Drunk Driver Extricated From Vehicle

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Another impaired driver has been arrested and charged after they rolled their car into the ditch.

Just after 7:30 a.m. on January 8 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Service, and Perth East Fire Department responded to a single vehicle collision on Perth Road 135, in the Township of Perth East. The driver of the vehicle had to be extricated by the fire department, and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

During the investigation, officers determined that the driver had consumed alcohol, and was impaired. They were arrested and further testing was conducted.

Julie STEVERS, 36, of West Perth, has been charged with:

–       Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

–       Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

20 Year Old Tracked Down By K9 After Armed Robbery

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) On January 5, 2022 at approximately 1 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a person with a weapon in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. There were no injuries.

The Grey Bruce OPP Major Crime Unit (MCU) commenced an investigation with the assistance of the OPP K9 Unit and the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team.  

On January 6, 2021, the Grey Bruce OPP MCU arrested and charged Reiley WRAY, 20 years-of-age, of Owen Sound with the following offences:

·        Robbery using firearm

·        Pointing a firearm

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused was released and is scheduled to attend court on February 10, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

Repeat Offender Arrested For Assault In Listowel

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person was charged after an assault in the Municipality of North Perth.

On January 4 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault that occurred on Davidson Avenue North, Listowel. The accused had assaulted the victim with an object, and there were no injuries as a result of the incident.

Brantley BYERLAY, of no fixed address, has been charged with:

–       Assault with a Weapon

–       Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Cruiser Damaged, Meth A Factor – Four Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A traffic stop in the Municipality of North Perth in December has led to four people facing a variety of charges, seized drugs, and a damaged police cruiser.

Just before 1:30 p.m. on December 11 2021, a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on general patrol attempted to stop a vehicle travelling on Perth Road 164, south of Palmerston. The vehicle tried to flee the scene, and ended up colliding with the police cruiser, and came to rest in a ditch. No one was injured in the collision.

During the investigation, the occupants were found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. All four occupants were arrested and charged with drug related charges. Quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, hydromorphone and morphine were seized.

Rebecca BROWN, 33, of Wroxeter, has been charged with:

–       Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

–       Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (two counts)

–       Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine

–       Dangerous Operation

–       Flight from Peace Officer

–       Driving while Under Suspension

–       Carrying Concealed Weapon

–       Possession of an Identity Document

–       Possession of Imitation Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

–       Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

–       Driver – Fail to Properly Wear Seatbelt

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Evan HANEY, 25, of Kitchener, has been charged with:

–       Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

–       Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (two counts)

–       Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine

Blake HURST, 21, of Owen Sound, has been charged with:

–       Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

–       Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (two counts)

–       Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine

–       Possession of an Identity Document

Canden YOUNG-STONE, 30, of no fixed address, has been charged with:

–       Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

–       Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (two counts)

–       Possession of an Identity Document

The accused parties were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

The Perth County OPP was assisted by the Wellington County OPP and the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

Hit & Run Involving Meth & Stolen Vehicle

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person was charged after they drove while impaired, and struck an outbuilding at a residence in the Municipality of North Perth.

A Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on general patrol attempted to stop a vehicle on Ellen Street, in Atwood, just after 1:30 p.m. on January 2 2022. The vehicle then drove across the lawn of a nearby residence in order to flee from police, and struck an outbuilding on another property.

The heavily damaged vehicle then fled southbound onto Perth Road 164, and then westbound on Perth Line 72. It continued into Huron County, where it failed to stop for stop signs and drove dangerously into Clinton. The vehicle was abandoned by the driver, who fled on foot, and broke into a drive shed at a residence on Ausable Line, near Hensall. They were confronted by the homeowner, who contacted police.

With the assistance of the Huron County OPP, the male was located and placed under arrest. They were brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Homeowners Find Criminal In Home – 31 Year Old Arrested

(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) On January 6, 2022 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a residence located in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.   

Police arrived on scene and located the suspect a short distance away.

The Grey Bruce OPP have arrested and charged Samantha PLOUFFE-VACHON, 31 years-of-age, from Mono Township with the following offences:

·        Break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

·        Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution, or obstruct justice

·        Possession Break-in instruments.

The accused was release and is scheduled to attend court on February 17, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

Kincardine Resident Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On January 8, 2022 at 11:23 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report a Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV) collision along Park Street in Kincardine. Officers responded with Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) paramedics to find the driver had been drinking alcohol.

James HOLROYD, 41-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on February 9, 2022 to answer to the charges.

The accused was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

This charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

21 Year Old From North Perth Arrested For Drunk Driving

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Another impaired driver was arrested in Perth East, thanks to a traffic complaint from a member of the public.

On December 19 2021, just after 12:00 a.m. the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver heading towards Listowel. Officers located the vehicle on Perth Line 86, just east of Listowel, and determined the driver was impaired. They were arrested, and transported to a local operations centre for further testing.

Timothy MAYBERRY, 21, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–       Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

–       Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (Over 80)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 30-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Stun Gun Auction Leads To Arrest Of Clinton Resident


(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – 
A resident of Clinton is facing a criminal charge of Trafficking a Prohibited Device following a search warrant that was executed in Clinton.

After receiving information from a member of the public earlier in the week members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial (OPP) Detachment entered into an investigation pertaining to a “Stun Gun” that was being advertised for sale through an online auction. 

With the assistance of the Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) officers executed a search warrant at a premise located on Huron Street in Clinton. 

As a result of the search warrant officers seized a prohibited weapon (Stun Gun).

Donald MCISAAC, 43 years of age from Clinton has been charged with Trafficking a Prohibited Device. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 14, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Stolen Vehicle Destroyed By Fire

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a vehicle theft and subsequent arson that took place last week. 

On Wednesday, December 29, 2021 Huron OPP members received a call from a victim that reported her 2015 Ford Escape sport utility vehicle was stolen from her residence located on Winnipeg Road in Vanastra.

The vehicle was taken sometime between 10:30 p.m. on December 28th and 1:00 a.m. on December 29th. About an hour later police received a call about a burnt out vehicle located at a nearby gravel pit. Officers attended the scene and confirmed the burnt out vehicle was the same vehicle. 

Huron County OPP reminds vehicle owners to always secure your vehicle and take the ignition key with you. Whenever possible park in a garage or a well-lit area.

Death Threat(s) In North Perth

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A North Perth resident was charged after an altercation at a residence that involved a weapon.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded on December 17 2021, just before 2:00 a.m., after a report that someone had just been assaulted and threatened at a residence on Perth Line 72, in the Municipality of North Perth.

Police investigation revealed that the suspect had an edged weapon during the altercation, and uttered threats of death to the victim. There were no injuries sustained during the incident.

As a result, Edmund RYAN, 62, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–       Assault with a Weapon

–       Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Collison With Parked Cruiser Results In Drug Trafficking Charges

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A resident of Owen Sound is facing Impaired Operation and Drug Trafficking charges after he crashed into a parked police cruiser south of Goderich.

On December 23, 2021 just after 12:30 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer pulled over onto the shoulder of Bluewater Veteran’s Highway with his emergency lights activated to assist a motorist that was changing a flat tire. Shortly after doing so a northbound sport utility collided with the rear of the police vehicle launching it forward into the disabled vehicle.

Fortunately the officer and the family in the disabled vehicle were not injured however upon checking on the driver of the sport utility vehicle police noted the driver had sustained some minor injuries. The driver was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and later released into police custody.

While interacting with the driver of the sport utility vehicle officers noticed the driver was displaying signs of impairment. As a result he was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation. A subsequent search of the accused found him to be in possession of suspected Cocaine, Psilocybin and more than 30 grams of Cannabis. 

Michel WILLIMOT, 53 years of age from Owen Sound has been charged with Impaired Operation, Distribute Over 30 grams of Dried Cannabis, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine for the Purposes of Trafficking and Possession of a Schedule 3 Substance – Psilocybin. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 7, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Another From Morris-Turnberry arrested

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A traffic stop on New Year’s Day near Bluevale has led to charges against a Morris-Turnberry resident. 

On January 1, 2022 at approximately 9:18 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop of a sedan that was travelling in an erratic manner on Black Line. While speaking with the driver the investigating officer observed some open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle. Additionally, the officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. As such, a roadside screening test was conducted and the driver registered a fail. 

The driver was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of breath to the qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit. The investigating officer also checked on the licence status of the driver and it was revealed the driver held a suspended driver’s licence. 

Justin BIESINGER, 32 years of age from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus, Driving While Under Suspension and Drive Motor Vehicle With Open Container of Liquor.

5 Vehicles Stolen From Dealership

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a break and enter led to the theft of five vehicles from a local dealership in the Municipality of North Perth.

On December 31 2021, at approximately 2:30 a.m., two suspects arrived at the business on Wallace Avenue North, Listowel, and broke into the business. Once inside, car keys were taken. The suspects then proceeded to steal five vehicles, with a total value of over $140,000.

The suspects arrived in a small black compact vehicle.

The stolen vehicles are:

–       2016 Dodge RAM 1500 – Grey

–       2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 – White

–       2017 Dodge RAM 1500 – Black

–       2018 Audi A3 – White

–       2012 Mercedes Benz GLK350 – White

The 2018 Audi and 2012 Mercedes Benz were recovered in Wellington County but the three pick-up trucks remain outstanding.

Morris-Turnberry Resident Facing Drunk Driving Charge – Name Released

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A Morris-Turnberry resident is facing an Impaired Operation charge following an investigation conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On December 27, 2021 at 1:30 a.m. a Huron OPP officer was patrolling on Brussels Line when the officer came across a pickup truck that was stopped in the live lane of traffic. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer observed a driver that appeared to be sleeping. The officer was able to get the driver’s attention and upon speaking with him the officer observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. Further, the officer noted the driver was displaying several signs of impairment.

As a result, the driver was placed under arrest and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The driver provided two samples of breath to the Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit.

Bradley VANNIEKERK, 42 years of age from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with Operation While Impaired. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 14, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
