Repeat Offender Arrested Again – Steven GRAYSTON

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a Huron County man yesterday afternoon with a variety of weapons and breach of probation offences.

At approximately 5:46 p.m. on May 20, 2020 Huron OPP officers responded to a suspicious person call located on Burns Line. Officers arrived on scene and quickly located the suspect sitting on a landscape rock at the end of a laneway. Officers also learned the male had been observed burying something near the rock. A check of the area was completed and an air pistol BB gun and a starter pistol were located.

Upon doing some checks on the male it was learned the suspect was in violation of his probation order as well as a prohibition order. Additionally, upon arrest the male was searched and he was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon commonly known as a flick knife”.

MILLER Caught Going 150 in an 80

(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On May 21, 2020 at 3:51 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a northbound (brown) pick-up truck, on Highway 10, near Road 170 in Grey County. The pick-up truck was travelling over 150 kilometres per hour (km/h) in the posted 80 km/h speed limit.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged the driver, Robert MILLER, a 30 year old from Grey Highlands, with stunt driving – 50km/h or more over the posted speed limit, section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The driver was issued a 7 day drivers licence suspension and the vehicle that was being operated was towed and will be impounded for 7 days.

Corey OLIVER – Assault, Uttering Death Threats

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On May 20th, 2020 at 8:45 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a campground at Highway 6 near Tobermory, in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

OPP officers attended and located a person who had sustained an injury to their face. The victim was treated at hospital for minor injuries.

During the investigation, officers arrested a suspect who had assaulted the victim with physical force.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Corey OLIVER, a 32 year old from Northern Bruce Peninsula, with assault, section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC) and uttering death threats, section 264(1) CC.

The accused was held for a bail hearing in Ontario Court of Justice on May 21, 2020.

Break And Enter At Seasonal Property

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – On May 15, 2020, officers from the Grey Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break and enter to a seasonal property at Concession 3, in the Township of Chatsworth.

The investigation revealed that the residence was broken into and several items were stolen, including:

A red 2007 Honda ATV

A black 2009 Cargo Express enclosed trailer

Multiple generators

Chain saws

Power tools

Solar Power control panels

The thefts took place sometime between March 15, 2020 and May 15, 2020.

Drunk Driver Caught Going 130 in an 80

(BRUCE TWP, ON) – On May 20, 2020 at 4:26 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along Highway 21 in Bruce Township saw a motorcycle moving at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle’s speed was displayed on radar at more than 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

While speaking with the driver, the officer determined that they had been drinking alcohol.

Keegan HAYES, 29-years-old, of Kincardine was charged with Impaired Driving, Operate over 80 Milligrams and Race a Motor Vehicle. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 29, 2020 to answer to the charges.

Kincardine Collision Results In Drunk Driving Charge – WICK

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On May 20, 2020 at 8:36 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a 2 vehicle collision on Broadway Street in Kincardine. Officers arrived to find that one of the involved drivers had been drinking alcohol.

Christopher WICK, 27-years-old, of Kincardine was charged with Impaired Driving – Over 80 Milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 22, 2020 to answer to the charge.

Sexual Assault In Seaforth – Cameron DOIG Facing Charges

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit has resulted in sexual assault and other sex-related offences being laid against a Huron East resident.

The charges arise from events that took place in Seaforth during the 1990’s when the victim was a teenager. The accused was a supervisor and golf instructor to the victim during this time period.

Huron County OPP has charged 61-year-old Cameron DOIG from Huron East with the following offences:

Sexual Assault – Two Counts

Sexual Interference – Two Counts

Invitation to Sexual Touching – Two Counts

Sexual Exploitation

Voyeurism

The accused was arrested on May 19, 2020. He has since been released from custody with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Four Facing Trespass Charges – Methamphetamine A Factor

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged four people with trespassing following an incident in North Perth on May 17 2020.

Police were called shortly after 5:30 p.m. by citizens who had observed suspicious activity involving a white pick-up truck and a small all-terrain vehicle (ATV) pulling a trailer on Line 90, in the Municipality of North Perth. The suspicious vehicle was last observed attending a private property on Perth Road 164.

When police arrived, the white truck was not located, but a different blue pick-up truck attempted to flee the scene. Officers were able to get the vehicle stopped, and all four occupants were arrested for trespassing.

As a result, Bradley MARTIN, 38, of North Perth, was charged with:

Resist Peace Officer

Possession of Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Possession Break in Instruments

Failure to Comply with Release Order (two counts)

Alexandra GROSS, 29, of North Perth was charged with:

Enter Premises when Entry Prohibited

Joseph POTTER, 31, of North Perth was charged with:

Enter Premises when Entry Prohibited

A 16 year old resident of North Perth was also charged with:

Person Under 19 years – Possess Cannabis

Hwy 21 Collision – Tractor Vs SUV

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On May 20, 2020 at 8:18 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving a (red) farm tractor towing a farm implement and a (grey) Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) at Highway 21 east of Jackson, Georgian Bluffs.

Officers arrived to find the SUV with extensive damage in the middle of the highway. Four involved persons from the collision were transported by ambulance to hospital and treated for minor injuries. During the investigation it was learned that both vehicles were westbound on the highway and the 42 year old driver of the SUV rear ended the farm tractor, operated by a 52 year old.

Grey Bruce OPP continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. No charges have been laid at this time.

David ERNEST – Theft X2

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest in two thefts of alcohol from a local business.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on May 17 2020, police were called by a local business to the area of Mitchell Road South, in Listowel, after a suspect stole a bottle of alcohol and left on foot. Police located the male on Main Street West, where he was arrested for the theft. Police had already been investigating this same suspect, since video surveillance showed the suspect stealing another bottle of alcohol from the same business on May 12 2020.

As a result, David ERNEST, 28, of North Perth, has been charged with:

Theft Under $5000 (two counts)

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Jason BULMER Wanted On Canada Wide Warrant Arrested In Perth East

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Shortly before 11:00 a.m. on May 16 2020, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the area of Line 37 and Perth Road 111 for a report of a suspicious person.

When police arrived on scene, the suspect gave a false name. Through the investigation, officers were able to determine the identity of the person, and found that there was a Canada wide warrant for their arrest.

As a result, Jason BULMER, 35, of no fixed address, has been charged with:

Obstruct Peace Officer, contrary to the Criminal Code

Fail to leave premises when directed, Contrary to the Trespass to Property Act

Gas Station Robbery And Break And Enter – Peter Junior MEARS Arrested

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On May 16, 2020 at 5:45 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a robbery at a gas station in Ferndale, at Highway 6 in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

A person attended the business when it was opening for the day and assaulted an employee and attempted to gain entry to the business. The suspect was gone from the scene when officers arrived.

A short time later, OPP officers received a call for a break and enter in progress at a residence at Highway 6 near Miller Lake. A person, matching the suspect’s description from the robbery, was arrested by officers at the scene of the break and enter.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Peter Junior MEARS, a 29 year old from Northern Bruce Peninsula with the following offences,

Robbery with violence, section 343(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, section 348(1)(a) CC

Operation of motor vehicle while impaired – alcohol and drugs, section 320.14(1)(a) CC

The accused was held for a bail hearing in Ontario Court of Justice on May 17, 2020.

Mischief In Listowel – David ERNEST Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A North Perth resident is facing a mischief charge after an incident on Queen Street in Listowel.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on May 15 2020, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to assist after an altercation in a parking lot at an apartment building on Queen Street in Listowel. One person was inside a vehicle, and another had struck the vehicle with a piece of wood, causing damage to the windshield, side window, and headlight.

As a result, David ERNEST, 28, of North Perth, has been arrested and charged with:

Mischief – Destroys or Damages Property

David KUNZLE Arrested Again – Methamphetamine, Breach, Drive While Prohibited

(WEST PERTH, ON) – A South Huron resident is facing numerous charges after being caught driving while prohibited in West Perth.

Around 6:00 p.m. on May 9 2020, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information that a prohibited driver was operating a motorcycle on Line 21, in the Municipality of West Perth. Police were able to locate the driver shortly after, and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect was arrested a short distance away, and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

As a result, David KUNZLE, 21, of South Huron, has been charged with:

Operation while Prohibited by the Criminal Code (six counts)

Fail to Comply with Probation Order (three counts)

Possession of Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Prohibited Driver Caught Again – Jordan David HUNT

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On May 14, 2020, at approximately 8:45 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member investigated the driver of a pick-up truck on Wellington Road 17 west of Highway 6 in Mapleton Township. The driver was found to be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle due to previous convictions and was placed under arrest.

Jordan David HUNT, 28-years-old of Wellington North Township has been charged with Operation While Prohibited X3 contrary to the Criminal Code and Drive While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 28, 2020.

Their vehicle was seized for a period of 45 days as per statute.
