(LONDON, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), Elgin-Middlesex CSCU, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), London Police Service Emergency Response Unit (ERU) resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, a firearm, cash, and offence-related property with a total value exceeding $22,700.
An illegal drug investigation was initiated by members of the Huron County OPP in March 2024 in Huron County which led investigators to a suspect in the City of London.
On Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, a search warrant was executed in London which resulted in the seizure of controlled substances, assorted currency, a firearm, ammunition, brass knuckles, and other offence-related items. Two individuals have been arrested and charged.
As a result of the investigation, police seized a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine. Other seized items included a digital scale, packaging material and cellular phones. A quantity of cash was also seized along with stolen vehicle licence plates.
The combined estimated value of the seized drugs is $18,790.
The combined estimated value of the seized property is $2,500.
Total currency seized is $1,470.
Matthew FALCONER, 22 years of age from London has been charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm, .40 cal. handgun,
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm,
- Careless storage of firearm,
- Possession of Methamphetamine,
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking,
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking,
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon, brass knuckles,
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, then later remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled in the London Ontario Court of Justice.
Klarise PARKS, 22 years of age from London has been charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm, .40 cal. handgun,
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm,
- Careless storage of firearm,
- Possession of Methamphetamine,
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking,
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon, brass knuckles,
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
