Mount Forest Abuse #WaitInTheTruck

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County OPP has charged a  Mount Forest resident with Assault in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation.

On October 5, 2024, at approximately 2:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address in Mount Forest.

As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old of Mount Forest, has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following:

  • Assault – Spousal

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph, at a later date.

Fatal Collision Near Aurthur

(WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On September 16, 2024, at approximately 6:15 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a three vehicle collision involving a transport truck on Wellington Road 109, west of Aurthur. It was reported that a white sedan had collided with a transport truck and that the single occupant was seriously injured.

OPP, Wellington North Fire Service, and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service attend the scene. The driver, a 38-year-old from Kincardine, was transported to a local trauma centre where he was later pronounced deceased.

Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation. The office of the Chief Coroner was notified and attended the scene. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and anyone with information related to it is asked to call 1-888-310-1122.

Shaunnice WHITE Was Arrested

(WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On September 3, 2024, at approximately 3:15 p.m., members of Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop the driver of a silver sedan on Peel Street, Mount Forest. The vehicle fled the area and was later involved in a fail to remain collision.  As a result of the investigation, and with assistance from the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit, Shaunnice WHITE, 27-years-old of Harriston, was charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Flight from Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Failure to Stop after Accident contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Operate Unsafe Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

Matthew EPOCH – Drunk Driving

(WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On August 22, 2024, at approximately 7:45 p.m. Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on Sideroad 7 West, Mount Forest. As a result of the investigation, Matthew EPOCH, 25-years-old of Kenilworth, was charged with:

– Operation While Impaired – Blood Concentration 80 plus

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

Connor Scratcher – Drug Trafficking

(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges following a drug trafficking investigation and the execution of a search warrant at a residence by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On August 20, 2024, at 2:19 p.m., members of the Wellington County CSCU and the West Region Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on 13th Line East Garafraxa.

During the search officers discovered and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, and psilocybin along with drug paraphernalia. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances is approximately $5000.00.

28-year-old Connor Scratcher of East Garafraxa is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Trafficking schedule I substance – cocaine

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.

29-year-old Samantha Kennedy of East Garafraxa is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

Samantha Kennedy was released and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on September 24, 2024.

4 Arrested For Theft – Names Released

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On April 6, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft from a business in Palmerston. It was reported that three suspects had stolen approximately $1000 in product from the retailer.

On April 12, 2024, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft from a business in Arthur. It was reported that four suspects were attempting to steel approximately $2500 in product from the retailer. Officers responded and stopped the theft. Two of the suspects were recognized as being involved with the April 6, 2024, theft.

As a result of the investigation, Akashdeep SINGH, 19-years-old of Brampton, has been charged with Theft Under $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code. They are scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on May 10, 2024.  

Simranjit SINGH, 23-years-old of Brampton, has been charged with Theft Under $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code. They are scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on June 28, 2024.  

Jaspreet SINGH, 22-years-old from Brampton, have been charged with two counts of Theft Under $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code. They are scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on May 10, 2024.  

Ramandeep Singh SIDHI, 22-years-old of Brampton was charged with Resist Peace Officer and two counts of Theft Under $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code. Further, SIDHI was also charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Heroin contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. They were held for bail.

$100,000 Meth Bust

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On June 19, 2024, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling Main Street North, Mount Forest. At approximately 11:15 p.m., the occupant of a silver sedan was observed trafficking a controlled substance.

As a result of an investigation, Peter A FORSCHNER, 58-year-old of Mount Forest, was charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on July 23, 20024.

Investigators seized nearly an estimated $1000,000 in contraband, drug trafficking equipment and currency.

3 Arrested For Theft – Names Released

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On June 11, 2024, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft report from a business in Mount Forest. It was reported that at approximately 1:45 p.m., three people entered the store and stole over $2000 in product when they refused to pay for the items, walking past check out personal. They fled the scene in a white mini van.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., OPP received a second theft report from a retailer in Arthur. In nearly an identical situation, the three were reported to have  stolen nearly $800 worth of product.

Shortly thereafter, members of the Wellington County OPP were able to locate and stop the three suspects. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the three had also victimized retailers in Shelburne and Orangeville earlier that day.

As a result of the investigation, Lucian VASILE, 34-years-old of Hamilton, Ionut ENE, 34-years-old of Hamilton and Laurentiu PARAIPAN, 32-years-old of Hamilton, have all been charged with four counts of Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, contrary to the criminal code. Further, VASILE and LAURENTIU face the additional charge of Failing to Comply with an Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code. All three were held for bail.

Osabuohien Francis IYANGBE Arrested For Sexual Assault

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – In April 2024, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police Major Crime Unit (OPP) began an investigation into a reported sexual offence at an address in Wellington North. 

As a result of the investigation, Osabuohien Francis IYANGBE, 50-years-old of Uxbridge, has been charged with Sexual Assault contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on July 2, 2024.

Fatal Dirt-bike Collison In Arthur

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal dirt-bike collision in Arthur.

On May 2, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a parking area along Eliza St, south of Tucker Street, in Arthur. It was reported that the operator of a dirt-bike was ejected and had sustained serious injuries.

OPP, Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and Wellington North Fire Service responded. The operator, a 23-year-old from Arthur, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but pronounced deceased shortly after.

Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation. The office of the Chief Coroner was notified. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and anyone with information related to it is asked to call 1-888-310-1122.

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on May 3, 2024.

On March 20, 2024, the C.S.C.U of the Wellington County OPP concluded a drug trafficking investigation and executed a search warrant in Arthur, Kitchener and North Dumfries. A 28-year-old from Wellington North and 31-year-old from Kitchener were charged. A firearm and drugs were seized.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On February 20, 2024, the Community Street Crime Unit (C.S.C.U) of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) concluded a drug trafficking investigation and executed a search warrant at a residence on George Street, Arthur. Investigators also executed a search warrant at an address on Pioneer Drive, Kitchener and at John Carpenter Way, North Dumfries.

As a result, a firearm was seized, and two individuals are facing drug trafficking charges.

Justin James Frederick WILLIAMS-GALLEY, 28-years-old of Wellington North, was charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance (Cocaine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Cory Robert WINDLINGER, 31-years-old of Kitchener, was charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance (Cocaine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule I substance (Methamphetamine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule I substance (Opioid, other than Heroin) for the Purpose of Trafficking, and  

two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Other) for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Further, the accused was also charged with Unauthorized Possession of a prohibited or Restricted Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code.

Both were held for bail.
