$10,000 Damage In Vanastra

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a mischief that has taken place recently in Vanastra.

Investigators have determined that sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020 suspects were observed damaging a large protective tarp that covers a massive salt stock pile located on 3rd Street in Vanastra.

The damages to the tarp and the necessary repairs will result in a loss of approximately $10,000 to the victim.

Methamphetamine Bust In Seaforth – LOGAN

(HURON EAST, ON) – A traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers last week in Seaforth has led to numerous charges against a Seaforth resident.

At approximately 1:16 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020 a Huron OPP officer observed a car travelling westbound on Goderich Street West with no headlights activated. A traffic stop was initiated and upon stopping the vehicle officers determined the driver was currently suspended from driving.

Upon informing the driver that he was going to be arrested he became combative and resisted arrest. Upon gaining control of the accused he was taken into custody and a search was conducted.

A search of the driver and the vehicle resulted in officers locating quantities of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and psilocybin. Further investigation revealed the motor vehicle was not insured.

Frederick LOGAN, 24 years of age from Seaforth has been charged with the following offences:

Resist Peace Officer

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine

Possession of a Schedule III Substance – Psilocybin

Driving While Under Suspension

Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

Drive Motor Vehicle, No Validation

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 20, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Carjacking Update – Two Arrested

(SIMCOE, ON) – On March 24, 2020 around 10:30 p.m. while on general patrol in the City of Simcoe, Norfolk County OPP officers located and arrested two person of interest in regards to the robbery investigation from March 24, 2020 near Ingersoll, Ontario.

At this time police have arrested 29-year-old Michelle ROBERTSON of Woodstock, Ontario with:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 X2

Robbery with a weapon

Flight from peace officer

Use of credit card

The accused was arrested without incident and is being held for a bail hearing on March 25, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice Woodstock.

Police have also arrested 32-year-old Sean ROBERTSON of Tillsonburg, Ontario with:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 X2

Robbery with a weapon

Flight from peace officer

Use of credit card

The accused was arrested after he fled from police on foot. The accused is being held for a bail hearing on March 25, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice Woodstock.

Further charges are pending the completion of this investigation.

Arson Investigation Near Bayfield

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), including members from the Huron OPP Crime Unit continue to investigate an arson that took place north of Bayfield this past weekend.

Shortly before 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2020 Central Huron Fire Department and Huron County OPP officers responded to a commercial property located at the intersection of Bluewater Veteran’s Highway and Bayfield Road after receiving calls about a fully engulfed fire at the property.

Investigators determined three brand new mobile homes, each valued at approximately $100,000 were intentionally set on fire. All three unoccupied homes were completely destroyed by fire.

Investigators are seeking tips from the public to help identify the suspects involved.

Drunk Driver Arrested In Seaforth

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Seaforth resident with Impaired Operation and 80 Plus following a traffic stop that occurred early this morning in Seaforth.

Early this morning at approximately 2:25 a.m. a Huron OPP officer observed a pickup truck travelling erratically northbound Main Street. After watching the driver nearly strike a curb at Side Street a traffic stop was initiated. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been consuming alcohol and was now displaying signs of impairment.

As a result the driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Exeter OPP detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were determined to be above the legal limit.

Adam JONES, 27 years of age from Seaforth has been charged with Operation While Impaired & Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 1, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

14 Year Old Shot – Teenager Arrested & Charged

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 15-year-old young person following a weapons investigation.

Police were contacted shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 21, 2020 when an incident involving a group of young people playing with firearms in a field resulted in one young person being shot. One 14-year-old was injured during the incident, and attended the hospital with minor injuries.

A 15-year-old young person from the Municipality of North Perth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), has been arrested and charged with

– Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition contrary to Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, at a later date, to answer to the charges.

Drunk Driver Arrested As He Arrives At Residence In North Perth

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On March 20, 2020, at approximately10:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop of a white car as it arrived at a residence in the Municipality of North Perth.

During the course of the investigation, officers formed the opinion that the driver had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

John Charles Bradley MATHERS, 42-years-old, of North Perth, has been charged with:

Impaired Operation – 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code, and offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford to answer to the charge.

BOLO Stolen Utility Trailer Plate #R4540C

(BRANT TWP, ON) – On March 22, 2020 at 12:04 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a residence in the 1400 block of Bruce County Road 3 in Brant Township. Sometime between 10:00 a.m. on March 22, 2020 and 12:00 p.m. on March 22, 2020, an 18 foot covered trailer with licence #R4540C was taken. The stolen trailer is Grey and Black with a back door ramp, side door and a V” front making it 23 feet long overall. The serial number is on file with police.

Ditch Drunk Driver Arrested – Name Released

(BRANT TWP, ON) – On March 23, 2020 at 4:26 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle in the ditch along Bruce County Road 10 in Brant Township. Officers located the vehicle and determined that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Jody MACISAAC, 53-years-old, of London was charged with Impaired Operation and Operate over 80 milligrams. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 10, 2020 to answer to the charges.

Crack Cocaine Bust – Name Released

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On March 23, 2020 at approximately 10:55 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a suspicious persons call on the Main Street of Mount Forest.

Officers located two individuals that matched the descriptions provided by the witness. A query was conducted of the parties which confirmed that one of the individuals was wanted on an outstanding warrant by another policing jurisdiction and they were placed under arrest.

A quantity of crack cocaine and methamphetamine were seized from the accused during a search incident to arrest.

Michael Antony HONTAR, 27-years-old of Wellington North Township has been charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine and Possession of Methamphetamine. The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on May 19, 2020 to answer to the charges on those charges.

62 Year Old Charged For Having Weed & Edibles

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On March 23, 2020 at approximately 7:45 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a motor vehicle on Silver Creek Parkway near Dawson Road for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

While speaking with the driver, the officer detected a strong odour of fresh marihuana inside the vehicle. As a result, a quantity of dried bud marihuana and edibles were seized.

John Timonthy JOHNSON, 62-years-old of Guelph has been charged with Possession of Dried Marihuana Over 30 grams in a Public Place. The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on May 19, 2020 to answer to the charge.

24 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving In Exeter

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A timely call from a witness last weekend in Exeter helped Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers take another impaired driver off the streets.

On Friday, March 20, 2020 at approximately 4:15 p.m. Huron OPP officers responded to Main Street South in Exeter to investigate a possible impaired driver that was in a parked vehicle near a commercial business.

Officers arrived on scene and located the male suspect attempting to start his vehicle. Upon speaking with the male officers noted the suspect had been consuming some alcohol and was displaying several signs that he was impaired. As a result he was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests.

Upon arrival at the detachment the driver provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his tests were determined to be above the legal limit.

James MCVEENEY, 24 years of age from South Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) and Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle With Open Container of Liquor. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 18, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter.

His vehicle was impounded and his licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.

Loaded Gun & Methamphetamine Seized – Two Arrested

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On March 22, 2020 at approximately 8:20 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at a residence on Perry Street in Fergus. Police also received information that a weapon was being brandished at the residence.

A police investigation at the residence resulted in the arrest of two individuals. One person was arrested inside the residence and the second, in the backyard after attempting to escape through a basement window.

A subsequent search of the residence resulted in police locating a loaded handgun and a quantity of methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, Bronsen James PRONK, 25-years-old of Fergus and Marko SHKILNY- 25-years-old of Toronto have been charged with:

Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

Careless Storage of a Firearm

Possession of a Weapon For a Dangerous Purpose

Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

Possession of Methamphetamine

SHKILNY has also been charged with Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

Both accuseds were held for a bail hearing.

Drunk Driving Charge For 42 Year Old From Central Huron

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with Impaired Operation following a traffic stop that occurred last weekend near Holmesville.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on March 20, 2020 a Huron OPP officer stopped a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that was travelling in a field near Tipperary Line. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. As such an approved screening device was utilized and the driver produced a roadside sample of breath that resulted in a fail.

The driver was promptly placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were determined to be above the legal limit.

Heather PICKETT, 42 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). She has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 1, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

33 Year Old Facing Impaired Charge – WILSON

(HURON EAST, ON) – A 33-year-old from London is facing an Impaired Operation charge following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On Thursday, March 12, 2020 shortly before 2:00 a.m. a Huron OPP officer observed a crossover utility vehicle heading northbound on Main Street South in Seaforth with an expired validation sticker. A traffic stop was conducted and while speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver was displaying some signs that he was under the influence of a drug. A Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) test was conducted and the driver performed poorly. As a result the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Walkerton OPP Detachment for further examination. A test conducted by a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE) was conducted and it was determined the driver was impaired by a drug.

Further investigation also revealed the vehicle was not insured.

Michael WILSON, 33 years of age, from London has been charged with Operation While Impaired, Operate a Motor Vehicle on a Highway – No Insurance and Drive Motor Vehicle – No Validation on Plate. He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 20, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
