Drug Bust – Names Released

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On September 11th, 2024 at approximately 11:38 a.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol & conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence along Highway 11-17 near Lakeshore Drive, within the Municipality of Shuniah.

Throughout the investigation, a search of the vehicle revealed suspected cocaine, fentanyl & other items related to drug trafficking. The total street value of the suspected cocaine & fentanyl that was seized is approximately $22,000.00.

Subsequently, four individuals were arrested for drug offences.

As a result of the investigation:

A 17-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;

Leshaunda MURRAY, 30, of London, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle, contrary of the Highway Traffic Act;
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act;
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available, contrary to the Cannabis Control Act;

Sky BROWN, 31, of London, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;

Kyler JOHNSON, 29, of Toronto, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • Breach of Recognizance, contrary to the Criminal Code;

The four accused were held in-custody for a bail hearing scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on September 12th, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(MARATHON, ON) – Four people are facing multiple charges including Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) offences following a traffic stop in Marathon. A significant amount of suspected Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Oxycodone and a large amount of Cannabis were seized as a result of the traffic stop.

On September 8, 2024, members of the Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were notified by members of the Anishinabek Police Service (APS) who observed an individual near Highway 17 and Peninsula Road known to have an outstanding warrant. APS members performed a traffic stop and arrested the driver of the motor vehicle after confirming the warrant.

Marathon OPP members attended to take over the investigation. Search incident to arrest revealed the driver was in possession of suspected cocaine. Police observed an open can of liquor and subsequently performed a search of the vehicle under the Liquor Licence Control Act.

A search of the vehicle revealed a significant amount of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabis, oxycodone, multiple items related to drug trafficking and open liquor. Subsequently all vehicle passengers were arrested for CDSA offences, and all contraband was seized.

Total street value of all of the suspected CDSA that was seized is approximately $14,000.

As a result of the investigation, the following people are charged:

Bradley Pawlowski, 35-years-old, of Marathon is charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (Oxycodone)

·      Possession of over 30g dried Cannabis in a public place

Ian Turner, 34-years-old, of Terrace Bay is charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of over 30g dried Cannabis in a public place

·      Fail to Comply with Probation Order

 Geoffery Barry, 35-years-old, of Schreiber, is charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of over 30g dried Cannabis in a public place 

Kristian Bouchard, 28-years-old, of Pays Plat, is charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of over 30g dried Cannabis in a public place

The accused Bradley Pawlowski was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 11, 2024.

All other accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon on October 16, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(PEMBROKE, ON) – Three people are facing Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) charges after drug seizures in the City of Pembroke.      

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), and members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Crime Unit, executed two search warrants on September 4, 2024, at residences on Mary Street and Moffat Street in Pembroke.

Police seized suspected cocaine and fentanyl, cells phones, digital scales, packaging materials and a quantity of cash.

As a result of this investigation 57-year-old Blake TYSICK of Pembroke is charged with the following CDSA offence:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

Denise DUPLESSIS, age 33 of Pembroke, is charged with the following CDSA offence:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

Awale Abdunsir ADEM, age 22 of Ottawa, is charged with the following CC and CDSA offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

TYSICK and ADEM were held for bail hearings, and both were subsequently released to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 24, 2024, and October 7, 2024, respectively. DUPLESSIS was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on October 7, 2024.

Cocaine Bust

(ORANGEVILLE, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a duo connected to drug related offences.

On August 6, 2024, members of the Dufferin Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant, as a result of their investigation they have arrested and charged a male and female from the community.

Kyle Mackenzie, a 37-year-old from Orangeville has been charged with:

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance- Cocaine

A 36-year-old female from Orangeville has been charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

As a result of the investigation the following was recovered:

·      30.7 grams of Cocaine

·      Canadian Currency

·      2 Scales

·      2 Cellphones

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville, to answer to the charges.

Jessica TULLETT Facing Numerous Charges

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – Members of the Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a driver of a stolen vehicle with multiple offences in the Town of Collingwood.

On September 9, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in a retail complex on Mountain Road. When police approached the vehicle in the parking lot, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Due to public safety concerns, police did not attempt to pursue the vehicle.

Police located the vehicle a short distance away in a residential area. The driver had crashed into a curb and fled from the scene. After a short foot pursuit, the driver was located and arrested.

The investigation has revealed that the vehicle and licence plate were stolen within York Region. In addition, police seized multiple items including 0.5 grams of Cocaine, 13.9 grams of Methamphetamine, an expandible baton, and bear spray.

The OPP learned that the accused was wanted on three outstanding arrest warrants held by the Toronto Police Service and the Peel Regional Police Service for similar offences.

As a result, Jessica TULLETT, a 29-year-old from Shelburne, was charged with the following offences:

·      Operation While Prohibited

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

·      Possession of an Identity Document – Four Counts

·      Possession of Breaking In Instruments

Drug Bust – Three Arrested

(SD&G, ON)- The Stormont Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals with trafficking illegal drugs. 

The investigation began in April 2024.

On September 5, 2024, the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by members of the Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau executed multiple search warrants at addresses in Long Sault, Ingleside and Cornwall. The operation also included the OPP Physical Surveillance Unit, Biker Enforcement Unit, Cornwall Police and members of SD&GOPP.      

Three individuals were arrested. 

Canadian currency, a taser, imitation firearms, machetes, Loners MC attire and items and suspected cocaine were seized.

Robert CASSELMAN, age 78 of Long Sault was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 

Shawn LEWERTOFF-THEOBALD, age 33 of Valleyfield, Quebec, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

Daniel CAMERON age 36 of Cornwall was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Failure to comply with release order – six counts
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – five counts.
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000

LEWERTOFF-THEOBALD and CASSELMAN were release from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall at a later date. CAMERON remains in custody.

Meth Bust – Rampreet SINGH

(MALLORYTOWN, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired care and control of a vehicle, possession of suspected illicit drugs and possession of an imitation firearm, after a company requested officers check on their driver.

On September 6, 2024, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Leeds County OPP officers were called to investigate an overdue driver. The company indicated to officers that its commercial vehicle was located at the north service centre since 8:00 a.m. that morning, and requested officers conduct a wellness check on the driver.

Officers arrived and observed the parked vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest, and suspected heroine, suspected methamphetamine and an imitation firearm were seized.

As a result of the investigation, Rampreet SINGH, age 25 from Caledon, was arrested and has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Heroin

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on October 4, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(TYENDINAGA TOWNSHIP, ON) – Three people face multiple charges after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized drugs and cash at two residences in Deseronto.

On September 5th, 2024, the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County detachment, as well as the OPP Canine Unit, executed two search warrants at addresses on Mill Street and Brant Street in Deseronto.

A quantity of suspected cocaine and oxycodone pills were seized. Paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking, cell phones, a prohibited weapon, and a large amount of Canadian currency was also seized.

Natinael TESFAGABIR, 22 years old, of Toronto and Jennifer THOMPSON, 32 years old, of Deseronto were arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
  • Unauthorized possession of weapon
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

Charlene HANNAH, 62 years old, of Deseronto, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

All accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Joshua LEMAY Facing Numerous Charges

(MIDLAND,ON) – A traffic stop by police of a speeding Dodge Dart on Yonge Street, Midland has resulted in the seizure of a considerable amount of street drugs, Canadian currency and weapons resulting in criminal charges for a Midland resident.

Two members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment conducted the vehicle stop at approximately 8:16 p.m. August 28, 2024 resulting in the officers entering into a Highway Traffic Act investigation. During the course of this investigation, the officers entered into Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation resulting the seizure of substances that appear to be Methamphetamine, Oxycodone, Heroin, Psilocybin and Cocaine along with drug paraphernalia. Also seized was a imitation .45 caliber BB pistol during this investigation. (see attached photograph)

Charged with the following criminal offences is Joshua LEMAY 35 years of Midland.

  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

$400,000 Fentanyl Bust

(KENORA, ON) – Police have arrested and charged two individuals after a traffic stop led to the seizure of a large quantity of fentanyl with a street value of approximately $400,000.

On September 2, 2024, as a result of an investigation led by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, with assistance from the OPP Kenora Community Street Crime Unit, OPP Kenora Detachment and Treaty Three Police Service, a traffic stop was conducted in Kenora.

The two occupants in the vehicle were arrested and charged with drug-related offences.

Jashanpreet SINGH, age 20 and Karanpreet SINGH, age 23 both of Brampton have been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The fentanyl seized is believed to have been destined for Kenora and the surrounding communities.

Drug & Weapon Bust – Tanya SMITH

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – Search warrant in Leamington leads to drug possession, drug trafficking and possession of stolen property charges for two individuals.

On August 22, 2024, members of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), OPP Canine (K9) and OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Russell Street in the Municipality of Leamington.

CSCU members recovered just over $8,400 worth of illicit drugs, approximately $2,000 in recovered property and just under $300 in Canadian currency.

Tanya SMITH, a 46-year-old of Kingsville, has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

  • Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada (two counts)
  • Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 4, 2024.

The investigation is continuing.

$100,000 Drug Bust

(Kenora, ON) – An investigation led by the Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB) and the OPP Canine Unit executed a Search Warrant in the area of Rabbit Lake, Kenora.  As a result of this search warrant charges were laid against one individual.

On August 25th, Brendon Phillips, 34 years old, of Kenora, was arrested for weapons related offences in the area of Rabbit Lake, Kenora.

Shortly thereafter a search warrant was executed in a residence in the area of Rabbit Lake, Kenora, where a quantity of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, prescription opioids, 4 replica pistols and items used to traffic controlled substances were seized. Estimated street value of these drugs are over $100 000.

As a result of the investigation, Brendon Phillips, has been arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substance’s Act:

  • Five counts of possession of a schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

Drug & Weapons Bust – Names Released

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – A traffic stop on a known suspended driver resulted in the arrest of two people and seizure of a quantity of drugs, weapons and money.

On August 31, 2024, at approximately 4:30 pm an officer with the Fort Frances Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of King’s Highway after he recognized the suspended driver.  

The driver was arrested on scene for the offence and a vehicle search was conducted incident to the arrest. The search uncovered a quantity of illegal substances which resulted in an additional arrest for the driver as well as the arrest of the passenger.

As part of the investigation police seized approximately $2100 in combined Canadian and American currency, a quantity of suspected fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, and Percocet tablets, approximately 400 unmarked cigarettes, open liquor, scale, and two collapsible batons similar to the kind carried by police.  

Erik Scott LAPISH, 52-years-old, from Fort Frances is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (two counts) – Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (three counts) – Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – Criminal Code
  • Drive while under suspension – Highway Traffic Act
  • Operate unsafe vehicle – Highway Traffic Act
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes for sale – Tobacco Tax Act
  • Sell unmarked cigarettes – no wholesaler permit – Tobacco Tax Act

LAPISH is also charged with several documentation offences under the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was remanded to custody on the Criminal Code and CDSA charges. He is scheduled to appear in the Fort Frances Ontario Court of Justice on September 3, 2024, for a bail hearing. The remaining charges are scheduled to be spoken to on November 8, 2024, in Provincial Offences Court in Fort Frances. 

Carrie Lynn KELLAR, 43-years-old, of Fort Frances is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – Criminal Code 
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (three counts) – Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – Criminal Code

The accused was released by police and is scheduled to appear in the Fort Frances Ontario Court of Justice on November 4, 2024, to speak to the charges.

Gregory KOZLOWSKI Was Arrested

(ATIKOKAN, ON) – A drug trafficking investigation in Atikokan resulted in an arrest and seizure of approximately 115 grams of cocaine.

On August 30, 2024, at approximately 2:30 pm, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Atikokan assisted by the Rainy River District OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), and the Northwest Region Canine Unit stopped a vehicle travelling from Thunder Bay to Atikokan.

As part of the investigation the driver was arrested, and the vehicle was searched incident to arrest. Officers located approximately 115 grams (4 ounces) of suspected Schedule I cocaine worth an estimated street value of $11,500. Police also seized the vehicle and cell phone as offence related property.

Gregory KOZLOWSKI, 30-years-old from Atikokan is charged with one count of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to have a bail hearing on August 31, 2024.

Meth Bust – Douglas POLLARD

(MANITOUWADGE, ON) – One individual is facing drug charges following a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant in the Town of Manitouwadge.

On August 29, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Response Team and Manitouwadge OPP Detachment, executed a CDSA search warrant at a residence on Wendego Street.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of 125 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, codeine, and 13,000 illegal cigarettes. Canadian currency and other items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.

As a result, Douglas POLLARD, 52-years-old, of Manitouwadge, has been arrested and charged under the CDSA, Criminal Code, and Tobacco Tax Act with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamines

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs

·        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

·        Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes for Sale

·        Trafficking in Contraband Tobacco

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
