Police Looking For Stolen Corvette – Plate Number BFLM 809

(GREENOCK TWP, ON) – On June 29, 2014 at 8:22 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a stolen vehicle report from a residence along Side road 5 in Greenock Township. Sometime between 10:30 pm on June 27, 2014 and 7:30 pm on June 29, 2014, a Black 1984 Chevrolet Corvette with convertible hard top was taken. The licence plate number is BFLM 809 and the vehicle identification number is on file with police. The value of the stolen car is estimated to be more than $10,000.

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. THEFT MOTOR VEHICLE

On Thursday, June 27th, 2014 at 11:38pm police conducted a traffic stop on Hespeler Road, in Cambridge, after observing a motor vehicle being driven in an unusual manner. Checks revealed this motor vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that day. The two occupants of the motor vehicle were subsequently arrested. A search of the motor vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected narcotics and a quantity of property which has since been linked to several thefts from motor vehicles in Kitchener the previous night. Two young persons have been charges with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Obstruct Police, Failing to Comply with Court Order, and several charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor Licence Act. Both youths were held for a show cause hearing.

MVC FATALITY

At 3:00am on the 29th of June 2014, a BMW SUV collided head on with a United Cab taxi near 36 Manitou Drive, Kitchener. The occupants had to be extricated by the firefighters. The rear unbelted passenger of the BMW, Ryan BANDURKA (31yrs) of Stoney Creek Ontario succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the BMW, Tiane SCOTT (21yrs) of Kitchener has been arrested and charged with Impaired Driving Cause Death, Over 80mg BAC and Dangerous Driving Cause Death. She is scheduled to appear in court on the 11th of July. The other parties to the collision suffered only minor injuries. Alcohol, speed and failure to wear seatbelts were factors in this collision. Man arrested with firearm

On Sunday, June 29th, 2014 at 1:35 a.m., the Guelph Police Service were notified by the Ontario Provincial Police that they had received information that there was a male with a handgun in the area of Watson Parkway and Fleming Drive.

Guelph Police and O.P.P. attended into the area and located a 25 year old male with a handgun at a residence in the area. The male refused to cooperate and the Guelph Police Service Tactics and Rescue Unit attended to the scene. At approx. 4:18 a.m., the male surrendered without incident and was taken to the Guelph General Hospital. The handgun was determined to be a pellet pistol.

The incident is still under investigation.

Motor vehicle collision leads to assault charges (request for witnesses)

On June 28, 2014 at approximately 11:37 am the Chatham Kent Police were called to attend a motor vehicle collision on Murray Street, Wallaceburg. Through investigation it was learned that the victim; a 27 year old Chatham man, was travelling on Murray street when he slowed for a vehicle entering a private drive. When he did this the driver of the vehicle immediately behind him struck the rear of his vehicle and allegedly pressed the accelerator pushing the victim’s vehicle forward. When the vehicles came to a stop the victim exited his vehicle and approached the other involved driver who punched the victim in the face. As a result of the incident a 37 year old Wallaceburg man was charged with dangerous driving and assault. He was released with a future court date. The victim did not require any medical attention.

Male arrested and charged with domestic assault charges

On the 29th of June 2010 at about 1:20 p.m. Chatham-Kent Police responded to a domestic disturbance call on Delaware Ave. in Chatham. The 23 year old female victim had been assaulted and had suffered some minor injuries. The 22 year old male suspect from London had already left the scene however he was located and arrested a short time later.

The male was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, mischief and overcoming resistance and held for a bail hearing.

Breach of recognizance, Chatham

On June 29, 2014 at approximately 1:30 am the Chatham Kent Police located a male party walking on King Street, Chatham. Police conducted a records check and learned the male party was on a court ordered recognizance with a curfew condition. He was in violation of this condition and was arrested and transported to the Chatham Kent Police Headquarters where he was lodged. As a result of this investigation a 17 year old Chatham youth will appear in bail court today.

Family argument leads to criminal charges

On June 28, 2014 at approximately 9:12 pm the Chatham Kent Police were contacted to attend a Park Street Chatham address following information of a male party in the residence causing problems. Upon arrival the suspect had left the residence. It was learned through investigation that the male party allegedly caused damage in the residence and threatened a family member with a knife. The suspect was located a short time later and was arrested and transported to the Chatham Kent Police Headquarters. As a result of his actions a 20 year old Chatham man will face charges of Mischief, Utter threats and Weapons Dangerous. He was released with a future court date and will have to adhere to a number of conditions until the matter is concluded in court.

Break and Enter Forhan Street, Wallaceburg

On June 27, 2014 at approximately 11:15 am the Chatham Kent Police were called to attend a Forhan Street, Wallaceburg address after the home owner discovered the residence had been entered and property stolen. The rear door had been entered and once inside the thief made off with a red and grey mountain bike valued at $100.

Motor Vehicle Collision – Cyclist struck

On June 27, 2014 the Chatham Kent Police attended Heritage Road and Riverview Drive, Chatham for a motor vehicle collision where a cyclist was struck. The involved cyclist; a 39 year old Chatham woman, was assessed at the scene by Emergency Services and transported to the Chatham Kent Health Alliance – Public General Campus with minor injuries. The driver of the involved motor vehicle; an 83 year old Chatham man, was charged with a highway traffic act offence for failing to yield right of way to a pedestrian.

Assault and Mischief – Wallaceburg

On June 27, 2014 at approximately 10:57 pm the Chatham Kent Police were contacted to investigate an assault complaint on Dufferin Avenue, Wallaceburg. Through police investigation it was learned that a male party allegedly approached the victim while he was in his vehicle grabbing him by his shirt and punched him. He then kicked the victim’s vehicle as he was leaving causing damage to the driver’s door. The accused, a 30 year old Walpole Island man was located and arrested. He was eventually released with a future court date charged with assault and Mischief. The victim, a 19 year old Wallaceburg man did not require any medical attention.
