Arrest In A-C-W: PETTEPLACE

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a London, Ontario resident with impaired driving offences following a traffic stop on September 1st, 2025, in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township. 

Just after 7:15 a.m. on Monday, September 1st, 2025, Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop for a speeding vehicle on Bluewater Highway in ACW Twp. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation.

The accused provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician at the Huron County OPP detachment in Clinton. Breath samples provided to police resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Michael PETTEPLACE, 51 years of age from London, has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – Alcohol and Drug,

–      Impaired Operation – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on October 6th, 2025.

London Stabbing – 22 Year Old Arrested

LONDON, ON (September 18, 2025) – A man was arrested after a stabbing yesterday afternoon.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., police received a call in relation to a stabbing in the 300-block of Simcoe Street.

Officers arrived and located a male with apparent stab wounds. The victim was transported to hospital by paramedic services with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim was able to identify the suspect male, and at approximately 5:20 p.m., he was located and arrested in the area of William Street and King Street.

As a result of the investigation, Owen Bain, 22, of London, has been charged with assault with a weapon.

The accused remains in custody and is expected to appear in London court today in relation to the charges.

Fatal Scooter Collision

LONDON, ON (September 18, 2025) – Members of the London Police Service (LPS) Road Safety Section are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in the east end of the city yesterday afternoon.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at approximately 4:20 p.m., emergency crews responded to a serious collision in the 1400-block of Beckworth Avenue involving a vehicle and a scooter.

The male who was operating the scooter was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and has since succumbed to those injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle remained on scene.

The intersection was temporarily closed as investigators processed the area and collected evidence.

The investigation has now been taken over by the LPS Road Safety Section and remains ongoing.

Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area between 4:10 – 4:25 p.m. and may have witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam, residential, or business surveillance footage, to please contact us.

Pervert Alert: Children Approached – Jakub Bindernagel Arrested

UPDATE – LONDON, ON (September 17, 2025) – Members of the London Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section have identified the suspect in the ongoing sexual assault investigation from earlier this week.

With assistance from the public, the male suspect was identified, located and arrested yesterday, Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

As a result of the investigation, Jakub Bindernagel, 28, of London has been charged with one count of invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in London court today in relation to the charge.

While the girls spoke with the man about the dog, he uttered inappropriate comments about his genitals.

The girls left the area and told their parents. Police were contacted.

A description of the suspect male was provided, and police searched the area with negative results.

The suspect is described as male, White, approximately 5’9” to 6’0”, 30 – 40 years old, medium build with brown hair below the ears. He was wearing shorts and a t-shirt at the time of the reported incident and had a small white dog with him.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have information about this investigation, the suspect, or who may have been in the area between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon and have dash-cam, residential or business video surveillance, to contact the London Police Service.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision

LONDON, ON (September 16, 2025) – Members of the London Police Service Road Safety Section continue to investigate the serious motor vehicle collision from last month.

The driver of the motorcycle, Steven Douglas Smith, 49, of London has succumbed to his injuries while in hospital.

Investigators continue to ask anyone who was in the area of Brydges Street, east of Egerton Street, on Friday, August 15, 2025, between 1:40 – 2 p.m. who may have witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam, residential, or business surveillance footage, to please contact us.

London Police Send One To Hospital

LONDON, ON (September 15, 2025) – At approximately 2:10 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, a member of the London Police Service learned that a male he was speaking with in the area of Brough Avenue and University Crescent was wanted in relation to a number of outstanding warrants.

When the officer advised the suspect male that he was under arrest, he fled on foot and resisted police.

A Conducted Energy Weapon was deployed, and the male was arrested and transported to the London Police Service Headquarters Detention Center.

The male later advised LPS members that he sustained an injury as a result of the interaction.

The male was transported to hospital by paramedic services.

The male has since been released from the hospital.

The male is facing charges as a result of the investigation.

Shirzad AJIR – Sexual Assault

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Individual charged after sex assault investigation in Middlesex Centre.

On August 19, 2025, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address in Middlesex Centre for the report of a sex assault.

The Middlesex County OPP Crime Unit assisted with the investigation.

The victim and accused were known to each other.

As a result, Shirzad AJIR a 47-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Sexual Exploitation

·      Sexual Assault

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on November 3, 2025.

It is suspected there may be more victims.

Leibniz HARRERA CHAVEZ – Drunk Driving

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a London resident with a criminal driving offence following a traffic stop in the Municipality of Bluewater on August 16th, 2025. 

Just after 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were checking driver sobriety at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint and conducted a traffic stop on Dashwood Main Street in Bluewater. Police spoke to the vehicle driver and discovered that they had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Lambton OPP detachment in Grand Bend where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Leibniz HARRERA CHAVEZ, 38 years-of-age from London has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days, and the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 15, 2025.

Leighton PARKER – Was Arrested

(SOUTH-WEST OXFORD, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment detected an impaired driver while on general patrol.

On September 10, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of Oxford OPP initiated a traffic stop while on general patrol on Pressey Road in the Township of South-West Oxford.

As a result of the investigation, Leighton PARKER, a 36-year-old resident of London, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Drive While Under Suspension
  • Novice Driver BAC above 0

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on October 21, 2025.

Police want to remind the public that no amount of alcohol or drugs is safe to consume prior to operating a vehicle.

Tabitha COOPER Was Arrested

(LONDON, ON) – Traffic stop results in drug trafficking charge for driver.

On September 8, 2025, at 2:27 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on Veterans Memorial Parkway in the City of London, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

Investigation revealed the driver was suspended.

The driver was placed under arrest, at which time a quantity of illicit drugs, suspected to be fentanyl, was located and seized.

As a result, Tabitha COOPER, a 33-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

·      Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice (Identity fraud)

·      Poss of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)

The accused was held for bail.

Augustine GAYFLOR – Drug Trafficking, Etc.

(LONDON, ON) – Traffic stop results in drug trafficking charges for driver.

On August 29, 2025, at 11:45 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on Highway 401 at Highbury Avenue in the City of London, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

Investigation revealed the driver was suspended.

The driver was placed under arrest, at which time a quantity of illicit drugs, was located and seized.

As a result, Augustine GAYFLOR, a 35-year-old of North Dumfries, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with

·      Poss of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Methamphetamine

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 17, 2025.

Fares BA SAAD – Impaired Operation

(LONDON, ON) – Driver charged with impaired by drug as a result of OPP RIDE Program.

On July 5, 2025, at 3:10 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Highway 401 at Wellington Road in the City of London.  

A vehicle entered the RIDE program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, Fares BA SAAD, a 27-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Cannabis Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on August 18, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Homicide In Strathroy

(LONDON, ON) – The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service (SCPS), with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Sarnia Police Service, is investigating a homicide that occurred in Strathroy on Friday afternoon.

On Friday, June 27, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., SCPS responded to a medical emergency on Ashby Crescent. Upon police arrival, officers located an individual with apparent stab wounds outside of a residence.

Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, Endy MONIZ, 27 years old of Strathroy, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, Joel PERALTA DEL VALLE, 27 years old of Strathroy, is charged with first degree murder, contrary to section 235 (1) of the Criminal Code.

The accused remains in police custody.

There is no threat to public safety.

The investigation remains ongoing by the SCPS under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
