(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment working with our Community Partners recognize there will be a large influx of visitors to the area on Friday, June 13, 2014.

To ensure the orderly flow of traffic and pedestrians, it is necessary to redirect traffic. St. George St., will become a one way street for south bound traffic only. St. Andrew St., will become a one way street for north bound traffic only. Main St. will be closed to through traffic.

Nelson Street from Main Street to St. Patrick Street will be closed. Nelson Street to St. George Street will be closed. Nelson Street (Radical Road) to Blueline Road will be west bound traffic only. St. Patrick Street will be closed from Chapman Street to Bridge Street. Clinton Street will be closed to St. Andrew’s Street to St. Patrick Street. Union Street at Prospect Street will be closed to through traffic.

Traffic barriers will be placed on Main St, St. George St., and St. Andrews St. from Walker St., to Nelson St. Barricades will be erected at a time as designated by the Incident Commander in response to traffic volume.

No parking will be permitted on the east side of St. Andrew St., or on the west side of St. George St., Port Dover for the entire day. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

There will be a highly visible Police presence to ensure the safety of those in attendance and assist with traffic related issues. Media outlets will be advised of any significant changes.

(PICKLE LAKE, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Tactical and Rescue Unit (TRU) as well as members of the North West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the North West Region Crime Unit along with Pickle Lake Detachment members have arrested and charged one male after the execution of a warrant at a residence on Lakeview Crescent in Pickle Lake the morning of June 9, 2014.

As a result of the investigation, Cory FOX, a 22-year-old male from Pickle Lake has been charged with two counts of Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code:

The accused has been held in custody and will appear in Sioux Lookout Court on June 9, 2014.

The investigation is continuing.

(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On June 8th, 2014 at approximately 4:00 a.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, Clearview Fire Department and Simcoe County Paramedic Service responded to a single motor vehicle collision on King Street in the Town of Stayner.

An initial investigation by OPP revealed that a motor vehicle operate by a 20 year old female that was travelling in the northbound lanes, crossed into the southbound lanes then onto the west shoulder striking a metal pole shearing it into two then striking a telephone pole breaking that also.

A further investigation into the driver of this vehicle motor revealed that she was operating it while under the influence of alcohol.

Charged with “Impaired operation” and “Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample” is Diana V. GOSTICK 20 years old from Collingwood. First appearance is June 24th, 2014 in Collingwood court.

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a Break and Enter at a Highway 3, Woodhouse, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Saturday, June 7, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the Simcoe Gospel Chapel and gained entry. Once inside, unknowns proceeded to damage various areas of the church and write obscenities on the walls.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment Crime Unit continues to investigate a fail to remain, fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Cockshutt Rd. (former Woodhouse Twp), Norfolk County, Ontario.

On Saturday, May 14, 2011 at approximately 5:17 a.m., 20-year-old Chad EVERETS, of Port Hope, Ontario, was struck by an unknown vehicle on Cockshutt Road. The unknown vehicle never stopped and left the scene.

The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is reminding the public of this investigation and if anyone has any information to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male after police were called to investigate an incident at a Walker Street, Port Dover, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, June 6, 2014 at approximately 3:20 p.m., police were contacted by a concerned citizen after observing a suspicious male walking up and down Walker Street exposing himself.

The male is being described as white, mid 30’s, dark coloured hair, thin dark coloured handlebar moustache, wearing tight grey shorts, blue short sleeved shirt with a Nike symbol on the chest, blue baseball cap and mirrored sunglasses.

Investigation determined that the male held a black coloured back pack in front of his body and when he would pass unsuspecting females, the male would expose his genitals.

The male was then observed to enter the public restroom and upon exiting was wearing different clothing after he realized that the concerned citizen was contacting police. The male was described as wearing baggy khaki cargo shorts, blue short sleeved shirt and was carrying the backpack on his shoulder.

The male was last seen walking on Walker Street towards the Port Dover Bridge.

(CALEDON, ON) – On June 5, 2014 shortly before noon, an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement in the area of the 410 overpass and Kennedy Road. The officer observed the driver of a black Suzuki GX7 travelling northbound at a high rate of speed and determined the speed at 152 km/hr. in an 80 km/hr. zone.

As a result, Clinton G. KRUCHKA, 31, from St. Catharines was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days as a result of the stunt driving charge.

The driver is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Caledon on July 28, 2014.

Police remind motorists that an essential part of the enforcement job is to save lives and reduce injuries on our roadways. Educating the public about safe driving practices is a priority.

(CALEDON, ON)- On June 6, 2014, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a Hilltop Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. Sometime on June 5th between 5 pm and midnight, suspect(s) entered the residence through an unlocked door. The suspect(s) stole a Hewlett Packard laptop and an Apple Mac Pro laptop.

Police are reminding residents to contact the OPP Communications Centre immediately at 1-888-310-1122 to report any suspicious activity or suspicious vehicles in the area. Information such as suspect physical descriptions, suspect vehicles and direction of travel are useful tools for investigators.

(NEMI Township, ON) – On Sunday June 08, 2014 at 7:10 pm Manitoulin OPP responded to a vehicle rollover which occurred on the Greenbush Road in Northeastern Manitoulin and The Islands Township. Witness report advised that five people were in a 2007 Black Buick vehicle when it left the road and flipped over. All five exited the vehicle and left the scene in another passing vehicle. That vehicle was intercepted by police. The driver was identified and as a result of the investigation the driver has been charged with numerous offences.

Charged with Failing to Remain at the Scene, Failing to Report, Failing to Give Required Information, Fail to Report Property Damage and Careless Driving all under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario is Howard MacPHERSON age 51 of Andeck Onmi Kanning First Nation.

(Gordon Township, ON) – On Sunday June 08, 2014 at 8:16 am Manitoulin OPP officers were called to a residence in Gordon Township. The owner returned to his property to advise that two 4 wheel ATV’s had been stolen and a tractor had been tampered with. As a result of this investigation police were able to recover the ATV’s and a male was arrested in relation to these thefts.

Charged with three counts of Theft over $5000 is Marc Armand LARABEE age 21 of West Nipissing, Ontario. He was released from custody and will be appearing in Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay to answer to the said charges.

(Little Current, ON) – On Friday June 06 2014 at 4:17 pm an altercation took place between two employees at local business located in Little Current. Members of the OPP were called and as a result of an investigation an employee was charged with offences.

Charged with Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats is Ronald KILGOUR age 53 of Assiginack Township. He was released from custody and will be appearing in Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay to answer to the said charges.

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On June 6, 2014 at approximately 11:10 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Street Crime Unit (SCU) were monitoring a property on Highway 6, north of the City Limits in Guelph/Eramosa Township. Officers observed a male party leave that location on a bicycle and observed him a short time later in a parking lot of a business, in the City of Guelph, involved in what officers believed to be a drug deal with another male.

Officers arrested the two males and subsequently seized a quantity of methamphetamine, marihuana and cash.

Jonathon BARBER aged 38 of no fixed address has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and was held for a Bail Hearing.

Christian KASTOR aged 34 of Guelph has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on July 22, 2014 to answer to the charge.
