With the heavy traffic and construction on our roadways these days, driving can be frustrating and stressful. It’s important to stay calm and stay in control of our emotions.

Here are some tips to help you avoid succumbing to aggressive behaviors.

Give yourself time to get where you’re going, plan for and prepare for possible delays.

If you’re having a difficult or stressful day and feel angry and upset, don’t drive until you’ve had a chance to calm down.

Avoid speeding, weaving through traffic, cutting other drivers off and avoid making rude gestures or remarks.

If you made a mistake, try to apologize, possibly with a wave.

Call 911 immediately if you feel threatened or in fear for your safety.
