Marcel VANOORT Facing Weapon & Theats Charges

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an investigation into threats.

Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation on Monday, October 9, 2025.

As a result of investigation, Marcel VANOORT, 43-years-old from Tay Valley Township has been charged with:

·        Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – two counts

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on October 9,2025.

22 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Drummond-North Elmsley resident with impaired driving.

Officers stopped two off road vehicles on Saturday, October 4, 2025, just before 9:30 p.m. on Christie Lake Road in Tay Valley Township.

During the investigation both ATVs fled the scene. The OPP Canine Unit located one of the drivers nearby and the investigation led officers to a residence where the second driver and passenger were located and arrested.

The driver was transported to the OPP Detachment in Perth for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Kolton PURDON, 22-years-old, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Obstruct peace officer

·        Flight from a peace officer

·        Drive – no helmet

·        Drive non-passenger ATV with a passenger

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, November 17, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Licence Suspended, Vehicle Impounded After Tay Valley Ditch Arrest #OPP

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley Township resident with impaired driving.

Officers responded to vehicle in the ditch on Bolingbroke Road on Monday, September 29, 2025, just before 1:00 p.m.

The officers located the vehicle, arrested the driver, and transported the individual to the OPP Detachment in Perth for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Angela PENSA, 61-years-old, of Tay Valley Township, has been charged with:

·        Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·        Novice driver – B.A.C above zero

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday October 27, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Hit & Run Driver Tajinderpal SINGH Facing Numerous Charges

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Brampton resident after recovering a stolen vehicle.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, just after 10:00 a.m., officers in Tay Valley Township responded to reports that three stolen vehicles from the Toronto area were observed eastbound on Highway 7.

Officers attempted to stop one of the vehicles on Fallbrook Rd. The driver used the vehicle to contact the police cruiser before fleeing the area on foot. Members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit located the driver a short time later.

Tajinderpal SINGH, 25-years-old of Brampton, was arrested and charged with:

·        Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

·        Dangerous operation

·        Flight from Police

·        Obstruct a Peace officer

·        Use plate not authorized

·        Fail to remain

·        Possess unmarked tobacco

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Thursday, September 18, 2025

A second vehicle was also recovered by Frontenac OPP.

Hwy 7 Collision Claims 2 Lives

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a four-vehicle collision which has resulted in two fatalities. Two others were critically injured and two individuals suffered minor injuries. 

The deceased individuals have been identified as a 59-year-old female and a 46-year-old male from Ottawa. They had been travelling in the same vehicle. Two other individuals were transported to a regional trauma centre by Air Ornge, one individual taken to hospital in Ottawa and one taken to a local hospital.

Lanark County OPP, Lanark County Paramedic Services and Drummond-North Elmsley-Tay Valley Fire Rescue responded to the collision on Highway-7, east of Maberly, just after 3:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025.

The collision involved two transport trucks, a pick-up truck and a sport utility vehicle (SUV). All individuals involved are adults. As part of the ongoing investigation it appears the two transport trucks and the SUV were travelling Eastbound and the pick-up truck was travelling Westbound.

Lanark County OPP continues to investigate, with assistance from OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Collision Reconstructionist.

Highway 7 will remain closed between County Road 36 and County Road 511 for several hours. Marked detours are in place.

Mathieu RIENDEAU Was Arrested

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Quebec resident after recovering a stolen vehicle.

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, just before 3:30 a.m. officers on patrol on Highway 7 in Tay Valley Township had received an Automated Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) notification that a stolen vehicle had been detected. The vehicle stopped in Perth, and further investigation confirmed that the vehicle to be stolen from Collingwood. An individual was taken into custody.

Mathieu RIENDEAU, 38-years-old of Quebec, has been charged with:

·        Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

·        Dangerous operation

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and was remanded to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Tuesday, July 8, 2025

Nicholas VALLIQUETTE – Assault

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an assault investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers responded to an incident in Tay Valley Township on Saturday, June 14, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m. after a complaint was received about an individual assaulting multiple people. Prior to police arrival, the individual had fled on foot on Scotch Line Road. A short time later, the male was struck by an on-coming vehicle resulting in non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation resulted in a male being arrested.

Nicholas VALLIQUETTE, 25-years-old from Smith Falls, has been charged with:

·        Assault – two counts

·        Common nuisance

·        Pedestrian on roadway (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Lawn Tractor Driver Arrested For Impaired

(TAY VALLEY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Taking a lawn tractor for a drive along a recreational trail has resulted in an impaired driving charge for a Tay Valley Township resident.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, shortly after 9:00 p.m., officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting traffic enforcement along Highway 7, between Perth and Maberly, when they observed a lawn tractor being operated on an ATV trail. When the rider spotted the officers, he drove off in the opposite direction. The officers were able to intercept and stop the individual on the trail.

An approved alcohol screening device was utilized, and the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Jim DIXON, age 59 of Tay Valley Township, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on June 16, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the lawn mower was returned to its rightful location.

James LARMON – Drunk Driving

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley resident with impaired driving.

Officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Narrows Lock Road in Tay Valley Township on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, just after 5:30 p.m.

The officer, while conducting a traffic investigation, arrested and transported the individual to the Lanark Detachment in Perth for testing.

As a result of the investigation, James LARMON, age 36, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on May 26, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension), and the vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

81 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Perth resident with impaired driving.

Officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Noonan Side Road in Tay Valley Township on Friday, March 14, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m.

A male was arrested and transported to the Perth hospital for testing. Test samples were sent to the Centre of Forensic Science in Toronto.

As a result of those tests and the investigation, Denis CORDICK, age 81, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – Alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on May 26, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension).

William CAMPBELL Facing Numerous Charges

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Montague Township resident with impaired driving and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle on the side of the road and the driver slumped over on Highway 7 at Gambles Side Road, in Tay Valley Township on Sunday, April 27, 2025, just after 11:00 a.m.

The officers, while conducting a traffic investigation, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the Lanark Detachment in Perth for testing. A search of the vehicle located a large amount of cash, suspected cocaine, suspected methamphetamine and suspected psilocybin, as well as weapons.

As a result of the investigation, William CAMPBELL, 28-years-old, of Montague Township, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts

·        Possession of schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking

·        Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on May 26, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Hubert ENNIS Was Arrested

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley Township resident with impaired driving.

Officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check on Glen Tay Road on Saturday, April 26, 2025, just before 3:00 p.m.

The officers, while conducting a traffic investigation, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the Lanark Detachment in Perth for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Hubert ENNIS, 66-years-old, of Tay Valley Township, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on May 26, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Edward HANSON Arrested After Poor Driving Complaint

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Sunderland resident with impaired driving.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 7, just West of Perth, in Tay Valley Township on Thursday, April 24, 2025, just after 6:00 p.m., after receiving complaints of poor driving.

The officer, while conducting a traffic investigation, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the Perth Detachment for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Edward HANSON, 49-years-old, of Sunderland, Ontario, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Drive no currently validated permit – Highway Traffic Act

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on May 26, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Pervert Alert – Brandon ADAMS: Child Pornography

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid a charge following a child exploitation investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation in June of 2024, involving a suspect accessing child pornography.

Lanark County OPP, with assistance from the Lanark County Crime Unit and the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence and devices were seized. They were found to contain images of child pornography.

Brandon ADAMS, 37-years-old, was arrested on Wednesday, April 16,2025 and charged with accessing child pornography.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on April 16, 2025.

3 Arrested Following Break & Enters

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following two break-ins, on back-to-back nights, at a commercial business.

Lanark County OPP officers responded to a break and enter in progress at a business on Narrows Lock Road in Tay Valley Township, on Monday, March 24, 2025 at approximately 3:20 a.m. and discovered damage to the property. The OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team conducted a search of the area, but the individuals were not located.

The next night, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, police were contacted just after 3:30 a.m. about three masked people on the property. The OPP Canine Unit attended, along with Lanark County OPP and members of the Community Street Crime Unit. Three individuals were arrested.

Scott BARRETT, 39-years-old of Kingston, Chantelle JOHNSTON, 40-years-old of Loyalist Township and Brandon MILBERRY,42-years-old, of Smiths Falls have been charged with:

·      Break and enter

·      Mischief under $5000

·      Possession of property under $ 5000

The accused were all released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on April 7, 2025.
