Thefts From Unlocked And Open Garages

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigation the entry into four unlocked or open garages in Listowel.

Between Friday June 20 and June 26, residential garages on Parkview Cr., Riverview Dr., Inkerman St. E., and Boyne Ave S., were entered. Items removed from these garages were; bicycles, golf clubs, and other expensive sport equipment. Some garages had their overhead doors left open while others had unlocked man-doors.

Residents are urged to lock their vehicles, homes, outbuildings and garages. If you hear unusual noises or the dog barks, take it seriously. Look outside and if anything out of the ordinary is spotted call the police immediately. If strangers are checking out your neighbourhood during the day or at night, try to obtain a description, get a licence plate and report this to the police right away.

Break-in to Vacant School Building

(ST.MARYS, ON) On Wednesday June 25, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to the former Arthur Meighen Public School at 151 Water St. in St.Marys, where a break-in had occurred.

Investigation revealed that sometime between Monday June 23 and Wednesday June 25, an unknown culprit(s) gained entry into the building. The building was rummaged through and the old music room was ransacked. A number of items stored in the building were damaged and graffiti was spray painted on a wall.

The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone with information about this incident to contact them at 1-888-310-1122. If you have information but wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000. If suspicious activity around the former school building is observed, please contact the OPP immediately.

Charge Laid At 2 Vehicle Crash

(WALKERTON, ON) – On June 25, 2014 at 9:06 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a 2 vehicle crash on Yonge Street South in Walkerton. Officers arrived to find that a Red Toyota was stopped on Yonge Street South, waiting to turn, when it was struck by a Silver Hyundai. The driver of the Hyundai, an 18 year old Brockton teen, was charged with Careless driving. There were no injuries reported.

Fire – Unconscious Occupant Removed By Police

On June 29, 2014, shortly after 02:00 am the Owen Sound Police Service located a residential apartment duplex in the 400 block of 8th Street East Owen Sound, Ontario with an active fire alarm.

Further inspection revealed that the unit was filled with heavy smoke. Officers on the scene could observe a female occupant passed out on the kitchen floor in the vicinity of the fire hazard. Entry was forced and the female occupant was removed from the residence. A fire hazard on the kitchen stove was the source of the fire and was removed to prevent further fire damage to the building. The Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services attended the scene to assist in ventilating the residence. The residence suffered smoke damage only. The female occupant declined medical attention. The incident was the result of inattention and the over consumption of alcohol by the female occupant.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION

(Marmora, ON) – On June 26, 2014 at 7:50 p.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P responded to the area of Forsyth Street and Linn Street in the Municipality of Marmora and Lake in relation to an intoxicated person wandering into traffic.

As a result officers arrested and charged 41 year old Mark JUST of Cobourg, ON with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act. He was held in custody until sober.

UNLICENSED DRIVER

(Centre Hastings, ON) – On June 26, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P stopped a vehicle on Boundary Road in the Municipality of Centre Hastings. The driver, 28 year old Megan ROUSE of Flinton, ON was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence, Plates Not Authorized and Fail to Surrender Insurance Card.

On Wednesday June 26, 2014 a 16 year old male Cambridge youth was forcibly confined and assaulted at a Woodside Avenue, Cambridge apartment. The offenders left the residence briefly and the victim, fearing for his life, managed to get free and jumped from a third story window to the ground. The victim fortunately suffered only minor injuries. A young person has been arrested and an additional suspect has yet to be located. This was a targeted act. The fire had been extinguished by a resident of a building. Damage to personal property was minimal. This fire had been intentionally set. On June 26th, 2014, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a Kitchener home. Three adult males, all Kitchener residents, were arrested in connection with the investigation. A male who resides at the residence was remanded in police custody, while the remaining two arrested males were released unconditionally. The male is scheduled to attend a show cause hearing on June 27, 2014 to answer to numerous drug-related charges. A quantity of crystal methamphetamine, marihuana, and pills was seized by police during the investigation.

MISSING PERSON

Waterloo Regional Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 17 year old Cambridge male who was last seen on the morning of Tuesday June 17th at his Cambridge residence. Reme PAVAO 17 years old is described as White, 5’5”, 125lbs, thin build, brown short hair, brown eyes. Police would like to speak to him and check on his wellbeing. Driver impaired by drugs, crashes, arrested

On June 26, 2014 at 11:09 a.m., the Guelph Police went to Elginfield Drive for a collision. It is alleged that a pick-up truck struck a City waste removal vehicle. The female driver of the pick-up was spoken to and grounds were formed that she was impaired by drugs and she was arrested.

Sarah Ralston, 32 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving by drug. She will appear in court on August 22, 2014.
