BREAK AND ENTER

(Madoc Twp, ON) – Sometime between May 29, 2014 at 5 p.m. and June 2, 2014 at 6:30 a.m. a break and enter occurred to a Hydro One storage site on Highway #62 just north of Kellers Bridge Road in Madoc Township.

The suspect(s) entered a fenced perimeter and broke into two trailers located inside. Numerous construction related tools and items were stolen including an air compressor, air impact tool, quick cut saw, as well as safety glasses, work gloves and paint brushes.

DRIVER IDENTIFIED IN FATAL COLLISION

(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On May 29, 2014 at 4:40 p.m. officers from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a car and a tractor trailer where the driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver has been identified as 51 year old Daryl Todd PRICE of Cypress River Manitoba.

A 26 year old male from West Grey was arrested and charged with Possessionfor the Purpose of Trafficking a Controlled Substance X2, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order as a result of a traffic stop (bicycle) on Garafraxa Street Durham at 4:15am on June 1, 2014. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and was turned over to the Owen Sound Police Service who held a warrant for his arrest.

Sometime between Tuesday May 27th at 6:00pm and Thursday May 29th at 8:00am suspect(s) cut the chain link fence on the South end of a property at Roberts Equipment and removed two small Kubota shipping tires and the size of a lawn tractor tire worth $150.00 each.
The tire size is 500X12 Bridgestone mounted on a 8 blot baby blue rim. If you have any information in relation to this theft please contact the West Grey Police Service or Crimestoppers

MVC PERSONAL INJURY

At approximately 6:45 am, on Tuesday the 3rd of June 2014, police responded to a single vehicle roll over on Arthur Street, south of Sawmill Road, in Woolwich Township. The vehicle was travelling north when the driver, a 19 year old Kitchener woman, lost control and slid into the ditch on the east side of the road. The vehicle rolled a number of times. The driver and lone occupant, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Charges are pending.

ROBBERY

On June 2, 2014 at approximately 9:30p.m. a robbery occurred at a variety store on Elgin St. in the city of Cambridge. A lone male dressed in a blue shirt and black pants with a covered face entered the store. The male approached the clerk and presented a knife. The suspect then stole cash and fled on foot. No one was injured in this incident. The parties are known to one another. THEFT UNDER $5000

On Monday, June 02, 2014 at 2:36am police received a call to attend the Cambridge Centre Mall located at 355 Hespeler Road, Cambridge in regard to a grease theft. At 2:38am police located a commercial motor vehicle seen earlier and two male suspects. A 40 year old Burlington man and a 44 year old Stoney Creek man were subsequently arrested for theft under $5,000 & possession of stolen property under $5,000. The vehicle was seized by police. The accused parties were later released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.

Police vehicle struck

On May 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., a Guelph Police officer in a marked cruiser was stopped at a red light facing northbound on Victoria Road at Stone Road. The cruiser was struck from behind by a 1998 Toyota. The officer was treated at Guelph General Hospital for minor injuries and the driver of the other vehicle, a 47-year-old Guelph male, was charged with careless driving. The police vehicle sustained minor damage and the Toyota sustained extensive damage.

Break and enter

On June 2, 2014 at 12:35 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Queensdale Crescent home to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered by damaging the front door sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The culprit(s) exited through the back door, which would lead to Westacres Drive. The home was ransacked but at the time of this release, it was not known whether a theft had occurred. Investigation discovered a description of a potential person of interest. A white male, late 30’s to early 40’s, blonde hair or shaved head wearing a white T-shirt and blue/green hospital style pants. He was carrying a white pillowcase. This male was last seen in the area of Fife Road and Elmira Road.

Law Enforcement Torch Run

The Guelph Police and The Guelph Special Olympians Join Together for the 2014 Law Enforcement Torch Run in Support of Special Olympics

The 2014 Law Enforcement Torch Run takes place on Wednesday June 4th, 2014. The Guelph Police and local law enforcement agencies will be taking to the road, for a 5 k run, commencing at 2:15 p.m.

The run will begin on Highway 6 and Woodlawn Rd., and will involve 85 runners from the Guelph Police, Cooperators, (our community partner) and local Community living agencies. The runners will run south on Woolwich St, to the Cooperators building and then to the police station for a BBQ event sponsored by Pillers. Pillers has also been a longtime community supporter.

The Guelph Police recognize at times there may be traffic congestion, however we appreciate the community support and patience for this great cause.

Retired Reverend Charged with Sex Related Offences

The Chatham-Kent Police Service continues to investigate a retired reverend for historical sexual offences involving school aged male children.

Through investigation, two adult men have come forward with allegations.

Harry BRYDON, 65 years, of Harrow has been arrested and charged with two counts of administering a noxious substance and one count of sexual assault dating back to 1986. He has been released with conditions pending a future court date.

BRYDON was employed as a reverend at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 18 Dolsen Road in Chatham between 1984 and 1988 where the victims and their families were members of the congregation.

Woman Arrested from CKPS Wanted List

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman from their ‘Wanted List’.

Around 5:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police located the woman on Grand Avenue East in Chatham. The woman was wanted on outstanding warrants for theft under $5000 x2, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 x2 and failing to attend court x3.

Lynn Gallerno, 42 years, of Alexandra Avenue in Chatham was released with conditions pending a future court date.

Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a domestic related incident.

On May 31, 2014 the man was released from custody with several conditions. Two of these conditions stated that he was to notify the CKPS of his new address within 24 hours and to abstain from communicating directly or indirectly with a specific Chatham woman.

On this same date, shortly after his release, the man called the woman and left a message on her voicemail. On June 1, 2014, the man called the woman again, leaving her a message. As of 8:00 p.m. the man still had not provided police with an address as per his release conditions.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the man on Grand Avenue East and he was arrested. The 65-year-old Chatham man has been charged with three counts of failing to comply. He has been released pending a future court date.
