(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) – On September 20, 2022, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Highway 6 and Wellington Road 38, north of Guelph. Initial reports indicated that a motorcycle and a sedan had collided and that there were serious injuries.
The operator of the motorcycle, Brian L. JOLLEY, 47-years-old of Fergus, was pronounced deceased at scene. The operator of the sedan was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The roadway was closed for several hours. The Wellington County OPP and the Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team continue to investigate.
(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On September 19, 2022, just after 9:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a mischief at a Mitchell Road South address in the Municipality of North Perth.
It was determined that someone attended the address the previous night and punctured the fuel tank and destroyed a Canadian flag that was mounted on the vehicle.
Members of the Perth County OPP are continuing to investigate and is seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information, they are being asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
The OPP want to remind all residents that if they see anything suspicious to please contact police immediately. If anyone is found committing acts of mischief, appropriate charges with be laid.
(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Town of Goderich continue to prepare for an unsolicited and unsanctioned car rally event that may be heading to Goderich this weekend.
Similar events in other areas resulted in numerous car rally participants engaging in illegal acts including mischief, dangerous driving, impaired driving, disturbing the peace, break and entering, and other driving related offences.
Huron County OPP and the Town of Goderich recognize the negative impact these unorganized and illegal events can bring to a community thus significant resources are being utilized to protect and serve the community.
As always, responsible, respectful, and lawful visitors are always welcomed to the area however those looking to attend to jeopardize the safety of citizens and the community with risky, illegal and dangerous actions are asked to stay home.
Local citizens and visitors to Goderich should be prepared for possible temporary road closures. As specific delays or closures become known, Huron County OPP will forward information to media outlets for broadcast and will post advisories on the OPP West Region Twitter account.
Currently all roadways remain open for travel throughout the Town of Goderich.
(LONDON, ON) – Twenty-six individuals are facing numerous charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) after the execution of nine search warrants earlier this week.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) of Grey-Bruce and Huron-Perth began this investigation in May 2022 after an increase in overdose occurrences in the counties of Grey, Bruce, Huron and Perth.
On September 21, 2022, members from the OPP OCEB, CSCU, Grey Bruce Detachment, South Bruce Detachment, Huron Detachment, Perth Detachment, Biker Enforcement Unit, Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine and Tactics and Rescue Unit, with assistance from Owen Sound Police Service, executed nine search warrants in Huron County, Perth County, South Bruce County, Grey County and Owen Sound.
Throughout the course of this investigation, police seized approximately 160 grams suspected methamphetamine, 50 grams suspected fentanyl, 60 grams suspected cocaine, 6 grams suspected carfentanyl, more than 80 morphine pills and over 140 hydromorphone pills. Police recovered a variety of stolen property valued at more than $36,000 and more than $6,000 in Canadian currency. Two firearms were also seized during the search warrants.
The approximate street value of the drugs seized is $25,600.
The 26 accused have been charged with 111 offences under the Criminal Code and CDSA. A full list can be found in the attached Addendum of Charged Persons.
Eight of the accused were held in custody upon arrest and the remaining 18 were released on conditions. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound, Walkerton, Goderich and Stratford on various dates in October 2022.
(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person has been charged after losing control and colliding with two parked vehicles.
On September 19, 2022, just after 1:00 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting stationary radar on Line 86 and Road 140 in the Municipality of North Perth. The officer observed the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and driving dangerously. The officer also observed the vehicle lose control in a turn colliding with two stationary vehicles.
No injuries were reported.
Kevin GINGRICH, an 18-year-old resident of Wallenstein, has been charged with:
– Dangerous operation
– Mischief – destroys or damaged property
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
(PERTH EAST, ON) – On September 6, 2022, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft from a residence located on Line 34 in the Township of Perth East.
It was reported that on September 6, 2022, in the evening the homeowner had a gathering with friends and family. At approximately 10:37 p.m., the victim realized that an envelop containing Canadian currency was missing.
A portion of the Canadian currency was later recovered.
As a result, Ricardo CERON, a 45-year-old of No Fixed Address has been arrested and charged with the following:
– Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A person has been charged with arson after Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of someone setting a fire in a laundry room in the Municipality of North Perth.
On August 17, 2022, at approximately 11:41 a.m., Perth County OPP responded to a report of someone setting a fire in a laundry room at a Queen Street East address in North Perth.
Through investigation, a suspect was identified and arrested.
Aaron ROSS, 27, of North Perth has been charged with:

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On September 16, 2022, just before 5:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received reports of mischief to multiple flags at a residence located on Albert Avenue North in the Municipality of North Perth.
Investigation determined that three pride flags, a Black Lives Matter flag, every child matters flag and Abortion is a women’s choice flag were all damaged.

(GREY BRUCE, ON) Two drivers have been charged with impaired related offences on Grey Bruce roads.
On September 18, 2022, at 12:44 a.m., officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on the sunset strip in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. A motorist entered the RIDE program, and officers determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
Gary MAZE, 21 years-of-age from Owen Sound was placed under arrest and is charged with the following offences:
· Operation while impaired
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.
Later that same day at 9:59 p.m., officers responded to a single car motor vehicle collision on 200 Sideroad in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.
Officers arrived on scene and while speaking with the driver of the motor vehicle, detected signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.
Douglas MULLER, 60 years-of-age from Grey Highlands has been charged with the following offences:
· Operation while impaired
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.
(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On September 16, 2022, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County Paramedic Services and Grey Township Fire Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on Perth Line 86. A passenger vehicle had collided with a commercial motor vehicle.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deceased has been identified as Jason GOLL, 48, of Gowanstown.
The investigation is ongoing, and members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.

(RIPLEY, ON) – The South Bruce detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a serious assault that was reported in the village of Ripley.
The victim was originally transported to a London hospital with life-threatening injuries but was pronounced deceased late last week. The victim is being identified as 57-year-old Kevin RICHMAN of Huron-Kinloss Township.
Daniel PATON, 26-years-old of Huron-Kinloss Township has now been charged with Manslaughter. The accused currently remains in custody.
The South Bruce OPP and the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit are continuing to investigate under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
(MILDMAY, ON) – On September 8, 2022, at 7:51 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspicious vehicle along Vincent Street in Mildmay. Officers responded and found a quantity of illegal drugs in the vehicle.
The occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident.
Upon further investigation, officers recovered stolen property including cheques, visa cards and debit cards.
Shane DECUNHA, 30-years-old, of Hanover was charged with:
2 counts of possessing a controlled substance
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Josh DECUNHA, 29-years-old, of Hanover was charged with:
2 counts of possessing a controlled substance
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Both accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.
(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – On September 12, 2022, at 7:58 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft at an address along Main Street in the village of Tiverton. Officers discovered an assortment of tools had been stolen.
Uniform members, including members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service (SSPS), took an individual into custody without incident.
David ZIMMERMAN, 26-years-old of South Bruce Peninsula was charged with:
Possessing property obtained by crime (six counts)
Theft under $5,000 (three counts)
Break and enter
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Fail to comply with release order
Breach of recognizance
This investigation including members of OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) solved five reported break-ins. Four in the Municipality of Kincardine and one in the Municipality of Saugeen Shores.
Investigators have recovered a significant amount of stolen property, including tools, firearms, ammunition, jewellery, and alcohol.
The accused remains in custody awaiting a show cause hearing.
(NORTH HURON, ON) – A resident of Wingham is facing an Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) charge following a failed roadside test in Wingham this past weekend.
On Sunday, September 11, 2022 at approximately 3:00 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was parked on Alfred Street West in Wingham when the driver of a car pulled up behind the patrol vehicle. The driver exited his car and the officer had an opportunity to speak with the driver. While speaking with the driver the investigating officer suspected the driver had been drinking alcohol.
A roadside screening test was administered, and the driver registered a fail. The accused was immediately placed under arrest for 80 Plus and was taken into custody.
The accused was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further testing. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit.
Paul ROMPH, 53 years of age from Wingham has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 31, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A Lucknow resident is facing an Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus charge following a traffic stop that took place in Dungannon last week.
On Thursday, September 8, 2022 at approximately 8:08 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling in Dungannon when he observed a motor vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Lucknow Line.
A traffic stop was initiated and while speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered and the driver provided a sample that registered a fail. The accused was immediately placed under arrest for 80 Plus and was taken into custody.
The accused was subsequently transported to the Huron Detachment for further testing. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit.
Jonathan GRUMMETT, 49 years of age from Lucknow has been charged with: Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus and Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Alcohol
The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 17, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
