Drug Bust – Names Released

(PETERBOROUGH COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Peterborough County / Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) have arrested four individuals in relation to an ongoing trafficking investigation.

On Wednesday January 22, 2025, members of the Peterborough/Northumberland CSCU made an arrest of two individuals during a suspected drug transaction. The individuals were searched and officers seized 40.9 grams of Fentanyl and 7 grams of crack cocaine.

Officers further executed a search warrant of a location in the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan and further seized 23 grams of cocaine, 9.9 grams of crack cocaine, 118 Percocet, drug packaging, digital scales, and $8,010 in Canadian currency. During the search, a third person, currently wanted by the Peterborough Police Service (PPS), was located and turned over to them.

A second search warrant was executed at a location in Peterborough City where a fourth (4th) person was located and arrested. During this search, officers seized an additional 77 grams of cocaine as well as $1,287 in Canadian currency. An additional unrelated person with multiple outstanding warrants with PPS was also located and turned over to them

John FOOTE (age 61) of Peterborough, ON., was arrested and charged with:

·      Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than heroin) – two counts

·      Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I substance – Cocaine

·      Possession of Proceeds obtained by Crime Over $5000

The accused was held for Bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.

Patrick MIDDLETON (age 38) of Peterborough, ON., was arrested and charged with:

·      Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than heroin)

 Jessica NEEDHAM (age 37) of Peterborough, ON, was arrested and charged with:

·      Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than heroin)

·      Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I substance – Cocaine

·      Possession of Proceeds obtained by Crime Over $5000

Both these accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on February 18, 2025.

A fourth accused, a 45-year-old from Peterborough, ON., was arrested and charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of proceeds obtained by Crime Under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough at a later date.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged four people after a traffic stop on Ottawa Avenue in Elliot Lake.

On January 21, 2025, at approximately 12:45 p.m., police stopped a vehicle after recognizing a person who was wanted on outstanding charges. The person was uncooperative with police, resisting arrest, assaultive, and attempted to disarm an officer. Police were able to safely and effectively arrest all four people from the vehicle and approximately 43 grams of suspected Fentanyl was seized – with an approximate street value of $10,900.   

Corey HIGDON, 50-years-old, of Elliot Lake was charged with:

  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest
  • Attempt to disarm Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
  • Assault
  • Failure to comply with release order – two counts
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Forcible confinement

This accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on January 22, 2025.

Mitchell GENTILE, 35-years-old, of Elliot Lake was charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid. 

Krystal ROL, 35-years-old, of Elliot Lake was charged with – Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid. 

Jennifer STUBBERT, 43-years-old, of Elliot Lake was charged with – Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid. 

These three accused persons are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on March 13, 2025.

Abraham PETITHOMME Facing Numerous Charges

(SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged two people for drug related offence, after stopping a vehicle for stunt driving.

On January 19, 2025, shortly after 11:00 p.m., the Sudbury Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) Team of the OPP, conducted a traffic stop on Highway 69, Sudbury.

The vehicle was travelling 50 kilometres an hour, greater than the posted speed limit. The driver was arrested for stunt driving and found to be a suspended driver.

Police seized cellular phones, credit cards, Canadian currency and drugs suspected to cannabis and a brick of cocaine with an estimated street value of $100,000.

As a result of the investigation, Abraham PETITHOMME, 24-years-of age, from Toronto was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of an identity document
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Possess – credit card data

The passenger of the vehicle, Joel DAVIS, 18-years-of-age, from Toronto was also arrested and charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine.

Both accused were held for Bail Court, then remanded back into custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 22, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 30-day Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

Officer Assaulted – Benjamin CLARK Charged, Drugs A Factor

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – A traffic complaint leads to one person being charged with several offences.

On January 13, 2025, at approximately 6:15 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 11 in Coleman Township.

The OPP located the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to detachment for further testing. Additionally, police seized a suspected amount of cocaine and heroin.

The driver was charged with several offences contrary to the Criminal Code (CC), the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) and the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

Benjamin CLARK, 39 years-of-age of New Liskeard was charged with:

  • Assault Peace Officer
  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Possession of substance – heroin
  • Possession of substance – cocaine       
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Operation while prohibited under criminal code
  • Drive without proper headlights
  • Drive without proper rear light      
  • Follow too closely

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS). They are scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on January 28, 2025.

Drug Bust – Names Released

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made two arrests and laid more than a dozen charges after a drug trafficking investigation dubbed Project Thriller.

In November of 2024, members of the 2 District Street Crime Unit began investigating two traffickers using rental vehicles and operating throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

On January 13, 2025, HRPS officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Thorold. Both suspects were located inside the residence and arrested. Police also executed a search warrant at a storage locker in Beamsville and on two additional vehicles.

As a result of the search warrants, the following items have been seized by investigators (see attached photo):

  • 13.5 ounces of fentanyl
  • 3.5 ounces of cocaine
  • 6 ounces of crack cocaine
  • 6.5 ounces of methamphetamine
  • 75 oxycodone pills
  • 20 clonazepam pills
  • Indicia of drug trafficking (scales, packaging)
  • Two brass knuckles
  • Prohibited knife
  • Two replica handguns
  • Approximately $1,000 in Canadian currency 

As a result of the investigation, Owen Ewald, a 21-year-old male of Kitchener has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Crack Cocaine (2 counts)
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Clonazepam
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Oxycodone
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine (2 counts)
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon (2 counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Driving while under suspension

Isa Hosein a 25-year-old male of Thorold has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Crack Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Clonazepam
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Oxycodone
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon (2 counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

Drug & Weapons Bust

(CLARENCE-ROCKLAND, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit has laid numerous drug and weapon charges in Rockland.

A drug trafficking investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at a residence on Laurier Street.

Officers from the Street Crime Unit and Russell County OPP Detachment seized quantities of suspected cocaine and suspected methamphetamine tablets. They also seized items typically associated with drug trafficking, as well as a conducted energy weapon (stun gun) and a machete. One person was arrested at the scene.

Luc DECARIE, age 50 of Rockland, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts
  • Possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime-under $5000
  • Operation of a vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – two counts

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal and is scheduled to appear in court again on February 12, 2025.

Meth Bust – Names Released

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – An investigation led by the Thunder Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), has led to charges being laid against five individuals.

On Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, members of the Thunder Bay Community Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Thunder Bay Detachment and east-side CSCU members, Thunder Bay Police Service Emergency Task Unit (ETU), Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP K9 unit, Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE), and Bail Safety Team executed a warrant in the city of Thunder Bay. This was the result of a months-long investigation into drug trafficking throughout the region. Officers seized cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, weigh scales and currency from this residence. 3 individuals were arrested and charged.

Later in the day, members of ROPE conducted a traffic stop and arrested another suspect in the investigation for outstanding warrants. The driver and passenger were arrested and charged, and a quantity of cocaine, currency, and a pistol magazine were found in the vehicle they were operating.

On Thursday, January 16th, 2025, Thunder Bay CSCU, assisted by TBPS ETU and members of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), executed another warrant at a residence in Thunder Bay. Officers seized a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, a loaded handgun, and 2 rifles from the residence.

As a result of the investigation, the following evidence was seized:

•                 142.18g of cocaine

•                 305g of methamphetamine

•                 1 handgun & ammunition

•                 2 rifles

•                 Scales, baggies, etc., and other evidence of drug trafficking

As a result of the investigation, five individuals have been charged.

Joe ROBINSON, a 22-year-old from Thunder Bay, Ontario has been arrested and charged with:

·      Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 3 contrary to the Criminal Code

·      Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition x3 contrary to the Criminal Code

·      Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code

Speeding Leads To Drug & Weapons Charges

(LEEDS AND THOUSAND ISLANDS TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has seized illegal drugs and a loaded handgun near Gananoque.

OPP officers stopped a speeding car on Highway 401 eastbound, between Highway-137 and Gananoque, shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025. They determined that the driver was breaching release conditions related to a previous matter and arrested the individual.

A search of the vehicle located a loaded handgun which had been converted to automatic firing, as well as two prohibited ammunition magazines. They also found more than one kilogram of suspected cocaine, suspected MDMA and other suspected illegal drugs. Two other people in the vehicle were also arrested.

Misha’al KAMIL ALSHAMMIRY, age 36, Adam OLOW, age 28, and Dianna NGUYEN, age 32, all residents of Ottawa are each charged with:

  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Making an automatic firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
  • Occupant of a vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – two counts

KAMIL ALSHAMMIRY is also charged with:

  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order – four counts
  • Failure to comply with a release order

OLOW is additionally charged with:

  • Obstruct a peace officer
  • Personation with intent to avoid arrest
  • Failing to wear a seatbelt

All three of the accused were held in custody for a bail hearing today (Friday, January 17, 2025), before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville.

Kyle MATTS Facing Numerous Charges

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid drug trafficking related charges and seized a quantity of illicit drugs, Crossbow and a firearm after executing a search warrant in Mactier Georgian Bay Township.

In November of 2024, Orillia CSCU began investigating an individual who was allegedly trafficking drugs and in possession of a firearm. With assistance from Muskoka CSCU police were able to utilize investigative techniques and confirm the information.

On January 15th, 2025, satisfied with the information gathered, the Orillia CSCU with assistance from Collingwood CSCU and the Orillia Community Mobilization unit executed a search warrant at a Young St. address in Mactier. One person was arrested and safely brought into police custody

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized

.223 ammunition

Crossbows (3) and bolts

Drug & Weapons Bust

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid drug trafficking related charges and seized a quantity of illicit drugs and firearm after a takedown on Peter St.

In November of 2024, Orillia CSCU began investigating an individual for allegedly trafficking drugs in the City of Orillia. Utilizing investigative techniques police were able to observe consistent drug trafficking with this individual. On January 15th, 2025, satisfied with the information gathered and observations, the Orillia CSCU with assistance from Orillia OPP conducted a takedown of a motor vehicle. Three individuals were arrested and safely brought into police custody. Two OPP vehicles received minor damage during the stop.

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

1.7 Kilos Of Cocaine Seized

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A resident of East Gwillimbury and three others are facing charges under the Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) after nearly two kilograms of suspected cocaine was seized in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Thunder Bay.

On December 10, 2024, three search warrants were executed at residences in Thunder Bay and Kakabeka Falls by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG), OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Community Street Crime Unit, Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) Emergency Task Unit and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS). The Toronto Police Service Drug Squad also assisted with this investigation.

As a result of the search warrants, police seized:

  •       1.7 kilograms of suspected cocaine
  •       $257,000 in Canadian currency
  •       Four cell phones
  •       Three digital scales
  •       One laptop computer

The estimated street-value of the drugs seized is $170,000.

Malcolm PARCHMENT, age 30 of East Gwillimbury, Philip ARPIN, age 62 of Thunder Bay, April ARPIN age 43 of Thunder Bay and Lauritz PAJAMAKI, age 70 of Kakabeka Falls have each been charged with the following two offences under the CC and CDSA:

  •       Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  •       Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

One of the accused remains in custody and the other three accused were released. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on various dates.

Crediton Drug Bust – Names Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), and Huron County OPP detachment resulted in the seizure of weapons and stolen property. Criminal charges have been laid against two individuals.

An investigation that began in December 2024 eventually led investigators to an address in Crediton, Municipality of South Huron.

On Wednesday, January 08, 2025, a search warrant was executed on Victoria Avenue East in the Village of Crediton which resulted in the recovery and seizure of stolen property as well as, imitation firearms, knives, brass knuckles, firearm magazines, firearm components, and a stun gun. Two individuals have been arrested and charged.

Mitchell HARRIS, 36 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – (two counts),
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order – (two counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice, where they were remanded into custody.

Ryan GREEN, 43 years of age from Goderich has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter – (two counts),
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – (nine counts),
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose,
  • Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition – (three counts),
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order – (six counts),
  • Possession of Identity Document – (five counts),
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order – (eight counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice, where they were remanded into custody.

NURSE Arrested – $50,000 In Drugs

(Kingston, ON) – An Illicit drug investigation conducted by the East Region Community Street Crime Unit, has resulted in one individual being arrested, and a seizure of illegal drugs found in the vehicle being used to transport them to the Kingston area.

On January 9, 2025 members of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (OPP) stopped a vehicle traveling along the 401 Highway west of Kingston, and arrested the individual driving. A search of the vehicle by officers located a large quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine.

Over five-hundred grams of suspected cocaine and over six-hundred grams of suspected methamphetamine were seized from the vehicle. The estimated street value of the seizure is fifty-thousand dollars.

As a result of this investigation, Darrell Nurse, a 64-year-old male from Kitchener has been charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine.
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

The accused stayed in custody and was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, where he was remanded into custody.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Numerous Quinte West residents are faces drug trafficking charges after an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, CSCU, assisted by OPP Emergency Response Team members, the Canine Unit and Quinte West OPP members, executed a search warrant at a residence on Adrian Court, in the City of Quinte West. Six parties were taken into custody.  

Officers seized over 17 grams of suspected cocaine, nearly 14 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, and over $800 in cash. They also seized items typically associated to drug trafficking; cellular phones, digital scale, and a digital video recorder.   

Scott MARTIN, age 24 of Quinte West, has been charged with: 

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – two counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Erica VARLEY, age 33 of Quinte West, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – two counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Bradley DICKENS, age 55, Crissy MOORE, age 46, Shannon REID, age 55, and Amanda Young, age 40, all from Quinte West, all have been charged with two counts each of:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking

Martin and Young were held for a bail hearing and remanded in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville at a later date. VARLEY, DICKENS, MOORE, and REID were released and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville at a later date.

5 Arrested At Traffic Stop – Meth A Factory, Names Released

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – A traffic stop conducted by the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has led to impaired driving charges, as well as drug-related charges for all five vehicle occupants.

On January 4, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Riverside Drive in Kapuskasing. During their interaction with the driver, officers observed a bag of a substance suspected to be cocaine. The driver was determined to have had consumed an intoxicating substance and was arrested and transported to the Kapuskasing OPP detachment for further testing. Further investigation revealed additional suspected controlled substances, leading to the arrest of four passengers. Police seized drugs suspected to be crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, crack cocaine, dilaudid, and morphine, as well as cell phones, scales, and two switch blades.

As a result, Steve CHARTRAND, 49 years of age of Hearst, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

·        Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released from a bail hearing on January 6, 2025, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025, in Kapuskasing. In addition, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Further, Dakota BEDWASH, 31 years of age of Constance Lake, has been charged with:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

·        Fail to comply with probation order

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts

·        Obstruct peace officer

The above accused remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025, in Kapuskasing.

Further, Albert MOORE, 47 years of age of Constance Lake, has been charged with:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

The above accused was released from a bail hearing on January 6, 2025, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025, in Kapuskasing.

Further, Terrance SUTHERLAND, 34 years of age of Constance Lake, has been charged with:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

The above accused remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025, in Kapuskasing.

Further, Trisha WESLEY, 38 years of age of Hearst, has been charged with:

·        Fail to comply with a release order
