Unit has charged two individuals after executing a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at an address on Goshen Road in the Town of Tillsonburg. 

On Friday March 1, 2024, police executed a search warrant in the Town of Tillsonburg. As a result, police seized a cell phone, Canadian currency, packaging materials, knives, scales, and suspected fentanyl.

Thomas MASEFIELD, 30-years-old, of Tillsonburg has been charged with the following offences:

·        Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

·        Possession of a Prohibited Device

·        Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 2, 2024.  

Arthur POTTS, 54-years-old, of Tillsonburg has been charged with the following offences:

·        Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

·        Possession of a Prohibited Device

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 16, 2024.

Ryan HOGAN Arrested

(Bancroft, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in the Town of Bancroft.

On March 1, 2024, shortly after midnight, officers conducted a traffic stop in the Town of Bancroft. As a result of the investigation, 40-year-old Ryan HOGAN of Bancroft was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking- Fentanyl;

Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking- Methamphetamine;

Possession of a Schedule 3 substance for the purpose of trafficking- Psilocybin; and

Adult unauthorized Possession of a Weapon.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on March 26th, 2024.

Weapon & Drug Bust

(SUNDRIDGE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals with drug related offences after two search warrants were executed at two separate residences in the Village of Sundridge.

On Tuesday March 5, 2024, the Almaguin Highlands OPP’s Street Crime Unit (CSCU) detachment members, Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) arrested four individuals and located over 100 grams of suspected cocaine, over 1000 tabs of suspected amphetamines, over 140 suspected Percocet, and approximately $5,200 dollars in Canadian currency. The street value for the drugs seized was approximately $17,000. Police also located and seized an imitation firearm, shot gun, .22 riffle and ammunition.

As a result of the investigation, three people were arrested and charged.  

Gregory HALL, 38-years-old of Sundridge was charged with the following:

·      Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose

·      Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

·      Unauthorized possession of a firearm (two counts)

·      Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other drugs (amphetamine)

·      Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -Opioid (other than heroin)

·      Possession property obtained by crime under $5000

James GRAVELLE, 34-years-old of Sundridge was charged with the following:

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine (two counts)

·      possession property obtained by crime under $5000

Sara SAUNDERS, 28-year-old of Sundridge was charged with the following:

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine (two counts)

The accused persons remain in custody pending a bail hearing.

Jonathon SYLVESTER Arrested Again

(MIDLAND, ON) – Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment wrapped up several recent investigations with an arrest on March 5, 2024

At approximately 6:57 a.m. March 5, 2024, officers responded to a theft in progress at a Vinden Street, Midland retail store. Officers were able to locate the suspect and arrested Jonathon SYLVESTER 35-years of Christian Island at a nearby taxi stand and seized a quantity of fentanyl, bank cards along with lottery tickets. The accused was transported back to Detachment for further investigation.

As a result of further investigation, the accused was arrested on a warrant as the accused from an incident also investigated by Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers. On Feb 26, 2024, an investigation was commenced after a Peel Street, Penetanguishene resident reported the theft of a locked 2014 Honda CRV. Through the officers investigation, the accused was identified and the vehicle was located and returned to the owner.

The accused was held for a bail hearing on the following criminal offences.

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin) contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

and further charged with the following criminal offences in relation to the theft of vehicle occurrence.

  • Fraud Under $5000
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada

40 Year Old From Kincardine Arrested – Name Released

(TIVERTON, ON) – On March 3, 2024, at 3:56 a.m., members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. along Main Street in Tiverton, when they encountered an unlicensed driver.

Upon further investigation, officers found a quantity of illicit drugs in the vehicle.

Chad MILLER, 40-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with:

  • Driving while under suspension
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Obstruct a Peace Officer

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on April 24, 2024, to answer to the charges.

Drug Bust – Two Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – An investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit has led to charges being laid against two Dryden residents.

On March 4, 2024, just prior to midnight, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was executed at a residence on Pine Crescent, in the City of Dryden, where a quantity of oxycodone, Canadian currency, and other items associated with drug trafficking were seized. 

As a result, Clayton THOMPSON, 52-years-old, and Mary Maicy MACHIMITY, 49-years-old, both of Dryden, have been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The accused parties have been released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 25, 2024, in Dryden.

Cocaine & Weapons Bust -LAVIEILLE & RETES Arrested

(MELANCTHON, ON) – Officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized a quantity of drugs and charged two individuals as a result of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Shelburne.

On March 1, 2024, members of the Dufferin Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), along with Dufferin uniform members and Offender Management and Apprehension Program (OMAP) executed a search warrant at a home on Third Line in Melancthon. The search warrant resulted in the arrest of two individuals who are facing multiple charges. In addition, the officers seized a quantity of drugs.  

Brayden LAVIEILLE, 28-year-old from Dundalk has been charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid

Joshua RETES, 19-year-old of no fixed address

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime – under $5000

Meth Bust – PARK, DUNCAN, FOSTER & VERNON

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On February 29, 2024, members of the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with the West Region Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit made a number of arrests following a drug trafficking investigation in the Municipality of North Perth.

Three people were arrested on Wallace Avenue North, and were found in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and hydromorphone, as well as drug trafficking paraphernalia, cash, and brass knuckles.

With the assistance of the Brant-Oxford CSCU, Elgin-Middlesex CSCU, and West Region Regional Support Team, the Huron-Perth CSCU executed three Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrants at two residences on Wallace Avenue North and Elm Avenue North, and at a storage unit on Fairlane Road, all in the Municipality of North Perth. As a result of the search warrants, another individual was arrested. Police seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, hydromorphone, oxycodone, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

The total estimated value of the drugs is approximately $15,000. The total estimated value of the seized property is $1200.

Shane PARK, 37, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (fentanyl and other opioid) (two counts)

–      Mischief – Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property – Under $5000

Tracey-Lynn DUNCAN, 38, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (fentanyl and other opioid) (two counts)

The accused parties were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Michael FOSTER, 38, of Wellington County, has been charged with:

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford March 25, 2024, to answer to the charges.

Nikole VERNON, 38, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (fentanyl and other opioid) (three counts)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 22, 2024, to answer to the charges.

Carl BURGER Passed Out Behind Wheel Arrested

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On March 2, 2024, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver passed out on Highway 108 in Elliot Lake.

At approximately 9:20 p.m. police were on general patrol when they observed a parked small orange car and the driver passed out. The driver was awoken and displayed obvious signs of drug impairment. They were subsequently arrested and police seized suspected Cocaine, Fentanyl, a digital scale, clear plastic baggies, cell phones, and cash. The vehicle was towed and impounded. 

Carl BURGER, 57-years-old, from Elliot Lake was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on April 11, 2024.

Wyatt Hellyer Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver who was stopped at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check.

On February 29, 2024, at 2:41 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE check on Saule Falls Parkway in South Bruce Peninsula. A vehicle entered the RIDE check. While the officers were speaking to the driver, they were displaying signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Grey Bruce OPP Detachment for further tests by a Qualified Breath Technician along with a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

Wyatt Hellyer, 18-years-old of South Bruce Peninsula was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Possession of a schedule III substance

·      Person under 19 years – possess cannabis

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis in open baggage

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

·      Person under 19 years having liquor

·      Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available

·      Possess illegal licence

·      Young driver – B.A.C. above zero

·      Young driver – presence of drug

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on March 21, 2024.

8 Arrested In Guns & Drugs Bust – Names Released

(PEMBROKE, ON) – Eight people face a total of 54 Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) charges after the seizure of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine in Pembroke. A stolen firearm and replica pistols were also seized.    

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit and members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP, executed a search warrant on February 29, 2024, at an apartment on Pembroke Street East.

In addition to the illegal drugs and guns, officers also located items typically associated with drug trafficking, including digital scales, packaging material and multiple cell phones.

Kerry Lynn BILODEAU, age 41 of Bonnechere Valley Township, Shawn William BOLGER, age 36 of Pembroke, Joanne REIS, age 61 of Pembroke, Arin ROSE, age 21 of Pembroke, each face the following CC and CDSA charges:

  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

BILODEAU faces one additional charge of failing to comply with a probation order.

Repeat Offenders JOHNSON-SHIRLEY & Xander CORNELIUS-MILLER Arrested Again

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid firearms and drug related charges after vehicle failed to stop for police.  

On February 29, 2024, just after 11:00 a.m., an officer conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 10, in the Town of Caledon, attempted to stop a vehicle but it failed to stop. The vehicle was later located after being involved in a collision, but the occupants had fled the scene. With the assistance of the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the Peel Regional Police Canine Unit, two parties were located and arrested. The investigation also resulted in the seizure of two loaded prohibited firearms, a large quantity of drugs, and cash. 

O’Neal JOHNSON-SHIRLEY, 20, of Brampton was charged with: 

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid
