John James COLQUHOUN Was Arrested – Detials Released

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person after calls for service in relation to stolen property.

On August 13, 2025, police were called to a residence on Poplar Road where the complainant reported that a known male entered their garage and stole numerous items sometime over night. Police also executed a search warrant for the male’s rental vehicle and seized additional stolen property and drugs.

John James COLQUHOUN, 66-years-old from Elliot Lake was charged with:

·      Possession or property obtained by crime under $5000 – seven counts

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Heroin

·      Possession of over 30g of dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on August 14, 2025.

Weapon & Drug Bust – BENNS & STEWART

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, members of the Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Central Region Tactical Response Unit (TRU), and Central Region Canine Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), have arrested and charged two individuals following the execution of a search warrant in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On August 14, 2025, shortly after 4:30 a.m., officers executed a search warrant related to a drug investigation at a residence on Beattie Avenue in Alliston. Police located and seized several items, including:

  • One .22 caliber single-shot rifle
  • One .22 caliber rifle
  • Two prohibited switchblades
  • One can of bear spray
  • One can of Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray
  • 45.7 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 51 unknown pills
  • 6,600 unmarked cigarettes
  • Three digital scales
  • One BB gun pistol
  • Two pellet guns/rifles
  • Three bullets in a loaded magazine
  • Two .30-30 caliber bullets
  • Two knives
  • $60.00 in Canadian currency
  • One bottle of BB pellets
  • One cellphone
  • Drug trafficking indicia

As a result of the investigation:

Andrew BENNS, 43 years old, of New Tecumseth, was arrested and charged with:

  • Trafficking in a Schedule I substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm – Two counts
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition – Two counts
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order – Three counts
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon – Two counts
  • Possession of unmarked cigarettes over 1,200

Joline STEWART, 42 years old, of Adjala-Tosorontio Township, was arrested and charged with:

  • Trafficking in a Schedule I substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm – Two counts
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition – Two counts
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon – Two counts
  • Possession of unmarked cigarettes over 1,200

The accused have been held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Gregory Haddock – Impaired Operation

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving related charges against an individual from Ottawa after they struck a police cruiser.

Shortly after 9:00 p.m. on August 13, OPP members were conducting a traffic stop on St. Laurent Boulevard when the rear cruiser was struck by a vehicle. Officers suspected the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. A roadside breath test was conducted and the driver was brought back to Ottawa Detachment for further testing. The driver registered more than twice the legal limit.

As a result, Gregory Haddock, 45 years of age, has been charged with the following:

  • Adult operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Adult operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Driving motor vehicle while liquor readily available
  • Novice driver – B.A.C above zero

Haddock, who is a G2 driver, received an automatic 90-day driving suspension and had his vehicle impounded for seven days. Haddock is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa at a later date.

18 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested – BLACK

 (SOUTH-WEST OXFORD, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment detected an impaired driver while out on general patrol.

On August 12, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of Oxford OPP initiated a traffic stop while on general patrol on Plank Line.

As a result of the investigation, Dylen BLACK, an 18-year-old resident of Tillsonburg, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on September 23, 2025.

No amount of alcohol or drugs is safe to consume prior to operating a vehicle.

Ryan STEEL Arrested Following Hit & Runs

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one driver after multiple collisions were reported on Southwood Road in Gravenhurst.

On August 13, 2025, at 10:20 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to reports of several motor vehicle collisions on Southwood Road in Gravenhurst. After striking several vehicles, the suspect vehicle did not stop and continued driving, fortunately there were no reported injuries.

Officers located the vehicle on Southwood Road near Muskoka Road 169 and subsequently arrested and charged 43-year-old Ryan STEELE of Gravenhurst with Operation while Impaired by Drug, Dangerous Operation and Fail to Remain. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 30, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Another Drug & Weapons Bust – Names Released

(MIDLAND, ON) – As part of an ongoing investigation, two individuals are facing charges following the execution of a search warrant at a Midland residence which resulted in a significant seizure of contraband items related to the drug trade.

On August 13, 2025, officers from the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachments and uniform members, executed a search warrant at an apartment on Hugel Avenue in the Town of Midland with two arrests made at the scene.

Investigators seized a significant amount of property including contraband and proceeds of crime listed below. (see submitted photograph)

  • Significant quantity of cocaine and crack cocaine, purple fentanyl, opioid pills
  • 3- samurai swords
  • Victor 8-shot pistol
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • 2- Stihl concrete construction saws
  • Hunting bow
  • Canadian currency

As a result of this investigation, Shaun BEERMAN, 40 years of Midland, is accused of the following charges contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of an Opioid for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Traffic in Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine

And further offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (2 counts)
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon (2 counts)
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (3 counts)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (2 counts)

.The accused remains in custody awaiting to appear before bail court and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.

Also charged is Heather SUNDAY 35 years of Midland with the following offences contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs

And further offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

The accused was released at the scene and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.

Kimberly COX – Drunk Driving

(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after traffic complaint.

On August 13, 2025, at 12:02 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Elginfield Road in Lucan Biddulph for the report of a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located on Main Street in Lucan, Municipality of Lucan Biddulph, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Kimberly COX, a 36-year-old of St. Marys, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on September 29, 2025.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

Do You Recognize These Thieves?

(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) – On August 2, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an overnight break and enter to a rural business property along Bruce Road 1, Township of Huron-Kinloss.

Police attended the location and found that a storage shed on the property had been entered, and approximately $1000 of food and drink items had been taken. Surveillance camera footage has since been obtained.

Police are looking to identify two individuals who arrived on an All-Terrain Vehicle with an attached small utility trailer. Descriptors for two individuals are as follows:

  • Slim build, tall, wearing light coloured hoodie and light-coloured jacket, skull mask, head lamp, wearing gloves
  • Slim build, shorter height, face partially covered, white zip up hoodie/jacket with hood up, dark coloured jogging pants, backpack, gloves

Shot Fired In Road Rage Incident – Suspect At Large

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON)  Officers of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious road rage incident that occurred on August 13, 2025 between the hours of 11:00 p.m., and 12:14 a.m., in the Town of New Tecumseth and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect vehicle and driver.

At approximately 12:14 a.m. on August 14, 2025, police received a report from a motorist who had been involved in a road rage incident. The victim was travelling westbound on County Road 1 when they observed a white Ford F-150 pickup truck ahead of them swerving and braking erratically.

Upon reaching the intersection of County Road 1 and Adjala-Tecumseth Townline, the victim passed the suspect vehicle, stopped, and briefly confronted the driver. The victim did not obtain a description of the driver or a licence plate number.

The victim continued westbound on County Road 1, but the suspect vehicle quickly reappeared behind them. Both vehicles turned northbound onto County Road 50. As they approached the intersection of County Road 50 and Highway 89, the victim entered the left turning lane while the suspect vehicle entered the right turning lane, positioning itself side-by-side with the victim’s vehicle.

At that moment, the victim heard a loud bang, initially believed to be a rock striking the vehicle. Upon returning home, the victim discovered a bullet hole in the front passenger door. Officers attended the scene and recovered bullet fragments from the door.

The suspect vehicle, described as a white Ford F-150, was last seen heading eastbound on Highway 89 toward Alliston.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam footage from the area between 11:00 p.m. on August 13 and 12:30 a.m. on August 14 to contact the Nottawasaga OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Collision Closed Hwy 21 & Sent 3 To Hospital

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On August 13, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a collision at the intersection of Highway 21 and Bruce Road 20, Municipality of Kincardine.

Police attended with Bruce County Paramedic Services and Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services, where they discovered a collision between two passenger vehicles which were blocking the intersection. 3 parties were transported to a local hospital with injuries. Highway 21 was closed between Bruce Road 20 and Concession 2 for approximately two hours.

A 28-year-old motorist from Toronto has been charged with:

  • Fail to yield to traffic on through highway, HTA 136(1)(b)

2 Charged Following Theft – FAIRHURST & FAIRHURST

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals following a shoplifting investigation at a local business.

On August 13, 2025, shortly after 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at a retail store on Hastings Street North in Bancroft. It was reported that a male suspect stole a cart of merchandise before leaving the store. The suspect allegedly returned a short time later and was confronted by store staff, at which point he fled into a wooded area behind the business.

Officers conducted an area search and later located and arrested two individuals in relation to the incident.

As a result of the investigation:

Wayne FAIRHURST, 50 years old, of Dysart et al., has been charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000 – Shoplifting, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code

Ashley FAIRHURST, 37 years old, of Dysart et al., has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code

Both accused were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on a future date.

Carter Prosser Was Arrested – Details Released

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation while in Woodville for an unrelated event.

On Wednesday August 13, 2025 at approximately 6:27 pm, officers observed the driver of a motor vehicle on Agnes Street and entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was arrested and charged with a Criminal Code offence.

Carter Prosser, 29-year-old of Woodville, was charged with:

  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Allison Murray Arrested Following Hit & Run

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation while investigating a single vehicle collision, fail to remain.

On Wednesday August 13, 2025 at approximately 6:53 pm, officers were notified of a motor vehicle driving through the road closure barricade on Bury’s Green Road which was closed for a fire. Officers located the vehicle and driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver sustained minor injuries from the collision. The driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences.

Allison Murray, 43-year-old of Irondale, was charged with:

  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
  • Careless Driving
  • Fail to Report Accident
  • Fail to Remain

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Aaron OLNEY Facing Numerous Charges

(MARATHON, ON) – A Saskatchewan driver is facing multiple charges following an attempt to flee from police.

On August 4, 2025, at approximately 11:24 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marathon Detachment responded to multiple calls of a driver in a pick-up truck driving erratically and in an unsafe manner eastbound on Highway 17.

OPP officers located and attempted to pull the vehicle over. Near Three Finger Lake, the driver exited the main road and entered into a forested area and onto ATV trails. Shortly after the driver exited the trail and was apprehended.

Aaron OLNEY, aged 40 of Carievale, Saskatchewan has been charged with:

  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Disobey court order
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of Schedule I substance – methamphetamine

The accused was remanded into custody in Thunder Bay following an initial appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon on August 5, 2025, with an additional court appearance expected in the near future.

Drug Bust – KICK & KERR

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been charged following a drug trafficking investigation conducted by members of the Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

At approximately 1:14 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU, with assistance from the West Region OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, executed a search warrant on Thames Street North in Ingersoll, Oxford County, as part of a Norfolk County drug trafficking investigation.

Officers located an individual inside a vehicle on the premises and arrested them without incident. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, MDMA (ecstasy), hydromorphone, and drug-related paraphernalia, and the vehicle was also seized.

At approximately 3:28 p.m. that same day, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Dundas Street in London, Ontario. One individual was arrested without incident, and the search resulted in the seizure of Canadian currency and drug-related paraphernalia.

As a result, 51-year-old Kenneth KERR of London, Ontario, was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin) – two counts,
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Also charged is 41-year-old Shannon KICK of London, Ontario, with the following alleged offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin) – two counts,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused individuals remain in custody and are scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
