Drug Bust – Names Released

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Ontario Provincial Police – Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Kawartha Lakes Police Service – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP K9 executed a section 11 CDSA Search Warrant on a residential property in the Town of Lindsay. As a result of the warrant a quantity of crack cocaine, fentanyl, proceeds of crime, indicia of drug trafficking and a stolen Toronto Firefighter badge was seized.

The following have been arrested and charged:

Matthew RUTTAN, 44 years of age, of Lindsay was charged with:

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

Braydon MISANCHUK, 23 years of age, of Lindsay was charged with:

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x2

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

Both accused were held for a Bail Hearing with the Ontario Court of Justice.

Drug Bust

(TERRACE BAY, ON) – Members of the Schreiber Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges following a report of a suspicious person.

At approximately 8:30 pm on October 24, 2024 police responded to a call for assistance at a residence on Kenogami Road. A female in distress entered the residence then abruptly left with four individuals in a vehicle.

Police located the suspect vehicle in Terrace Bay and arrested three people, two with outstanding warrants. Upon search of the motor vehicle, police located suspected cocaine (approximately 30 grams), crack cocaine (approximately 9 grams) and speed tablets.

Following the investigation, Leona JACKO 25 years old, from Marathon has been charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking – amphetamine

Jason MOSES, 39 years old, of Pays Plat First Nation and Sheldon GULLIFORD, 39 years old of Marathon were both arrested on outstanding warrants.

Two accused were released and one held for bail.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Police arrested and charged two people with drug related offences.

On October 23, 2024, members from the Community Street Crime (CSC) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Nipissing West OPP conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Front Street, West Nipissing.

A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of cellular phones and drugs suspected to be fentanyl and cocaine, with an estimated street value of over $100,000.

As a result of the investigation, Lucie BEAUDRY, 37-years-of-age, and Mark CROMWELL, 35-years-of-age, both from West Nipissing and were arrested and charged with, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts each.

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on December 5, 2023, in West Nipissing.

Cocaine Bust – Names Released

(BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION, ON) – Two individuals are facing criminal charges after their vehicle was stopped by police.

On October 28, 2024, at approximately 1:01 p.m., the Batchewana First Nation Police were conducting general patrol when they observed a motor vehicle on August Street owned by a known suspended driver. A traffic stop was conducted and two individuals were located inside the vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle was found to be on conditions to remain outside Batchewana First Nation. The passenger was arrested and a search of the vehicle and both occupants located over 21 grams of suspected Cocaine and less than 1 gram of suspected Fentanyl.

The driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Jamie SHARPE, from White River was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than Heroin)

The passenger of the vehicle, 55-year-old Curtis LEACH, from Sault Ste. Marie was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance – Cocaine

Both accused individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 25, 2024 in Sault Ste. Marie.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(FORT FRANCES) In the early morning hours of Wednesday October 30, 2024 at approximately 1:00 a.m. Rainy River District OPP received reports of a possible break and enter in the Town of Fort Frances. Police attended the area and located a motor vehicle matching the description provided of the invovled motor vehicle leaving the scene. Police conducted a traffic stop of the motor vehicle. Upon speaking with occupants of the motor vehicle, police located an open alcoholic beverage in the motor vehicle. Upon police searching the motor vehicle police located a quantity of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine along with weapons for a dangerous purpose

As a result of the investigation the following indivudals have been charged

MURRAY BENINGER – 50 year old male from Fort Frances

  • Possession of Weapons for Dangerous Purpose x 2
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking –
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid

NICKOL HANDORGAN – 35 year old female from Fort Frances

Drug Bust – Names Released

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested two individuals after investigating a suspicious vehicle in the Municipality of West Elgin.

On October 27, 2024, at approximately 11:40 p.m., members of the Elgin OPP, St. Thomas Detachment, investigated a passenger vehicle in a parking lot near the intersection of Main Street and Argyle Street, Municipality of West Elgin.

As a result of the interaction police discovered the vehicle occupants were in possession of a quantity of illicit drugs, suspected to be cocaine and cannabis.

As a result, William WRIGHT, a 26-years-old from Wardsville was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place
  • Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

Additionally, Terri-Lynn BROOKS, a 25-years-old from Wardsville was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place

Both the accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on December 2, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(ATHENS, ON) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) has seized illegal drugs after an investigation in Athens.

The investigation began earlier this fall into drug trafficking in the area.

On Thursday, October 24, 2024, CSCU members, assisted by the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Canine Unit, Crisis Negotiators and a Critical Incident Commander, executed a search warrant at a home on Wiltse Street in Athens.

Officers seized over 100 grams of suspected crack cocaine and over 12 grams of suspected cocaine, as well as quantities of suspected MDMA, oxycodone and hydromorphone. They also seized a sawed-off shotgun, a 22-calibre rifle, ammunition, over $1000 in cash and items typically associated with drug trafficking. Two people were arrested at the scene.

Darren WARREN, age 54, and Cheryle WARREN, age 62, both residents of Athens, have been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – five counts
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
  • Careless storage of a firearm – two counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts

Darren WARREN was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today (October 25, 2024).

Cheryle WARREN has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on November 22, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(WALPOLE ISLAND FIRST NATION, ON) – Four individuals are facing drug trafficking charges after a search warrant was executed on Walpole Island First Nation.

On October 18, 2024, members from the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lambton County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Elgin-Middlesex CSCU, West Region OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services, and Walpole Island Police Service, executed a search warrant at an address on Union Hall Road, Walpole Island First Nation.

Police seized a large quantity of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine. Police also seized firearms, Canadian currency and other offence-related items.

The combined estimated value of the items seized is over $500,000.

Emerson SANDS, 33-years-old, Walter SANDS, 29-years-old, Donald PETERS, 58-years-old and Megan SHIPMAN, 25-years-old, all from Walpole Island First Nation, have been charged with the following:

·      Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl

Emerson SANDS was further charged with:

·      Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – three counts

·      Fail to comply with probation order

Donald PETERS was further charged with one count of Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

All four accused remain in custody after appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Sarnia.

Drug Bust – 3 Pills & 5 Grams Of Cocaine Taken Off Streets

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A drug trafficking investigation in Thunder Bay has resulted in the arrest of two individuals from Nova Scotia.

On October 10, 2024, a search warrant was executed at a residence on South Creek Square in Thunder Bay by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG), OPP Canine, the Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS), with assistance from the TBPS Emergency Tactical Unit (ETU) and members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

As a result of the search warrant, investigators seized:

  • More than $70,000 in Canadian currency
  • Approximately five grams of suspected cocaine
  • Three oxycodone tablets
  • Three cell phones
  • A digital scale
  • Packaging material
  • A gold chain and bracelet
  • A luxury watch

Matthew CATER, age 37 of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Na’Taejin SMITH, age 18 of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia have each been charged with the following three offences contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on November 19, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachments Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple drug related charges after assistance from the public led to information about two individuals completing drug transactions in a residential building in Orillia.

On October 24, 2024, shortly after 6 a.m., the Orillia Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of the Orillia OPP frontline enforcement officers, arrested two individuals after information received from the public led to evidence of drug trafficking in a local residential building on Fittons Road West near Park Street in the City of Orillia. The individuals were taken into custody without incident and have been charged with multiple drug trafficking charges after a quantity of drugs were seized.

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

·        1.2 grams of fentanyl

·        2 grams of methamphetamine

·        20 grams Cocaine

·        35 mixed capsules

·        Cellular device

Susanne BRADY, 56 years old, of Orillia, has been charged with:

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

Michael DILLMAN, 51 years old, of Orillia, has been charged with:

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on November 26, 2024, to answer to the charges.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple drug trafficking related charges after two individuals were causing a disturbance at a local business in the early morning.

On October 23, 2024, shortly after 8 a.m., the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested two individuals after they were causing a disturbance at a local business on Memorial Avenue in the City of Orillia. The individuals were taken into custody and have been charged with multiple drug trafficking charges after a quantity of drugs, Drug paraphernalia and Canadian currency were seized.

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

·        42 grams of fentanyl

·        8 grams of Crack Cocaine

·        30 grams Cocaine

·        $640 Canadian currency

·        Digital scale

·        Cellular device

Trevor STORIE, 42 years old, of North Bay, has been charged with:

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine – two counts

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

·        Fail to comply with probation order

·        Resist Peace Officer

Nicholas WILLIAMS, 34 years old, of Orillia, has been charged with:

·        Obstruct Peace Officer

·        Resist Peace Officer

·        Mischief

Both accused were held for a bail hearing to answer to the charges.

Mohammad NOFAL Was Arrested

(LONDON, ON) – Driver from London facing multiple charges after traffic stop at OPP RIDE Program.

On October 20, 2024, at 12:46 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were performing a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Program at Wellington Road and Highway 401 in the City of London.

A vehicle entered the program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.   

The driver of the vehicle was placed under arrest and was found to be in possession of illicit drugs, suspected to be cocaine.

As a result, Mohammad NOFAL, a 21-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Cannabis Control Act, with:

·      Possession of an identity document

·      Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Poss of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on December 20, 2023.

Wayne LESLIE Was Arrested

(TYENDINAGA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Saturday October 12th, 2024, just before 8:00 p.m., police were conducting stationary traffic enforcement on the Marysville Road Highway 401 on-ramp located in Tyendinaga Township. Police observed a vehicle drive past attempting to merge onto the Highway 401 westbound. The vehicle had a burnt-out taillight. Police conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle on Highway 401 Westbound.

During the traffic stop police observed alcohol and cannabis in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle reveled one gram of suspected cannabis, two grams of suspected hash, one gram of suspected cocaine, thirty-three grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, and $11 000 in cash.

The driver was arrested at the scene.

Wayne LESLIE, age 48 of Kingston, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on November 26, 2024

Stephanie HENRY – Trafficking

(PRESCOTT, ON) – A drug trafficking investigation in Prescott has resulted in an arrest and the seizure of illegal drugs.

Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit and Grenville County OPP members executed a search warrant on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at a residence on King Street West. This was the result of an investigation to the sale of dangerous, illegal drugs.

Officers seized over 16-grams of suspected cocaine, over 12-grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, dozens of suspected methamphetamine (speed) pills, as well as suspected MDMA, psilocybin, hydromorphone pills and an unknown white powder. Officers also seized a stun gun (conducted energy weapon), cash, digital scales and a cell phone.

One person was arrested at the scene.

Stephanie HENRY, age 28 of Prescott, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – five counts
  • Possession of a Schedule 3 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

The accused was released from custody and is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on October 25, 2024.

Drug Bust – 7 Arrested

 (ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged 7 individuals with numerous drug offences after the execution of a search warrant in Ramara townships.

August 2024 Orillia OPP received information about a Cannabis Marijuana grow operation in the township of Ramara. Investigation revealed that the rural property was being utilized for a significant outdoor grow operation. Orillia CSCU was able to determine that the property was licensed for indoor cultivation only, however, the grow was outdoors and significantly over the licensed amount.

On October 9, 2024, members of the Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) from Orillia, Nottawasaga, Dufferin and Huronia West/Collingwood CSCU with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine (K9) executed a search warrant on a residence in Ramara. 

As a result of the investigation, 7 individuals have been arrested and the following items were seized:

·      2125 Cannabis Marijuana plants, valued at approximately $2,125,000

·      111 kilograms of dried Cannabis Marihuana, Valued at approximately $222,000 total value of seized items: $2,347,000

Yong LI, 68 years old from Ramara Township, was charged with:

•           Cannabis Act 9(2)- Possession for the purpose of distribution

•           Cannabis Act 12(6) – Unlawful cultivation of Marihuana

Lifang YANG, 56 years old from Scarborough, was charged with:

•           Cannabis Act 9(2)- Possession for the purpose of distribution

•           Cannabis Act 12(6) – Unlawful cultivation of Marihuana

Xuan ZHU, 56 years old from Thornhill, was charged with:

•           Cannabis Act 9(2)- Possession for the purpose of distribution

•           Cannabis Act 12(6) – Unlawful cultivation of Marihuana

Yanling SU, 57 years old from Markham, was charged with:

•           Cannabis Act 9(2)- Possession for the purpose of distribution

•           Cannabis Act 12(6) – Unlawful cultivation of Marihuana

Yanbing LI, 60 year old, no fixed address, was charged with:

 •          Cannabis Act 9(2)- Possession for the purpose of distribution

•           Cannabis Act 12(6) – Unlawful cultivation of Marihuana

WU-qin SU, 59 years old from Scarborough, was charged with:

•           Cannabis Act 9(2)- Possession for the purpose of distribution

Jiezhen CHEN, 57 years old from Vaughan, was charged with:

•           Cannabis Act 9(2)- Possession for the purpose of distribution

The seven accused persons were released for future court appearances
