Aggravated Assault – David BAILLARGEON

(TECUMSEH, ON)- Tecumseh Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment with the assistance of the Essex County OPP Crime Unit is investigating an assault in the Town of Tecumseh.

On June 29, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to the report of an assault on Arlington Boulevard near Hayes Avenue in Tecumseh. The victim sustained injuries that required hospitalization. 

As a result, David BAILLARGEON, 56 years of age of Windsor, has been charged with:

·      Aggravated Assault

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice -Windsor on August 5, 2025.

Essex County OPP is continuing to investigate the incident and is seeking the public’s assistance. Anyone who may have been in the area of Arlington Boulevard and Hayes Avenue between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on June 29th, that has dashcam or anyone in the area who has home surveillance is being asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.

Drug Bust – PERSAUD, GEORGE & BRAKE

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of multiple specialized OPP units, has concluded a significant drug trafficking investigation in the Southgate area.

In May 2025, the Grey Bruce CSCU initiated an investigation into suspected trafficking of Schedule I substances. As a result of the investigation, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants were executed at multiple residences in the Southgate area on June 27, 2025.

The operation involved members of the OPP West Region and Central Region Tactics and Rescue Units (TRU), Emergency Response Teams (ERT), Canine Unit, and several Community Street Crime Units from across the province.

During the execution of the warrants, detectives seized:

  • 65 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 28 grams of suspected heroin
  • 10.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • Five prohibited weapons/devices, including an overcapacity handgun magazine
  • A stolen motorcycle valued at approximately $5,500
  • Suspected drug trafficking paraphernalia
  • Approximately $550 in Canadian currency

The estimated street value of the seized controlled substances is approximately $10,300. This seizure represents a significant disruption to the local drug trade.

The following individuals have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code of Canada with the following:

Sabrina PERSAUD, 38-year-old of Dundalk:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

Rajith GEORGE, 43-year-old of Dundalk:

  • Possession of a Weapon Knowing it is Prohibited (Five counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Heroin
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

Jennifer BRAKE, 39-year-old of Dundalk:

  • Possession of a Weapon Knowing it is Prohibited (Five counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Heroin
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

PERSAUD was held for a bail hearing and remanded until July 2, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound. BRAKE and GEORGE were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on July 24, 2025, also in Owen Sound.

Sheena HARRISON Arrested Twice Same Day #3Strikes

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance from members of the Dryden OPP detachment and the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team, have arrested and charged an individual for drug trafficking.

On June 28, 2025, just before 4:00 a.m., members of the Dryden OPP received a report of a suspicious vehicle at a business on Government Street in the City of Dryden. The investigation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine and crack cocaine, as well as further evidence of drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, Sheena HARRISON, 40-years-old, of Wabigoon, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offence under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

The accused was released from custody and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on August 25, 2025.

Later that same day, just before 9:00 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted on Highway 17 in the Municipality of Machin. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Sheena HARRISON and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, as well as further evidence of drug trafficking.

As a result of that investigation, Sheena HARRISON, 40-years-old, of Wabigoon, Ontario has been arrested and charged with the following offence under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

The accused has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on July 2, 2025.

Armed Home Invasion – 6 In Custody

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a home invasion in the Hillside area.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, shortly before 5:00 a.m., officers received reports of an armed home invasion at a private residence in the Hillside area, east of Huntsville. As the situation developed, the investigation extended beyond the original location, prompting the closure of Highway 11 in both directions-between Severn River Road and Coopers Falls Road, and between Canning Road and Graham Road. The highway has since fully reopened. A hold and secure order was also issued during the incident but has now been lifted.

A number of specialized units were deployed to the area, including the OPP’s Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit. Aviation Services assisted with aerial support, while crisis negotiators and crime units were actively engaged in the response. The OPP also worked closely with CN Police due to the proximity of rail lines, and with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and emergency medical services partners to ensure public safety and support operational needs. 

Following the investigation, six individuals have been taken into custody. Investigators believe additional suspects remain at large, along with a silver Honda CRV with an Ontario plate of CZFE 895. The OPP urges the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to police.

This investigation remains ongoing, and more information will be released when available. Residents of the area should expect to continue to see an increased police presence.

Another Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(LANSDOWNE, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal collision on Highway 401 in the westbound direction, between Mallorytown and Lansdowne.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Leeds OPP received reports that an occupant who had exited their parked vehicle on the shoulder of Highway 401 was struck and killed by a moving vehicle.

As a result of the severity of the collision, the East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Unit (TIME) attended the scene. This includes the OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TCI), and an OPP Collision Reconstructionist.

The OPP Forensics Identification Services have also been engaged and are assisting with the investigation, which is now being conducted in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.

The deceased was identified. Their identity will not be released to safeguard the privacy of the grieving family. A postmortem examination has been ordered and will be conducted in the near future.

The highway remained closed for several hours, allowing for a thorough and complete investigation.

Jimesleck THERASSAN Was Arrested

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Ottawa resident as a result of an impaired driving investigation.

Shortly after 6:00 a.m. on July 1, 2025, officers responded to a report of a taxi stopped in the bullnose area of a highway. The driver appeared to be asleep behind the wheel. Officers made the demand for the driver to provide a breath sample into an Approved Screening Device (ASD). The individual refused to comply.

As a result, Jimesleck THERASSAN, 45 years of age, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand – contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Stopped vehicle on a prohibited part of a highway – contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

Therassan is scheduled to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice, in Ottawa at a later date. As a result of the charges, the individual’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Another Fatality In Lake Huron

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – One individual has died following a drowning incident at Ipperwash Beach in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.

On June 30, 2025, shortly after 4:00 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Anishinabek Police Service, Lambton County Emergency Medical Services, and Lambton Shores Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of two swimmers in distress in Lake Huron near East Parkway Drive.

A 12-year-old from London was safely brought to shore by members of the public and transported to hospital as a precaution.

A second individual was located unresponsive and transported to hospital. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, an 18-year-old from London was pronounced deceased at hospital.

The investigation is continuing.

The Lambton County OPP would like to thank the members of the public who provided assistance prior to the arrival of emergency responders.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the theft of a motorcycle in the Municipality of North Perth.

On June 28, 2025 the Perth County OPP launched an investigation after a receiving information that a motorcycle was stolen from a residential property on Elma St East in the Town of Listowel between 12:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

The motorcycle is described as:

  • Black 2010 Kawasaki Ninja 250cc
  • Red pin striped wheels
  • Grey tinted signal lights
  • Grim reaper decal on the windshield
  • Cracked left fairing
  • Loud aftermarket exhaust

2 More Impaired Drivers Charged

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On June 22nd, 2025 at approximately 12:44 a.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere) program along the off-ramp on Balsam Street, within the City of Thunder Bay.

As a result of the R.I.D.E. program, it was determined that one driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Halie KEOUGH, 22, of the Thunder Bay, Ontario was charged with:

Criminal Code:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);

Highway Traffic Act:

  • Novice driver – B.A.C. (Blood Alcohol Concentration) above zero;

Liquor Licence Act:

  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on August 6th, 2025.

Furthermore, on July 1st, 2025 at approximately 1:23 a.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol & initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle along Highway 11-17, within the City of Thunder Bay.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Herbert McWATCH, 55, of Marathon, Ontario was charged with:

Criminal Code:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;

Highway Traffic Act:

  • Driver without proper headlights – motor vehicle;
  • Fail to signal – lane change;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on August 20th, 2025.

Bus Rollover Sends 25 To Hospital

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious collision on Highway 516 in Sioux Lookout that has left 25 people with minor to possible life-altering injuries.

On Sunday, June 29, 2025, at approximately 6:45 p.m., members of the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the OPP were called to a bus rollover on Highway 516 near Stain Lake. The single-vehicle collision involved a bus with over 30 adult passengers, who were tree-planting in the area this summer. As a result of the incident, 25 people were transported to hospitals for medical treatment. One person is reported to have sustained life-altering injuries at this time.

Northwest Emergency Medical Services, Sioux Lookout Fire Service, Ornge air ambulance, Ministry of Transportation, and OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist assisted Sioux Lookout OPP in the response to the incident.

Colin AMY Arrested Following Collision

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – One individual has been charged with impaired driving following a motor vehicle collision in Burford, Ontario.

On June 30, 2025, at 12:07 a.m., members of Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Rutherford St in the village of Burford in the County of Brant.

As a result of the investigation, Colin AMY, 27-year-old of Brant County, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Brantford on July 17, 2025.

Fishman’s Body Recovered

(APPLETON, ON) – Members of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with the Emergency Response Team (ERT), the Snow Vehicle, All Terrain Vehicle, Vessel Enforcement/Education (SAVE) unit, and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU), responded to a report of a missing fisherman in the Mississippi River in Appleton.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, shortly before 9:00 p.m., officers were dispatched after a 34-year-old male, who had been fishing while standing in the water wearing hip waders, was reported to have gone under the water and not resurfaced. Extensive surface searches were conducted throughout the evening using drones and specialized units.

On the morning of Monday, June 30, 2025, the body of the individual was located and recovered by the USRU.

The OPP thanks the public and emergency partners for their cooperation and assistance.

37 Year Old From Kincardine Arrested – Assault With Weapon

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – Kincardine resident faces four criminal charges in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation. 

On June 27, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old of Kincardine is charged under the Criminal Code with the following:

  • Assault with a weapon – spousal (two counts)
  • Assault – spousal
  • Mischief – domestic

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph at a later date.
