Sexual Assault X5, Overcome Resistance By Drug X11, Sexual Assault With a Weapon

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid numerous criminal charges against a Goderich resident as a result of a sexual assault investigation that commenced this past weekend.

On Saturday, May 23, 2020 at approximately 12:44 a.m. Huron OPP members responded to a Gibbons Street residence to assist a victim that had dialed 9-1-1.

Ultimately the accused was arrested and taken into custody. A comprehensive investigation has resulted in numerous charges being laid against the accused.

A 30-year-old Goderich resident has been charged with the following offences:

Sexual Assault – Five counts

Sexual Assault with a Weapon

Forcible Confinement

Overcome Resistance by Administering a Drug – 11 counts

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich at a later date to answer to the charges.

Teen Sexually Assaulted In Listowel – 30 Year Old Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid a charge in relation to an incident that occurred in the Municipality of North Perth on May 14 2020.

Police were called to an address on Barber Avenue North, Listowel, shortly before 8:00 a.m. by the 16 year old victim, who reported that a sexual assault had occurred. Police conducted an investigation, and one person is now facing charges.

As a result, a 30 year old resident of North Perth has been arrested and charged with:

Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm

Sexual Assault

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Repeat Offender Arrested After Struggle

(HURON TWP, ON) – On May 25, 2020 at 8:22 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break-in at a residence in the 900 block of Concession 12 in Huron Township. Officers arrived and located the suspect who was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Dale CONANT, 41-years-old, of Kincardine was charged with Break and Enter, Possess a Controlled Substance, Possess Break-In Instruments, 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance and Fail to Comply with Probation. The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for May 26, 2020.

Driver Charged Following Fatal Collision

(TOWNSHIP OF ERIN, ON) – On January 5, 2020, at approximately 6:25 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and the Town of Erin Fire Services responded to a serious two-motor vehicle collision on Trafalgar Road near Side Road 17 in the Town of Erin.

Investigation revealed that a southbound sport utility vehicle (SUV) collided head-on with a northbound sedan. The driver of the sedan, Jayson Alexander WADDELL, 36-years-old of Caledon was pronounced deceased at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, Ishaka Simran Parvini MAHARAJ, 19-years-old of Barrie has been charged with Dangerous Operation Causing Death contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 31, 2020 to answer to the charge.

Methamphetamine Bust In Goderich – Perry BAKKER

(GODERICH, ON) – A Goderich resident will be making a trip to court this summer after he was caught this past weekend in possession of some illegal drugs.

On Friday, May 22, 2020 at approximately 7:47 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling on Victoria Street in Goderich when he observed a known wanted male out walking. The officer stopped the male and informed him that he was wanted for an outstanding breach of probation offence. An arrest was conducted and a search incident to arrest revealed the accused to be in possession of some illegal drugs.

Perry BAKKER, 34 years of age, from Goderich has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Fentanyl and Hydromorphone, Fail to Comply with a Release Order and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order.

He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 17, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drunk Driver Rolls Vehicle – Jakob WEBB

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus following a motor vehicle crash investigation that took place this weekend.

On Sunday, May 24, 2020 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Huron OPP officers responded to the intersection of Sharpe’s Creek Line & Maitland Line to investigate a single motor vehicle rollover crash. Upon connecting with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been drinking some alcohol so a roadside screening test was conducted. The driver complied with the demand and his test resulted in a fail.

He was placed under arrest and was subsequently transported to the Sebringville OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were measured to be above the legal limit.

Jakob WEBB, 23 years of age, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for July 6, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. His vehicle has been impounded and his licence has been suspended for 90 days.

Assault In Listowel – Repeat Offender Arrested – Shane DUPUIS

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person is facing a number of charges after a dispute at a Listowel residence.

Shortly after midnight on May 21 2020, The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to an apartment on Elizabeth Street East, in the Municipality of North Perth. During the investigation, it was learned that an assault had occurred between two visitors to the apartment, and the suspect was also breaching conditions. The suspect had fled the apartment, but was located and arrested a short time later.

As a result, Shane DUPUIS, 30, of North Perth, was arrested and charged with:

Assault

Fail to Comply with Release Order (three counts)

The accused was held for a bail hearing on May 21 2020.

Drunk Driver Picking Up Suspended Driver Arrested – Nyakim BICHIOK

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – On May 23, 2020 at 10:40 p.m. officers from Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle travelling on Dundas St. in the Municipality of Thames Centre, with no rear lights illuminated. During the traffic stop police learned that the driver’s licence was currently suspended. The driver was issued a Summons to appear in court for July 7, 2020 to speak to the charges and arrangements were made by the driver for a ride home.

When the arranged driver arrived on scene to pick up the male, police soon learned that the driver’s ability to operate the vehicle may have been impaired. A roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail. The driver was arrested at the scene and transported to the London OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of an investigation police have charged Nyakim BICHIOK, -age 32- of London, ON with:

CC 320.14(1)(b) Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

HTA 44.1(3) Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The vehicle was impounded accused was released from police custody and scheduled to appear in a London court room on June 22, 2020 to speak to the charges.

Listowel Rock Attack – Leslie KURUCZ Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid a charge in regards to an assault that occurred in the Municipality of North Perth last week.

Police were contacted around 4:00 p.m. on May 20 2020, after an altercation in the parking lot of a business on Mitchell Road South in Listowel. During the altercation, the 52 year old victim was struck with a rock, suffering non-life threatening injuries. It was determined that the victim and the suspect were not known to each other.

As a result, Leslie KURUCZ, 47, of no fixed address, has been arrested and charged with:

Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Officer Assaulted During Arrest

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – On May 24, 2020 at 3:26 a.m. the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was requested to assist a member of the Strathroy Caradoc Police Service (SCPS) at a traffic stop on Longwoods Rd. in the Municipality of Strathroy Caradoc.

OPP learned that while at a traffic stop with a pickup truck a SCPS officer was confronted by unrelated male on a motorcycle. The male became confrontational with the SCPS officer, at which point the OPP were requested to assist. The male soon fled the scene eastbound on HWY 402 and was later located and stopped by a member of the OPP.

During the traffic stop police soon learned that the driver’s ability to operate the motorcycle may have been impaired. During the course of a standard field sobriety test the driver became very aggressive and assaulted the officer by striking him in the face. During the assault the officer was required to deploy his conducted energy weapon (CEW) to safely control the accused and effect an arrest.

The officer received minor injuries as a result of the assault. The accused was not injured.

As a result of an investigation police have charged Ronald CLAUSE – age 51- of Mississauga’s of the New Credit First Nation with:

CC 270(1)(a) Assault a Peace Officer

CC 320.15(1) Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was remanded into custody as a result of his parole being revoked and is scheduled to appear in a London Court room on August 4, 2020 to speak to the charges.

This incident is another reminder of the dangers that our officers face each and every day and that no traffic stop should ever be viewed as routine. Our members are provided the necessary equipment and training to ensure that each situation can be handled in the safest and most effective way possible. This is also another great reminder why motorists need to slow down and move over when they see that police have someone stopped at the roadside. Officers and civilians need room to ensure a safe space to work in.

Homeowner Shot At While Following Criminals That Stole His Property – DOCKSTATER, MINGO & DOCKSTATER Arrested

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – On May 18, 2020 at 6:05 p.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a robbery located on Three Fires Rd. of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation.

Police soon learned that suspects attended a property on the 700 block of Switzer Dr. and proceeded to steal property. The suspect vehicle was blocked on the property by the home owner when his pickup truck was struck by the fleeing suspect vehicle. The home owner continued to follow the suspects from the scene where it was reported the suspects stopped their vehicle on the roadway and fired two gun shots at the home owner.

As a result of an investigation police have charged Jordan DOCKSTATER age -27- of St. Thomas, ON with:

CC 343(d) Armed Robbery

CC 320.13(1) Dangerous operation

CC 95(a) Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

CC 85(1)(a) Firearm – Use while committing offence

CC 94 Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

CC 86(1) Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or Ammunition

CC 88 Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

CC 430(4) Mischief Under $ 5,000

Police have also charged Corey MINGO, age -29- of London, ON with:

CC 343(d) Armed Robbery

CC 117.01(1) Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

CC 95(a) Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

CC 85(1)(a) Firearm – Use while committing offence

CC 94 Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

CC 86(1) Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or Ammunition

CC 88 Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Police have also charged Dawson DOCKSTATER, age -21- of London, ON with:

CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada

All accused parties are scheduled to appear in a London court room on future dates to speak to the charges.

While the investigation is on-going this time, the OPP is looking for anyone with information related to this incident. Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing localized flash flooding.

Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon or early this evening.

The main threats are heavy downpours and there may be a few storms that produce hail up to 3 centimetres in diameter.

Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

Woman Airlifted After Clothing Caught Fire

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On May 23, 2020, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Centre Wellington Fire Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service responded to a report of an injured woman at a residence in Fergus.

It was reported that a 53-year-old female was with a small group of people that were gathered around a backyard fire pit. It was also reported that the woman’s clothing caught fire. Witnesses extinguished the fire and provided first aid.

The woman later was transported by air ambulance to a trauma centre.

Police continue to investigate.

19 Year Old Arrested For Threats And Firearms – KLEIN

NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On May 21, 2020 at 10:18 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapons occurrence at on Corey Crescent in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Following an argument involving several parties, one person displayed a firearm in a threatening nature.

As a result of the investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Benjamin KLEIN, a 19 year old from Northern Bruce Peninsula, with the following offences:

Three counts of Handle firearm in a careless manner, section 86 of the Criminal Code (CC);

Three counts of Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, section 88 of the Criminal Code (CC);

Three counts of Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm, section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);

Three counts of Assault with a weapon, section 267(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);

Three counts of Pointing a firearm, section 87 of the Criminal Code (CC);

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 22, 2020.

K9 Locates Criminal In Cornfield – Francis REINHART

(CULROSS TWP, ON) – On May 21, 2020 at 10:14 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter at a property along Bruce Road 6 in Culross Township. Officers arrived to find that someone wearing a backpack had run off into a cornfield on the neighbouring property.

Members of the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and an OPP Canine Unit were called to assist South Bruce OPP officers with a search of the cornfield. Officers located the person of interest who was arrested without incident.

Francis REINHART, 28-years-old, from the Municipality of Brockton was charged with 2 counts of Break and Enter, Unlawfully in a Dwelling House, Assault, 3 counts of Mischief, Theft and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order. The accused was held in custody pending the result of a bail hearing scheduled for May 22, 2020.
