20 Year Old Facing Attempt Murder Charge

(PARRY SOUND, ON) – The Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad has located and arrested a third person, who had a warrant issued for their arrest, in relation to an ongoing shooting investigation in Parry Sound.

On Thursday, June 15, 2023, shortly after 1:30 a.m., members of the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an individual in hospital with injuries sustained following an incident at a local hotel. Two people have previously been charged in relation to this investigation.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Alexander YOUMANS, 20 years of age of Henvey Inlet First Nation, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·        Attempt to commit murder with a restricted or prohibited firearm, section 239(1)(a)

·        Possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, section 88

·        Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, section 95(1)

·        Disguise with intent, section 351(2)

·        Aggravated assault, section 268

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on Friday, April 11, 2025.

The West Parry Sound OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

TRUDEAU Facing Attempt Murder Chage

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – The Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is releasing the names of the arrested individuals in relation to the recent shooting investigation in Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.

On November 28, 2024, the Manitoulin OPP assisted the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS) with a shooting investigation that occurred in the area of Rabbit Island Road and Tomas Lane in Wikwemikong Unceded Territory. As a result of the altercation, one person sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Two people were safely taken into custody that same day.

As a result of the investigation, Terrance TRUDEAU, 26-years-old from Wikwemikong, was charged with:

  • Attempt to commit murder using a prohibited firearm, section 239(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, section 91(1) CC
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine, section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

Additionally, Shauna LIMIN, 28-years-old from Whitefish River First Nation, was charged with:

  • Accessory after the fact to commit indictable offence, section 463(b) CC
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, section 91(1) CC
  • Obstruct peace officer, section 129(a) CC

Both accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Gore Bay on November 29, 2024, and were remanded into custody.

The investigation is being conducted by the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS) and the Manitoulin OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

Attempt Murder – Travarn ATKINSON Arrested

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sioux Lookout Detachment, with support from the Northwest Region Crime Unit (NWR Crime), Major Case Investigations Team (MCIT), Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), and Regional Support Team (RST) have identified and arrested a third individual and recovered a firearm related to an active investigation into a weapons incident in the community of Sioux Lookout.

On the afternoon of August 16, 2024, members of the Sioux Lookout OPP responded to a weapons-related disturbance on Millar Crescent.

On September 6, 2024, shortly after 8 pm, Sioux Lookout officers were requested to remove unwanted persons from a residence on King Street, in the Municipality of Sioux Lookout. Officers attended and located and arrested an individual wanted in relation to this ongoing investigation. A restricted firearm was also recovered at the residence. 

Travarn ATKINSON, 23 years old, from Brampton, ON, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Attempt to Commit Murder using a Restricted Firearm – Two counts
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Discharge a Firearm into or at a Place in a Reckless Manner

The accused was remanded into custody and will next appear in front of the Ontario Court of Justice Kenora Bail Court, on September 11, 2024.

Attempted Murder – Justin LYONS Arrested

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Officers with the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest in connection with a serious assault in the City of Quinte West.

Officers were called to an apartment on King Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

A 34-year-old male was located with stab wounds and was transported by Hastings Quinte Paramedics to a regional trauma centre. The suspect in the incident had fled the scene. An extensive search of the area, by Quinte West officers, the OPP Emergency Response Unit and the OPP Canine Unit, did not locate the individual. 

On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, Quinte West OPP officers, and members of the Quinte West OPP Crime Unit, located and arrested the accused. 

Justin LYONS, aged 38 of Trenton, is charged with:

  • Attempt to commit murder
  • Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused remains in custody, with a bail hearing scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

Tenant Found Beaten #TennantBlacklist #TakeBackYourProperty

Chatham-Kent, Ontario: On March 10, 2024, at 8:03 a.m., emergency crews responded to a fire on Park Street in Chatham.

It was discovered a tenant was still inside the building. The tenant was located and safely extricated from the building by the Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue Services. However, he was found unconscious with visible injuries unrelated to the fire. The man was immediately transported to the hospital for medical attention, where it was determined that the injuries were life-threatening.

The investigation into the incident was subsequently turned over to the Chatham-Kent Police, Criminal Investigation Branch which resulted in a male suspect being identified.

On March 11, 2024, police located and arrested a 28-year-old Chatham man who was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing. He has been charged with break and enter, attempted murder, and arson – disregard for human life.

Awad KHAN – Attempt Murder, Weapons, Ect.

(TEMISKAMING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person in connection with an on-going investigation in Temiskaming.

Awad KHAN, 23 years-old, of Hamilton has been arrested and charged with 16 Criminal Code offences:

  • Attempt to commit murder using firearm
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Resist peace officer
  • Discharge firearm with intent
  • Assault peace officer
  • Firearm – use while committing offence
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Escape lawful custody
  • Discharge a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Dangerous operation

He remains in custody, pending his next court appearance on March 12, 2024.

Attempted Murder With Firearm

(PEMBROKE, ON.) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual after a shooting incident in Pembroke.

On February 23, 2024, just before 6:30 a.m., OPP responded to an Intimate Parter Violence (IPV) incident involving a shooting at a residence on McKenzie Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of this incident a 67-year-old Pembroke resident has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offence:

·        Attempt to commit murder using a firearm

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice. He remains in custody with a future court date. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim as this is an IPV incident.
