Nicolas FRANCIS – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop.

On June 14, 2025, at 11:52 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while travelling on Richmond Street in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Nicolas FRANCIS, a 25-year-old of Stratford, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 12, 2025.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

Lisa-Marie QUICK Was Arrested

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop.

On June 14, 2025, at 11:56 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) – Highway Safety Division (HSD) while travelling on Mitchell Line in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Lisa-Marie QUICK, a 42-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Resist Peace Officer

·      Fail to signal for turn

·      Drive – hand held communication device

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 14, 2025.

Robert MITCHELL – Impaired Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge as a result of OPP RIDE Program.

On June 12, 2025, at 12:47 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program, on Catherine Street in Thames Centre.

A vehicle entered the program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, Robert MITCHELL, a 62-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on September 10, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Avinash SINGH Was Arrested

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a report of suspicious persons.

On June 6, 2025, at around 12:45 p.m., police responded to a report from Warkworth Institution regarding drone activity in the area. Details were also provided relating to a vehicle being driven in a field off County Road 30 in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

Officers patrolled the area and located the vehicle matching the description provided. The two occupants of the stationary vehicle were taken into custody and evidence relating to the drone was seized.

As a result, Avinash SINGH (21) from North York, has been charged with:

–      Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property.

A 17-year-old male, also from North York, has been charged with:

–      Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property.

The individual shall not be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

Both accused as due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

Shawn TURCOTTE – Drive While Suspended

(THESSALON, ON)- OPP charge known suspended driver.

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol on Lakeside Drive in the Town of Thessalon when they observed a driver known to them as being a suspended and disqualified driver.

A traffic stop was conducted on Dawson Street with the driver being arrested and transported to Thessalon. The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.

Shawn TURCOTTE, 40 years-old who resides in the community of Thessalon First Nation was charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code (five counts)
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on September 4, 2025.

Casey FOURNIER – Assault, Hit & Run

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest person after altercation in grocery store parking lot.

On June 10, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m. the complainant noticed that their vehicle was hit by a vehicle parked next to it. The vehicle owner was spoke to and verbal argument ensued. The vehicle owner then escalated matters when he retrieved a baseball bat from his vehicle and threatened the complainant. They departed prior to police arrival but was later arrested.

Casey FOURNIER, 55-years-old, of Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Failure to stop after accident
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 14, 2025.

Nicholas VALLIQUETTE – Assault

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an assault investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers responded to an incident in Tay Valley Township on Saturday, June 14, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m. after a complaint was received about an individual assaulting multiple people. Prior to police arrival, the individual had fled on foot on Scotch Line Road. A short time later, the male was struck by an on-coming vehicle resulting in non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation resulted in a male being arrested.

Nicholas VALLIQUETTE, 25-years-old from Smith Falls, has been charged with:

·        Assault – two counts

·        Common nuisance

·        Pedestrian on roadway (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Andy OAKLEY Was Arrested

(LANARK HIGHLANDS TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Lanark Highlands Township resident with impaired driving.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 7, in Lanark Highlands Township on Sunday, June 15, 2025, just after 3:00 a.m.

The officers arrested the driver and transported the individual to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Andy OAKLEY, 24-years-old, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, July 21, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Daniel TRIVERS – Drunk Driving

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On Sunday, June 15, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint involving a driver asleep at the wheel of a white car parked on Eldorado Road in Town of Blind River.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the driver slouched over in the driver’s seat with the engine running, positioned on the shoulder of the road just a few feet from the stop sign at Highway 17. After several verbal cues and knocking on the window, the driver eventually woke up. While speaking with the driver, police determined that alcohol had been consumed. A subsequent arrest was made, and the driver was transported to the Blind River detachment for further testing.

Daniel TRIVERS, 28 years-old from Iron Bridge was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 7, 2025. The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for 7days.

7 Impaired Drivers Arrested In 72 Hours

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged seven (7) individuals with impaired related charges in 72 hour span over weekend.

Officers from the Orillia detachment of the OPP work tirelessly to improve the safety of their community and ensure the roads are safe from preventable dangers. Through active patrols, a strong partnership with our community (resulting in numerous public generated traffic complaints) and continued efforts through strategic programs; The Orillia OPP laid twenty-one (21) impaired related charges over this past Father’s Day weekend. This is a staggering and concerning number of charges that took place at all hours throughout the day. Orillia OPP officers worked tirelessly and diligently to keep our streets safe, and their efforts are shown through these incidents.

As a result, Derek HUXLEY; 36-year-old, from Barrie, ON. has been subsequently charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol
  • Dangerous Operation

Rohit PARAJULI; 22-year-old, from North York, ON. has been subsequently charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration above 80

Christopher TINNEY; 48-year-old, from Orillia, ON. has been subsequently charged with:

Justin BEAULIEU; 36-year-old, from Orillia, ON. has been subsequently charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

Jacob Puskas; 24-year-old, from Barrie, ON. has been subsequently charged with:

  • Failure to comply with a release order
  • Escape Lawful Custody
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance

All drivers charged with Impaired driving will have their drivers licence suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for 7 days. The Orillia OPP urges everyone to plan ahead and arrange for a safe ride home. Call a friend or call a cab. Remember that any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.

Niko LEDUC Was Arrested

(MARKSTAY-WARREN, ON) – Police arrested and charged three people after a vehicle failed to stop for police.

On Sunday June 15, 2025, shortly after 9:30 a.m., the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a stolen vehicle from Sudbury that was traveling north on Highway 400.

The vehicle failed to stop from police and continued north on Highway 69.

At approximately 12:25 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, located and arrested two of the involved people walking in Markstay.

The abandon vehicle was later located and members from the OPP K9 Unit, Emergency Response Team and OPP Aviation assisted with the search for the third person, who was located and arrested late that evening.

As a result of the investigation, Niko LEDUC, 20 years-of-age, from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 16, 2024, in Sudbury.

A 16-year-old-person, from Sudbury was charged with, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

While another 16-year-old-person, from Sudbury was charged with, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 and obstruct Peace Officer.

Both Young Offenders were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date in 2025, in Sudbury.

The OPP will not be releasing the names of the Young Offenders under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

Eric WAGENKNECHT – Drive While Suspended, Etc.

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – A traffic-stop results in an impaired driver being arrested and charged with three offences.

On June 14, 2025, at approximately 3:15 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative, which resulted in a traffic stop being conducted on Wellington Road 7 within Elora.

As a result of the investigation, Eric WAGENKNECHT, a 29-year-old of Tavistock is charged under the Criminal Code, and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Driving while under suspension

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on June 27, 2025.

Ethan DIDONE – Drunk Driving

(HARROW, ON)- On June 15, 2025, at 10:43 p.m., members of the Essex Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment responded to a traffic complaint in the Community of Harrow in the Town of Essex.

Officers located the vehicle and upon speaking to the driver, determined that they had consumed alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP detachment.

As a result, Ethan DIDONE, 20-years-of age of Harrow has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to speak to the charges on June 24, 2025.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Aggravated Assault – Jayson PEARCE Arrested

(MIDLAND, ON) – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest in relation to an assault with a weapon investigation that had occurred in the town of Midland over the weekend.

On Friday June 13, 2025, at approximately 11:13 p.m., officers responded to a report of an injured male requiring medical assistance after being assaulted by an individual with an edged weapon at a Yonge Street, Midland motel. Attending officers at approximately 11:18 p.m., located and took over first aid duties from bystanders tending to a male victim outside in the parking lot and after a brief investigation the suspect was located at the scene and arrested.

Uniform OPP investigators at the scene were assisted by members of the Detachment Major Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS).

Charged is Jayson PEARCE 26 years of Midland with the offence of Aggravated Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.

The membership of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment would like to thank the civilians who without hesitation selflessly assisted the 45 year old male victim of Midland who was transported by Simcoe County Paramedics to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the assault and later released.

Investigators would like to advise that they believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety but do remind all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times.

Dan MOCK Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an impaired driving investigation near Teeterville.

At approximately 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025, a Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on Brantford Road, just outside Teeterville.

Following an interaction with the driver, the individual was taken into custody without incident.

52-year-old Dan MOCK from Oxford County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Speeding – 1-49 km/h over posted speed limit.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
