Stephanie LAROCQUE – Drunk Driving

(TOWNSHIP OF HAMILTON, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver following a two-vehicle collision in the Township of Hamilton.

On August 13, 2024, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Township of Hamilton Fire Department and OPP responded to a report of a collision involving two passenger vehicles on County Road 45.

Police arrived on the scene where involved parties were being treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

Upon speaking with one of the drivers, officers determined the individual to be under the influence of alcohol. OPP made an Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand and the driver refused to comply. The accused was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

Stephanie LAROCQUE, 31-years-old, from Havelock, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and they vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Northumberland OPP remind motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol and drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, rideshare, public transit or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.

Derek DISEPOLO Was Arrested Again!

(STRATHROY-CARADOC, ON) – Routine traffic stop leads to multiple charges for driver.

On August 11, 2024, at 4:06 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol, observed a suspicious vehicle on Head Street North, while travelling through Strathroy in Strathroy-Caradoc.

A traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, Derek DISEPOLO, a 50-year-old of Adelaide Metcalfe, has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code (two counts)

·      Driving while under suspension (five counts)

The accused has been released from police custody and is and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on September 24, 2024, to speak to the charges.

Margaret SUTHERLAND – Drunk Driving

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in New Liskeard led to the arrest of an impaired driver.

On August 13, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Temiskaming Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE program on Lakeshore Road South in Haileybury. A vehicle approached the checkpoint, and it was determined that the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the Temiskaming Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Margaret SUTHERLAND, 52 years-of-age of South Glengarry, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Assault a Peace Officer

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on September 3, 2024. She was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and her motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Patrick MCGINLEY – Drinking & Driving

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered an investigation where one individual was arrested and charged for impaired and forgery related offences. After the individual was located unconscious inside a vehicle outside of the Central Region Headquarters of the Ontario Provincial Police in the City of Orillia.

On August 10, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., officers from the Orillia detachment of the OPP were alerted to an individual unconscious within a vehicle in the parking lot of the Central Region Headquarters. Officers located the individual within the vehicle and entered into a traffic investigation, where the individual was arrested and charged with impaired related offences, along with forgery related offences.  

As a result, Patrick MCGINLEY, 18-year-old, from Orillia has been subsequently charged with:

  • Have care or control of motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Young driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Adult forgery

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges on September 17, 2024.

Dennis EWALD – Impaired Driving

(Fort Frances, ON) – A routine traffic stop resulted in impaired driving charges for a Fort Frances resident.

On August 13, 2024, at approximately 12:30 am, an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Fort Frances Detachment conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1000 block of King’s Highway. The officer determined that the driver had been drinking and administered a roadside screening test. The driver failed the test which resulted in their arrest and subsequent transport to the Fort Frances Detachment where additional breath alcohol testing was conducted by a Qualified Technician.

Dennis EWALD, 66-years-old of Fort Frances ON, is charged with one count of operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and one count of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released by police and is scheduled to appear in the Fort Frances Court of Justice on September 23, 2024. 

Impaired driving is a public safety emergency. If you suspect someone is driving impaired by alcohol or drugs call 911. If you plan on drinking, do it responsibly and do not plan on driving. Make your arrangements to get home safely before you go out. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant in the Town of Huntsville, resulting in the recovery of stolen property and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs.

On August 2, 2024, members of the OPP Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Orillia Detachment CSCU, and Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Main Street.

As a result of the investigation, police recovered 39 tools and pieces of machinery that had been previously stolen from a local business.

In addition, the following was seized:  

·      203.70 grams of Psilocybin (Mushrooms)

·      98.76 grams of Cocaine

·      39.79 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy)

·      Four Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) Vape Pens

·      119.05 grams of Illicit Cannabis

·      51 milliliters of Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB)

·      $5,130 Canadian Currency

·      Miscellaneous Tablets

The following individuals have been arrested and charged: 

James Brooks, a 44-year-old from Huntsville:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs

·      Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking

·      Possession for the purpose of distributing

·      Possession Property obtained by crime over $5000

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of Proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 17, 2024.

Kelly Filmore, a 30-year-old from Huntsville:

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other drugs

·      Possession of Proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking

The accused was released on an Appearance notice and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 17, 2024.

(CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) On August 8, 2024, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a blue motorcycle on St. David St. North, Centre Wellington. As a result of the investigation, Cristian F. MARIN ARANGO, 37-years-old of Kitchener, was charged with:

– Flight from Peace Officer

– Operation while prohibited contrary to the C.C.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on August 23, 2024.

OPP Urges Tweed Residents To Report If Items Are Missing

(TWEED, ON) – The Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is urging residents of the Tweed area to check their vehicles for any missing items.

Officers were called to Stoco Road just after 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, after a suspicious person was reported to be in the area. They located an individual in the area who matched the description of the prowler.

The male was arrested, and a search located numerous items which appeared to have been taken from multiple vehicles, including pairs of sunglasses, colognes, cosmetics and cell phone charges. An OPP cruiser was damaged during the arrest.

Allan LAIDLEY, age 41 of Belleville, has been charged with:

  • Mischief
  • Trespassing at night
  • Theft under $5000 from a vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime.

The accused remains in custody, pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

Dallas JACOLETTI Was Arrested

(SOUTHWOLD, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas Detachment has charged an individual following a collision investigation.

On August 13, 2024, at approximately 3:50 a.m., emergency services including members of the Elgin County OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Bush Line near John Wise Line, Township of Southwold.

The investigating officer observed signs of impairment from the driver of the vehicle. This individual was taken into custody without incident.

The individual was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Dallas JACOLETTI, a 31-year-old from Southwold Township was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on September 24, 2024.

Pervert Alert: George DANAYAN Arrested – Police Fear More Victims

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit has charged a Cambridge Ontario resident with six criminal offences following a child luring investigation. 

The Huron County OPP commenced an investigation in March of 2024, following a report of an individual communicating with a victim under the age of 13 using a social media site.

As a result of the investigation, police identified the suspect who was subsequently arrested and charged.

George DANAYAN, 27-years-of-age from Cambridge has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

–      Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Person Under 18 years of age,

–      Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Person Under 16 years of age,

–      Luring a Person Under 18 years of age by means of Telecommunication,

–      Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by means of Telecommunication,

–      Invitation to Sexual Touching under 16 years of age,

–      Possession of Child Pornography.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and later remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Goderich in August 2024. 

Police believe there may be other incidents involving the suspect. Alias usernames utilized by the suspect included “Stintam”, “Stalkham”, “Jason Stintam”, and “Jason Stalkham”.

Claudine CHABOYER Facing Numerous Charges

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating several criminal acts of mischief in the City of Pembroke.   

On August 8, 2024, police began investigating after a number of businesses and residents reported their phone and/or internet cables had been cut causing communication outages. The incidents took place at locations on Pembroke Street West, Victoria Street, MacKay Street and McAllister Street. 

As a result of multiple investigations Claudine CHABOYER, 53 years old, of Pembroke has been charged with 13 counts of mischief, 10 counts of fail to comply and two counts of theft under $5,000.

The accused was arrested on August 12, 2024, and is being held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on August 13, 2024.

Gordon BURKE – Drunk Driving

(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Perth resident with impaired driving.

A Lanark OPP officer spotted a fast-moving vehicle on Craig Street in Perth on Saturday, August 10, 2024, around 10:00 p.m. The officer watched as the vehicle turned onto Highway-43 and was being driven in an erratic manner.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and the driver was arrested for suspicion of impaired driving. The individual was transported to the Lanark Detachment for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Gordon BURKE, age 49, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Speeding
  • Fail to have an insurance card

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on September 9, 2024.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension) and vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

Truck Vs. Zurich Home

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a collision involving a pickup truck and a residence in the Municipality of Bluewater (Zurich) which has caused extensive damage to the home located on Goshen Street North. 

Huron County OPP were dispatched to the scene of a collision on Monday, August 12th, 2024, at 5:20 p.m. Upon arrival, emergency services discovered that a pickup truck had left the roadway and impacted a single-family home on Goshen St. N. The residents were not home at the time of the collision. The collision caused extensive damage to the home. The lone vehicle driver has been identified as a 42-year-old Greely Ontario resident who was uninjured. Alcohol was a factor, and the cause of the collision is being investigated.

The driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with the offence of Careless Driving.

Nathan BARRET – Theft, Etc.

(TOWNSHIP OF CRAMAHE , ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made an arrest in relation to the theft of a motor vehicle in Colborne.

On August 9, 2024, at approximately 8:05 a.m., OPP responded to a report of an unlocked motor vehicle stolen from outside a business on King Street East.

Officers patrolled the area and a short time later, a vehicle matching the description provided was observed being driven westbound on Highway 401 in the Township of Hamilton. Officers then confirmed that it was the stolen vehicle in question.

A traffic stop was conducted, and the vehicle pulled over at a location off County Road 28 in the Municipality of Port Hope. The driver exited the vehicle and was subsequently arrested by police. The individual would not identify themselves and details were later ascertained through investigation.

Nathan BARRET, 33-years-old, from Binbrook, has been charged with:

–      Theft of motor vehicle

–      Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

–      Obstruct Peace Officer

–      Theft under $5,000

–      Operation while prohibited

–      Breach of recognisance.

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg
