(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Individual from Belmont facing assault charges.

On January 1, 2025, at 1:21 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a disturbance involving multiple individuals, on Slo-Pitch Road in the Municipality of Thames Centre.

As a result, Sheena HILLIER a 36-year-old of Belmont, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault (two counts)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on February 18, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Coby FLEWELLING – Assault

(MUNSEE-DELAWARE FIRST NATION, ON) – Disturbance at a residence in Munsee-Delaware First Nation leads to charges. 

On December 31, 2024, at 1:44 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oneida Nation Police and Chippewas of the Thames Police were dispatched to an address on Middlemiss Drive, Munsee-Delaware First Nation, for the report of a disturbance.

Investigation revealed the victim had been assaulted by a family member.

The injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.

As a result, Coby FLEWELLING, a 21-year-old of Munsee Delaware First Nation has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  • Discharge Air Gun or Pistol with Intent

The accused was held for bail.

Pedstrian Hospitalized Following Hit & Run

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Driver charged following a collision with a pedestrian.

On January 1, 2025, at 6:50 a.m., members of the Oneida Nation Police, Chippewas of the Thames Police, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service, were dispatched to Hazel Road in Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation for the report of a fail to remain collision.

A vehicle struck a pedestrian and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The pedestrian suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to local hospital.

Members of the Middlesex County Crime unit were called in to assist with the investigation, at which time the driver of the vehicle was identified.

As a result, Savannah DOXTATOR, a 24-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Fail to stop at accident resulting in bodily harm

The accused was held for bail.

If you are involved in a motor vehicle collision on a highway or roadway in Ontario, it is your responsibility as the driver of the vehicle to remain at or immediately return to the scene of the collision, render assistance and exchange information in relation to the driver’s identity, vehicle and insurance information.

Hit & Run Driver Facing Numerous Charges

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired driving after fleeing the scene of a collision in Brampton.

On December 30, 2024, just after 10:00 p.m., an officer on patrol located a vehicle with no front plate and no headlights on Airport Road, in the Town of Caledon. The vehicle was stopped and found to have significant front-end collision damage. It was later discovered that the driver was involved in a failed to remain collision in Brampton earlier that same day. During the interaction, the officer formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

As a result of the investigation, Surjeet SINGH, 30, of Cambridge, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol

• Failure or refusal to comply with demand

• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

• Drive with improper headlights

• Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates 

• Operate unsafe vehicle

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on January 16, 2025, to answer to the charges. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of a Mahindra tractor with attachments stolen from a property in the Municipality of Huron East, Brussels.

On December 28, 2024, Huron OPP officers received a report that the tractor had been stolen sometime between December 27 and 28, 2024. The tractor is described as follows:

Red Mahindra 1526H tractor with front loader, rear snow blower and soft cab cover. Serial #’s M1060RD206561, 26H17041377, 171702736.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – 2 Arrested

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- Roommates take car without consent.

On January 1, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a stolen vehicle that had been taken from a parking lot on West Street in the Town of Blind River sometime after 4:00 p.m. the previous day.

The investigation revealed two roommates had taken the car keys from the owner’s a pants pocket. At approximately 2:00 p.m., while searching for the stolen black vehicle, officers spotted it traveling eastbound on Highway 17 toward Blind River.

A traffic stop was initiated on Causley Street, where both the driver and passenger were arrested and transported to the Blind River Detachment.

During the investigation, it was determined that the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance. Further testing was then conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) from the Mississauga First Nation Police Service.

As a result, the driver Donna SMITH, 60 years-old from Blind River was charged with:

  • Take motor vehicle without consent
  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Drive motor vehicle – licence

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on February 6, 2025.

The passenger, Mindy BROWN, 40 years-old from Blind River was charged with: Take motor vehicle without consent

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on March 6, 2025.

Citizen Fights Back Against Town Hall #Hero #StandYourGround

(Harrowsmith, ON) – An individual involved in a property dispute with South Frontenac Township employees has been arrested and charged.

On December 11, 2024 a property dispute at a residence in South Frontenac Township took place after municipal employees had been working in the area. A verbal argument escalated to having the individual taking tools and equipment away from the workers. The confrontation caused the employees to leave the work site for their safety.

The individual continued the property dispute by leaving messages and emails for different township employees using vulgar, intimidating and threatening language, preventing them from working in the area.

Frontenac OPP members recovered the damaged tools and equipment, belonging to the township. As a result of the investigation Dylan Burgess, aged 31, of South Frontenac Township was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft under $5000.
  • Mischief – interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property under $5000.
  • Criminal Harassment – threatening conduct.

The individual was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on January 03, 2025.

Drunk Driver Arrested In North Huron – Details Released

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Waterloo resident with Impaired driving offences following a sobriety check at a Festive “Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere” (R.I.D.E.) checkpoint on December 28, 2024, in the Township of North Huron. 

Just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, Huron County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE check in Whitechurch on Amberley Road. A vehicle driver pulled up to the checkpoint to speak with police about an unrelated matter at which time officers determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Ishrad RAHAMAN, 56 years of age from Waterloo has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – Alcohol and Drugs

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 20, 2025.

Victim Blocks Hit & Run Drunk Driver Until Police Arrive #FightBack #StandYourGround

(PENETANGUISHENE, ON) –  A Penetanguishene resident faces a slew of driving/drug/alcohol related offences after an early New Years Day fail to remain collision investigation in Midland.

An officer from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on patrol, was waved down by a male at approximately 1:01 a.m. January 1, 2025, who appeared to have his grey Ford parked as to intentionally block a residential driveway on Hugel Avenue, Midland. Upon speaking with the male it was learned that a black Cadillac parked further into the driveway was involved in a nearby collision with the complainant and the vehicle had fled the scene and entered the driveway.

The officer located the suspect Cadillac and driver in the Hugel Avenue driveway and entered into an impaired driving investigation after conversation. A further investigation at the scene inside the vehicle led to the seizure of open liquor and also a quantity of a white powdery substance believed to be Methamphetamine.

As a result of these investigations, Anthony BROWN 25 years of Penetanguishene has been charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

And Further with the following offence contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

And Further with the following Provincial Offences

  • Careless driving
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Fail to remain
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on the January 16, 2025, and also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and the subject of a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Pedestrian Struck

(KENORA, ON) – The Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking witnesses to a motor vehicle collision (MVC) involving a pedestrian.

On January 1, 2025, shortly before 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on McClellan Avenue. The suspect was driving a black Honda Civic at the time of the incident. There is no immediate risk to public safety. The investigation is ongoing.

Setting Off Fireworks While Walking Gets Matthew SANGSTER Arrested Again – Meth A Factor

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident following an incident on Anne Street in the Town of Exeter, Municipality of South Huron. 

On Thursday, January 02, 2025, just after 9:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers were patrolling in the Town of Exeter when they observed an individual setting off fireworks while walking on Anne Street. Police subsequently arrested the individual and located illegal weapons and drugs.

Matthew SANGSTER, 35 years of age from South Huron has been charged with the following offences:

–      Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition – (two counts),

–      Carry Concealed Prohibited Device or Ammunition – (two counts),

–      Possession of Methamphetamine,

–      Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking,

–      Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – (two counts),

The accused was processed at the Huron OPP detachment and has been held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Hand Gun Seized In Home Invasion Investigation

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in connection to yesterday’s home invasion investigation.

On January 2, 2025, shortly after 5:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to a private residence on Ann McKee Street in Caledon East for a report of a home invasion in progress. 

The suspect was operating a black Jeep Wrangler. Investigators are looking for surveillance or dashcam footage of the area on January 2, 2025, between the hours of 5:15 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. It is believed that this was a targeted incident and that there is no imminent threat to public safety.

Later that same day, the black Jeep Wrangler was located, and the suspect was arrested. The Caledon Community Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Caledon Major Crime Unit and OPP Centre Region Canine, executed a search warrant on both the suspect vehicle and residence. A handgun, ammunition, and a stolen Porsche were among the seized property.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Abhishek SHUKHAND, 26, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

• Criminal harassment – threatening conduct

• Unlawfully in dwelling house

• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

• Possession property obtained by crime over $5000

• Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

• Tampering with serial number of a firearms

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple drug and weapon related charges after a call for a disturbance was reported late in the evening of January 2nd, 2025.

On January 2, 2025, Orillia OPP were called to a residence within the city for a disturbance. Officers arrived and located two individuals attempting to leave the location. Both individuals were arrested after suspected drugs, weapons, drug paraphernalia and cellular devices were located with them.

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

·        34 grams Cocaine

·        21 grams Fentanyl

·        $2,265 Canadian currency

·        Digital scales and packaging

·        3 cellular devices

·        3 edged weapons

Susan BAZINET, 51 years old, of Orillia, has been charged with:

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000

·        Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

Jerrica SMITH, 26 years old, of Orillia, has been charged with:

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl

·        Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000

68 Year Old Arrested At RIDE – Details Released

(LAKESHORE, ON)- On January 2, 2025, at approximately 12:08 a.m., the Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Puce Road, Municipality Lakeshore

Police spoke to a driver and determined that the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to a local detachment where they completed a series of tests before an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE)

As a result of the investigation, Anthony BYRNE, 68-years-old from Lakeshore, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on January 21, 2025.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

Hotel Disturbance Ends With Weapons Charges

(PARRY SOUND, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with weapon related offences.

On December 29, 2024, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a local hotel in the Town of Parry Sound. Upon police arrival one person fled on foot but was arrested shortly after.

As a result of the investigation, Carmen GUENETTE, 28-years-of-age of North Bay was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of break in instruments

The accused was held for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound and is scheduled to appear on January 6, 2025.
