Drug Bust – PARKER X3

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Three Quinte West residents are facing drug trafficking charges.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Quinte West OPP Detachment began an investigation in early August regarding the sales of illegal drugs, specifically cocaine, in the community.

On Thursday, August 29, 2024, CSCU and Quinte West officers, along with members of the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on McGill Street. Two men were arrested at the scene and a third was arrested today, Friday, August 30, 2024, after a warrant was issued.

Officers seized a large amount of suspected cocaine, along with suspected fentanyl, hydromorphone, morphine and clonazepam. Over $7000 in cash and items typically association with drug trafficking were also seized.

Fred PARKER, age 54, Roger PARKER, age 80, and Felkin PARKER, age 21, have each been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession of a Schedule 4 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

Fred PARKER was remanded in custody until another appearance before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville. Roger PARKER and Felkin PARKER have been released and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Sebastion ORTIZ-CARSWELL Was Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – An investigation led by the Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Dryden OPP CSCU and the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, has led to charges being laid against a Hamilton resident.

On August 28th, 2024, just before 6:00 pm, an individual was arrested at the Sioux Lookout Airport and was found in possession of a quantity of cocaine.     

As a result of the investigation, Sebastion ORTIZ-CARSWELL, 21 years old, of Hamilton, has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offence:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Drug Bust

(DRYDEN, ON) – An investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Red Lake OPP CSCU, Northwest Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Canine Unit, has led to charges against two individuals.

On August 26, 2024, just after 10:00 a.m., Jodie BEAULNE, 48 years old, of Dryden, was arrested for possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, at a local business in the area of Whyte Avenue, City of Dryden.

On August 26, 2024, just after 2:00 p.m., a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was executed at a residence on Van Horne Avenue, City of Dryden, where a quantity of cocaine, Canadian currency, and evidence of drug trafficking were located. Officers also located an individual in connection with the investigation at the address.

As a result of the investigation, Jodie BEAULNE and Mogga BARABA, 20 years old, of Calgary, have been arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking  
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

Additionally, Mogga BARABA has been charged with failure to comply with release order (two counts).

BEAULNE has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Dryden on September 23, 2024. BARABA has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

$20,000 Drug Bust In Goderich – Kristopher FABER Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) and Huron County OPP detachment resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, weapons, cash, and offence-related property with a total value exceeding $20,500.

An illegal drug investigation was initiated by members of the Huron-Perth OPP CSCU which led investigators to a suspect in the Town of Goderich.

On Thursday, August 29, 2024, a search warrant was executed in Goderich which resulted in the seizure of controlled substances, assorted currency, weapons, and other offence-related items. One individual has been arrested and charged.

As a result of the investigation, police seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, hydromorphone, and cocaine. Other seized items included digital scales, packaging material, cellular phones and several knives. One knife that was seized was a handgun replica knife. A quantity of cash was also seized.

The combined estimated value of the seized drugs is $12,600.

The combined estimated value of the seized property is $2,400.

Total currency seized is $5,540.  

Kristopher FABER, 43 years of age from Goderich has been charged with:

  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking,
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking,
  • Possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking,
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon, butterfly and spring-assisted knives – (two counts),
  • Possession of weapons while prohibited – (three counts)

The accused was processed and is being held for a bail hearing scheduled at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

Meth Bust – Harmanjot Singh SOHAL

(MALLORYTOWN, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired care and control of a vehicle and possession of suspected illicit drugs after officers spotted a fluid leak from a vehicle.

On August 28, 2024, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Leeds County OPP officers were called to investigate a parked vehicle that had a hydraulic fluid leak. Employees of the service centre reported to police that they had shared their concerns with the driver who was attempting to leave the area.

Officers arrived and observed a male, smoking something while sitting in a parked vehicle. Leeds officers requested assistance at the scene from the Ministry of Transportation and an OPP Drug Recognition Evaluator.

Suspected heroine and methamphetamine were seized, along with various drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, Harmanjot Singh SOHAL, age 26 from Caledon, was arrested and has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – Heroin

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on September 27, 2024.

Joseph HOLLIDAY Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A prohibited driver was charged after being stopped in Simcoe by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

At approximately 6:14 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU conducted a traffic stop and investigation on Hackberry Lane in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

As a result, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

During a search of the individual, officers discovered and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 53-year-old Joseph HOLLIDAY of Norfolk County:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code,
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

Travis JACKSON Charged Following Death

(LONGLAC, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged with a drug trafficking offence following a death investigation in Longlac.

On April 3, 2023, at approximately 12:15 p.m., members of the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency medical services responded to a death at a residence on Louisa Street.

The deceased was identified as 51-year-old Rhonda REUBEN of Longlac. A post-mortem examination was conducted at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto to determine the cause of death.

On August 21, 2024, as a result of the investigation, Travis JACKSON, 42 years old, of Thunder Bay, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Schedule I substance – opioid, contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date.

The investigation in continuing by the OPP Northwest Region Crime Unit, Regional Support Team, and OPP Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed several search warrants in Simcoe County, seizing a quantity of drugs, weapons, including a firearm and Canadian currency.

In June 2024, the Orillia Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) commenced an investigation into a group drug traffickers who were operating throughout Simcoe County. Orillia CSCU, with the assistance of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Vancouver Police Department were able to obtain judicial authorization on several different types of warrants and production orders which lead to the identity of the involved traffickers.

With this valuable information, combined with other police investigative techniques, Orillia CSCU obtained search warrants for different locations within Simcoe County.

On August 21, 2024, Orillia CSCU executed numerous search warrants and recovered:

  • A loaded Glock 43 9 mm handgun
  • 214 grams of Fentanyl
  • 218 grams of Cocaine
  • 58 grams of Heroin
  • $12 000 Canadian Currency
  • Several prohibited knives
  • Stolen Police bullet proof vest
  • 7 cellular devices
  • Swastika/nazi paraphernalia

As a result of this investigation, 5 people have been charged.

(CARLING, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged three people with weapons and drug related offences after a traffic stop on Highway 400 in Carling Township.

On August 21, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m. officers stopped the vehicle for a sobriety check and observed cannabis readily available. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating a firearm, high-capacity magazine, over $500 of Canadian currency and suspected Fentanyl with an estimated street value of approximately $200,000. 

Terrence FRAY,21-years-old from North York was arrested and charged with:

Kaleb DEMOUR – Drug Trafficking

(SAULT STE MARIE, ON)- OPP execute drug warrant in Sault Ste Marie.

In the summer of 2024, Sault Ste Marie and Superior East Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) and the OPP’s Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB), began an investigation related to drugs being trafficked from Sault Ste Marie to Wawa.

On August 20, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the OPP’s CSCU and POIB assisted by the Sault Ste OPP Detachment, and Sault Ste Marie Police Service’s Canine Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit and Emergency Services Unit, arrested an individual in the City of Sault Ste Marie and seized approximately $4500 in Canadian currency. 

Later, on this same afternoon a drug warrant was executed at a residence on Durban Street in Sault Ste Marie. Police seized over 16 grams of suspected fentanyl (estimated street value $2400) and over 55 grams of suspected cocaine (estimated street value $6000), and drug paraphernalia.

Kaleb DEMOUR, 30 years-of-age from Sault Ste Marie was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste Marie Video Bail on August 21, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(PEMBROKE, ON) – Two individuals are facing drug charges after a traffic stop in the City of Pembroke.

On the afternoon of August 15, 2024, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of patrol officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the OPP conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Pembroke Street West in Pembroke.

A quantity of suspected fentanyl was seized by police, along with packaging materials, cash, and cell phones. Two occupants of the vehicle were arrested without incident.   

As a result of the investigation 27-year-old Emrah AHMETI of Ottawa and 44-year-old Jaclyn SHAFFER of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Township have each been charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  • Traffick a schedule I substance – fentanyl
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

SHAFFER faces an additional CC charge of failing to comply with a probation order.

AHMETI was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody until his next court appearance on August 23, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke. SHAFFER was held for a bail hearing and was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 17, 2024.

11 Kilo Drug Bust

(ASPHODEL-NORWOOD TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in relation to a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation.

On August 15, 2024, one suspect was arrested after a CDSA Search Warrant was executed in Norwood by members of the Peterborough/Northumberland CSCU and the City of Kawartha Lakes/Haliburton Highlands CSCU with assistance from the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA). Two suspects were arrested after a second Search Warrant was executed at a Richmond Hill location as part of the same investigation.

The following items were seized as a result of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Search Warrant:

  • 11 kilograms of Ketamine
  •  25 grams of Ketamine
  • Approximately 5000 Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) pills, commonly known as ecstasy
  • 9mm Glock handgun with an extended capacity magazine,
  • 98 – 9mm rounds of ammunition
  • 7 cell phones
  • 5 digital scales
  • 2 laptops and 1 tablet

Jonathan DRAIN (age 39) of Norwood, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Conspiracy to Trafficking a Schedule 1 Substance

  • Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm

Biao CHEN (age 32) of Richmond Hill, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

$29,000 Drug Bust – Names Released

(ESPANOLA, ON) – The Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged multiple individuals with drug and weapon offences.

On August 18, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Manitoulin OPP were conducting general patrol on Highway 6 in Espanola when they observed a vehicle travelling northbound. Officers conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

Upon speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, police could smell an odour of cannabis. Police conducted a search of the vehicle and its occupants. During the search police located a loaded handgun, approximately $7,000 in Canadian currency, approximately 195 grams of suspect cocaine, and suspected hydromorphone and oxycodone pills with an estimated street value of $29,000. All occupants of the vehicle were subsequently arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Kaleb BORDEN, 22-years-old from Thornhill has been charged with:

  • Possession of a prohibited device for a dangerous purpose
  • Transport firearm in a careless manner
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm

Drug Bust – Names Released

(NORFOLK COUNTYON) – Two individuals have been arrested and are facing multiple charges.

On August 15, 2024, at approximately 5:20 p.m., members of the Haldimand and Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit, took two individuals into custody after they were observed inside a motor vehicle on Windham Road 13, Norfolk County.

The investigation determined that the driver was prohibited from driving and was subsequently taken into custody.

As a result of further investigation, the passenger was also taken into custody.

A quantity of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, as well as drug paraphernalia, cash and property were seized.

John BAVERSTOCK, 42-years-old of Norfolk County remains in custody and has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while Prohibited Under the Criminal Code (two counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (three counts)
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Drive While Under Suspension (two counts)
  • Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle

Ria LANE, 29-years-old of Norfolk County has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (three counts)
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on later dates.

Massive Meth & Cocaine Bust – Kuldeep Singh OTAL Arrested

(ORANGEVILLE, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a male connected to multiple criminal investigations.

On August 15, 2024, members of the Dufferin and Caledon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), along with frontline officers, executed 2 search warrants at an address in Orangeville.

Kuldeep Singh OTAL, a 43-year-old from Brampton has been charged with:

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000- (eight counts)

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Methamphetamine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine

·      Altering/Destroying a vehicle identification number

As a result of the investigation the following was recovered:

·      15 bricks x 1100 grams= 16,500 grams of cocaine

·      560 grams of Methamphetamine

·      6 x 53″ trailers

·      2 x Tractor Trailers

·      Money Counter

·      Vacuum Sealer

The accused individual was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville, to answer to the charges.
