Drunk Driver Arrested At RIDE – BLACKPORT

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On December 24, 2019, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in the area of Perth Line 36 and Perth Road 122 in the Township of Perth East. During that time, officers spoke with the driver of a sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Sebringville OPP detachment for further testing.

William George BLACKPORT, 63-years-old, of the City of Stratford was charged with:

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on

January 13th, 2020.

Driver Seriously Injured In ATV Crash

(CARRICK TWP, ON) – On June 28, 2014 at 1:29 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) crash in a farmer’s field located in the 500 block of Bruce County Road 12, Carrick Township. Officers attended with members of the Huron County OPP and Bruce County paramedics to find there were 2 people on the ATV and neither was wearing a helmet.

The male driver was taken to hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.

The female passenger was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit is assisting the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Cyclist Hit and Run Update: Police Seek Transport Truck With Flatbed Trailer

(HURON TWP, ON) – On June 26, 2014 at 8:57 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a fail to remain crash involving a bicycle on Concession 12 in Huron Township. Officers attended with Bruce County Paramedics and the Ripley Fire Department to find an injured cyclist in the ditch north of Concession 12. The involved vehicle wasn’t at the scene of the crash.

The cyclist was transported to hospital by ambulance and then air lifted to another hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigation unit and OPP Forensic Identification unit are assisting the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.

Investigators are looking to speak with the driver of a transport truck and flat-bed trailer. The truck will have damage around the passenger side headlight and the driver may not be aware of the crash.

Concession 12 was closed for the protection of emergency responders, but has since re-opened to traffic.

Police Investigate Head On Crash

(BRANT TWP, ON) – On June 29, 2014 at 11:58 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a head on crash on Bruce County Road 10 between Concession 12 and Concession 14 in Brant Township. Officers attended with Bruce County paramedics, Grey County paramedics and Elmwood Fire Department to find three vehicles involved in the crash.

A Brown Nissan Altima was north bound in the south bound lane, to pass another vehicle, when it collided with a Black GMC Sierra pick-up truck that was travelling south bound. A south bound Silver Toyota Yaris received minor damage when it struck the rear of the Black GMC pick-up.

Six people were transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Air Ambulance attended the scene, but wasn’t used.

The driver of the Altima, 21 year old Roman BARBURIE of Hanover, was charged with Pass when roadway not clear.

Bruce County Road 10 was closed for the protection of emergency responders, but has since re-opened to traffic.

OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT FROM RESIDENCE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a theft from a Crestlynn Crescent, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Saturday, June 28, 2014 between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., unknowns attended the address and entered the residence. Once inside, unknowns removed a large quantity of Canadian currency from the clothing of the home owner while they were sleeping.

Police are encouraging residents to secure their doors and windows in order to prevent anyone from entering their home.

COLLISION CLAIMS LIFE OF ONE MAN Victim Identified

(SUDBURY, ON) – On June 29, 2014 at 11:45 p.m., officers from the Sudbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision in the westbound lanes of Highway 17 (just west of the Vermillion River Bridge) in the City of Greater Sudbury.

Investigation revealed that a westbound car drove off the roadway into the centre median. The car subsequently struck a rock cut and rolled over.

The male driver and lone occupant was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigation revealed he was not wearing his seatbelt.

The driver has been identified as Donald James McDONELL, age 24 of Elliot Lake, ON.

An OPP Collision Reconstructionist and a Technical Traffic Collision Investigator attended the scene and are assisting with the investigation.

The westbound lanes of Highway 17 were closed until 5:00 a.m. while officers completed their investigation.

The investigation is continuing.

OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a theft from a Pine Ridge Crescent, Port Dover, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Saturday, June 28, 2014 between 10:30 a.m. and 11:25 a.m., unknowns attended the address and proceeded to remove a child’s red plastic wagon and metal scooter from the rear yard of the residence.

OPP INVESTIGATING BREAK AND ENTER

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a Break and Enter at a Arnold Sayeau Drive, Delhi, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

Between Thursday June 26, 2014 and Saturday, June 28, 2014, unknowns attended Hitch ‘n Go RV Sales and gained entry in the business. Nothing appears to have been taken and residents are reminded to contact police immediately if they observe any suspicious activity.

OPP INVESTIGATING ATTEMPT THEFT

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating an attempted theft from a James Street, Delhi, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, June 27, 2014 at approximately 5:34 p.m., an unknown male suspect attended the address and was in the process of removing a validation sticker from the plate of a parked motor vehicle when he was observed by the vehicle owner.

The male fled to a vehicle and was last seen travelling south bound on James Street.

The male is described as white, mid 20’s, and was wearing a baseball hat. The vehicle is described as an older black pick-up truck with a loud muffler.

OPP CONTACTED AFTER VEHICLE ENTERS TOBACCO FARM

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating an act of mischief at a 1st Concession Road, Middleton, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, June 27, 2014, in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the address with an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and proceeded to enter a tobacco field. The unknowns then began to drive through the field causing damage to various tobacco plants.

The total amount of damage is estimated at approximately $500 dollars.

The OPP want to remind all residents that if they see anything suspicious to please contact the police. If anyone is found committing acts of Mischief, appropriate charges will be laid.

Brandon PERRY – Drunk Driving, Drive While Suspended

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 27, 2014 at approximately 6:25 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Conservation Road east of Victoria Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

At this time and location officers investigated the driver of a 1995 Plymouth that entered into the check point. Upon speaking with the driver, police discovered that he had been drinking. He was administered a Roadside Screening Device test which resulted in a fail. Further investigation revealed that the driver’s licence was suspended.

The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle impounded for seven days.

Brandon PERRY aged 28 of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 MGS contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Drive While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on August 1, 2014 to answer to the charges.

Dale Roger BOYER – Break and Enter, Breach

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On June 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. officers from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a call of a suspicious male on Washington Crescent in Elliot Lake. Officers attended the area and located a residence that had recently been broken into and found the suspect still inside. He was arrested without incident. Charged is 40 year old Dale Roger BOYER of Elliot Lake. He is charged with two counts of break and enter and failing to comply with a probation order.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

THEFT FROM VEHICLES

(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received six theft from motor vehicle complaints in the last few days in Collingwood.

The thefts took place over the weekend on Findlay Drive, Brock Crescent, two on Birch Street and two on Clark Street in the Town of Collingwood. Stolen were 3 wallets, a Nintendo Wii gaming system, a Coleman 8 person tent and 2 sleeping bags. Investigation is ongoing and police are asking for the public’s help in solving these crimes.

DOWNTOWN TRENTON BREAK AND ENTER ARRESTS

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On June 28th, 2014 Quinte West OPP responded to a report of an alarm at a downtown Trenton business. As police arrived on scene they were made aware of a possible suspect for a broken window. As police approached the male party he attempted to evade police but was subsequently arrested after a short foot pursuit.

While police were investigating the break and enter they were also made aware of a second break and enter in the same area and another possible suspect in the matter.

As a result of the investigation police have arrested a 21 year old Ameliasburgh male and a 16 year old Trenton male. The 21 year old has been charged with Break and Enter x 2, Theft Under $5000 x 2 and Mischief Under $5000 x 3. The 16 year old male has been charged with Break and Enter, Theft Under $5000 and Mischief Under $5000.

Both males were released with August Court dates.

Raymond Rodney ALLEN – Drunk Driving

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On June 29th, 2014 at approximately 6:10pm Quinte West OPP responded to a report of a traffic complaint on Dundas St, Trenton.

Police managed to locate the vehicle in question a short time later on Dixon Dr. Police spoke to the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Raymond Rodney ALLEN, 34 of Belleville.

After an investigation the officer determined that the male had been drinking and he was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation.

ALLEN has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle as well as Driving with More than 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood. ALLEN was released with a court date in July.
