Don’t Send Pics Of Your Naughty Bits #Don’tBeADipshit

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On November 29, 2022, at approximately 6:20 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police investigated an extortion incident after being called to a North Perth address.

It was determined that a male met a female on an application on their cellphone. During a conversation, the male sent the female an explicit photograph. A demand of money was then made by the female in order for the photograph not be distributed to all of the victim’s friends and family.

Police are warning all social media users to be aware. We live in a connected world where it’s easy to feel as if our far-away friends are right next door. Having a face-to-face conversation with someone is gaining in popularity and everyone needs to be vigilant when engaging in any online chats.

Police are urging all social media users to be aware of the dangers of engaging in online web chats where explicit conversations and photographs are shared. Once it’s out there, you can’t get it back.
