2 Arrested For Assault

(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Disturbance at a residence in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation leads to multiple charges for two individuals. 

On December 31, 2024, at 12:35 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Middlemiss Drive, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, for the report of a disturbance.

Investigation revealed two individuals had been assaulted.

The injuries were determined to be minor.

Randall KECHEGO, a 30-year-old of Munsee Delaware First Nation has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault with A Weapon
  • Assault (two counts)
  • Uttering Threats – Damage Property
  • Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence

Jasmine ALBERT, a 28-year-old of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      CC 267(a) Assault with A Weapon

·      Assault

Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence

The accused were held for bail.

Sleeping Victim Robbed And Beaten With Chain – Suspects At Large

On December 29, at 1:30am, the Sarnia Police Service responded to a report of an injured male party (alone) at a Christina Street North business, near Maxwell Street.

Police arrived to find a male suffering from obvious head wounds (multiple lacerations).  Lambton EMS attended and he was transported to Bluewater Health by paramedics. 

Officers reviewed the available security footage from the business.  That video depicted the male victim sleeping hunched over at an outdoor table.  Several individuals then appear on bikes, with one stealing a red bag of belongings from the sleeping victim.  A second individual then assaults the sleeping male with a weapon that appears to be a chain with makeshift handle.  The victim was struck over the head approximately 12 times causing the observed injuries.  The two main suspects then fled the area on bikes leaving the injured victim to be discovered later by an employee leaving the area.  A portion of the weapon was recovered. 

Suspect #1 was seen wearing a grey jacket, black pants, black shoes and a grey backpack.

Suspect #2  was wearing black pants, a black jacket with Reebok-like lettering.  He was wearing black Nike Jordan shoes with white symbols and white soles.

The 43 year old male victim was later released from hospital.

Meagan Coote Wanted in an Aggravated Assault Investigation

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a woman wanted in an Aggravated Assault investigation. 

On Friday, December 27, 2024, at approximately 3:36 a.m., police responded to a call for a Stabbing in the Queen Street West and Beaty Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

  • the suspect broke into a residential apartment unit
  • the suspect was armed with a weapon, and stabbed the victim multiple times
  • the victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries
  • the suspect left on foot in an unknown direction of travel

Meagan Coote, 43, of no fixed address is wanted for:

  1. Break and Enter
  2. two counts of Assault with a Weapon
  3. Aggravated Assault
  4. Disobey Lawful Order of Court

She is described as 5’6”, with a medium build, has dirty blonde hair, and light coloured eyes. She was last seen wearing a tan coloured jacket and a light brown knitted scarf.

Matthew BOSWORTH Arrested Again – Assault, Forcible Confinement

(THESSALON, ON)- Parent assaulted and restrained by sibling.  

On December 22, 2024, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a family dispute on Dawson Street in the Town of Thessalon.

The investigation revealed that an adult sibling had elbowed their parent in the face, then proceeded to headbutt them while restraining the parent in a chair for an extended period. The sibling also prevented the parent from leaving a bunkhouse on the property and pocketed their cell phone.

As a result, Matthew BOSWORTH, 30 years-old from Brantford, was charged with:

  • Assault
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Forcible confinement
  • Possession of a Schedule I Narcotic
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail in Blind River on December 23, 2024, and was remanded into custody.

Masked Gang Assaults School Faculty Member – #MasksR4Criminals

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police has arrested and charged a youth for assault with a weapon at a public school in the city of Kitchener.

On December 19, 2024 a group of youths all wearing face mask entered the school and was asked to leave by faculty. One of the youths grabbed a fire extinguisher from the same facility and discharged it towards the faculty member. The youths then left the school immediately after.

There are no reports of any physical injuries. 

The same group of youths went to a plaza in the area of Westmount Road East and Laurentian Drive. The group began yelling racial slurs at bystanders and assaulted a business owner as they were stealing merchandise. The youths then continued to another business where they caused minor property damage.

Police were able to locate and arrest one youth from this group and charged them with a number of Criminal Code offences and breaches.

Police are still actively seeking to identify the other youths involved in these incidents.

Four in Custody After Assault

Three males and one female are facing charges after a violent assault at a residence in Oshawa.

On Sunday, December 15, 2024, at approximately 5:10 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an unknown trouble call at a residence in the area of Graburn Avenue and Drew Street.  Police were called after three males were seen dragging another male into a residence.  Officers arrived on scene and saw several parties fleeing the residence.  One suspect was taken into custody without incident, while two other suspects remain outstanding.  A search of the residence located two additional males and a female, who were taken into custody without incident.  A firearm was also located inside the residence.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Nathan Daniel KELLY, age 36 from Oshawa is charged with: Aggravated Assault, Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited FirearmPossess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm – No Licence, Possession of a Prohibited Device, and Possession Contrary to Order.

Mackenzy Lee SIGOUIN, age 28 from Oshawa is charged with: Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited FirearmPossess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm – No Licence, and Possession of a Prohibited Device.

Kevin BOUTILIER, age 45 from Niagara Falls is charged with: Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited FirearmPossess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm – No Licence, Possession of a Prohibited Device, Possession Contrary to Order x2and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x3.

Daniel CARRIGAN, age 62 from Niagara Falls is charged with: Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited FirearmPossess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm – No Licence, and Possession of a Prohibited Device.

All parties were held for a bail hearing.

Repeat Offender Arrested Again – Dimitri HENRY: Assault With Weapon

(KENORA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Kenora have arrested and charged one individual with assault and weapons charges.

On December 12, 2024, at approximately 1:00 PM., members of the Kenora OPP Detachment responded to an incident on Water Street, in the City of Kenora. Officers attended and located and arrested a male. Through the investigation, it was learned that the male had assaulted several people on the property.

Dimitri HENRY, 30-years-old of Kenora Ontario has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Assault with a weapon

·      Assault

·      Failure to comply with release order

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora at a later date.

Another Spouse Assaulted

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges local resident with two criminal charges in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation.

On December 13, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address in Wellington North Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old of Wellington North Township, has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following:

  • Assault – spousal
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victims.

Assault In Howick – One Arrested

(HOWICK TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 12th, 2024, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Township of Howick.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner.

A 26-year-old individual from North Perth has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Mischief – Domestic.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled for the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025.

Assault In Walkerton – Kennedy WALSH-MCCUTCHEON Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – On December 10, 2024, at approximately 1:45 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an unwanted person at an address along John Street in Walkerton.

Investigation revealed that an individual brandished an edged weapon during an altercation. The accused had fled prior to police arrival, however were later located and arrested without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Kennedy WALSH-MCCUTCHEON, 25-years-old of Hanover, has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon, CC 267(a)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on January 15, 2025 to answer to the charge.

Jaden BURDETT – Robbery, Assault, Etc.

(PETROLIA, ON) – The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following a disturbance.

On December 8, 2024, shortly after 6:30 p.m., members of the Lambton County OPP responded to a disturbance at an address on Petrolia Line, Petrolia.

The investigation revealed the accused assaulted two unknown individuals and then attempted to steal one of the victim’s vehicles.

The accused fled the area prior to police arrival.

Police located the accused at which time they were taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, Jaden BURDETT, 22-year-old of Petrolia was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Assault
  • Robbery with violence
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Public Mischief

No injuries were reported.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on December 11, 2024, in the City of Sarnia.

Andrew DELANGE – Assault, Hit & Run, Fraud

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A tow operator was injured on December 4th after being struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene in the Municipality of South Huron.

On December 4th, 2024, just before 5:30 p.m., the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to a report of a truck vs pedestrian collision on Airport Line between Huron Street and Thames Road East in South Huron.

Emergency responders located one person who had been struck by a truck that fled from the scene. The injured tow operator was transported by Huron EMS to a local hospital where their injuries were deemed non-life threatening.

The involved vehicle was last observed leaving the scene northbound on Airport Line.

The police investigation revealed that the tow operator had removed the suspect vehicle from the ditch earlier, where it had been stuck in the snow. While waiting for payment, the driver of the suspect vehicle sped off and struck the tow operator, launching them into the ditch.

The OPP identified the involved vehicle and driver that fled the scene. Several criminal charges were laid against the vehicle driver on December 6th.

Andrew DELANGE, 21 years of age from London has been charged with:

–      Dangerous Operation,

–      Assault With a Weapon,

–      Failure to Stop After an Accident,

–      Fraud Under $5,000.

The accused was arrested and charged on December 6th, then released with a court appearance scheduled in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 27th, 2025.
