Child Play With Toy Gun At Home Triggers Lockdown

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a concern about a weapon at an address near Bay Street in Gravenhurst.

On January 28, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report from a member of the public on Bay Street in Gravenhurst that they believed a person had pointed a firearm at the street from an apartment near Bay Street and Muskoka Road South.

In the interest of public safety, police closed the nearby roads and conducted an investigation into the matter. The involved individual was determined to be a youth and was playing with an imitation firearm. The youth and their family were co-operative and reflective and the area was soon re-opened to traffic and cleared.

Bracebridge OPP appreciates the patience and co-operation from all members of the community.

Arson – Pierre MATTE Arrested

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) – An arson investigation leads to charges against one person.

On Sunday October 5, 2026, the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to a structure fire in Virginiatown where a residence was engulfed in smoke and flames. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

As a result of the investigation, Pierre MATTE, a 58-year-old of Virginiatown has been arrested and charged with arson – damage to property.

The accused was remanded into custody and is to next appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice January 30, 2026.

Kenneth ROBINSON – Drunk Driving

(SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged both the driver and passenger after a traffic stop.

On Wednesday January 21, 2026, at approximately 11:25 p.m., members from the Sudbury Traffic Incident Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team of the OPP, conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Highway 17, Sudbury.

The driver, who was also a suspended driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, the driver Kenneth ROBINSON, 53 years-of-age, from Capreol was charged with,

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 3, 2026, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The 54-year-old passenger from Capreol, who was the owner of the vehicle was issued a Provincial Offence, with a charged of, permit unlicenced person to drive motor vehicle.

Colin WILLIAMS & Jeremy WALKER – Impaired Driving

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two local residents with impaired operation-related charges following separate calls for service in Dufferin County.

On January 22, 2026, at approximately 4:18 p.m., Dufferin OPP received a complaint regarding a possible impaired driver who was in the ditch in the area of 30 Sideroad in the Town of Mono. Officers later located the individual on Station Street in the Township of Amaranth, conducted a traffic stop, and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Colin WILLIAMS, a 39-year-old male from Mono, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

On January 24, 2026, just before 10:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check in the area of Centennial Road in the Town of Orangeville. A vehicle entered the checkpoint and, following a brief interaction with officers, an impaired driving investigation was initiated.

Jeremy WALKER, a 26-year-old male from Orangeville, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driver – fail to properly wear seatbelt

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Isabelle LEFEBVRE Was Arrested

(BECKWITH TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Gloucester resident with impaired driving.

On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Lanark County OPP officers, while on patrol on Cavanaugh Road in Beckwith Township, located a vehicle in the ditch just before 9:15 p.m. After

speaking with the female, the driver was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Isabelle LEFEBVRE, 33-years-old, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Obstruct a peace officer

·        Failure or refusal to comply with breath demand

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, February 23, 2026.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

65 Year Old Arrested Following Failed Bribery Attempt

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – A Puslinch driver is charged following a collision.

On January 27, 2026, at approximately 6:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a single-vehicle collision in a ditch on Brock Road in Puslinch Township. Officers suspected the driver to be impaired. The driver refused to comply with a demand for a breath sample into an approved alcohol screening device and subsequently attempted to bribe an officer.

As a result of the investigation, Frederick BLOW, a 65-year-old from Puslinch, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Bribery of officers
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on April 21, 2026.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – A Wardsville resident has been charged after reports of a disturbance.

On January 26, 2026, at 11:26 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on Longwoods Road in Wardsville, Municipality of Southwest Middlesex, for the report of a disturbance. 

Investigation revealed an individual had been assaulted during the altercation.

As a result, Douglas SWANSON, a 69-year-old of Wardsville, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Assault

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in London on March 12, 2026, to speak to the charge. 

There were no injuries reported.

22 Year Old From Morris-Turnberry Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – On Wednesday, January 07, 2026, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault in the Town of Goderich.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed an assault on a staff member at the Goderich Hospital.

The suspect was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code.

Caleb HOLTZHAUER, 22 years-of-age from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with:

–      Assault.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 23, 2026.

Shawn Mellon – Drunk Driving, Etc.

(INGERSOLL, ON) – An individual from Quebec is facing multiple charges after police observed a vehicle travelling without it’s lights on. 

On January 26, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 401, near the Town of Ingersoll, when officers observed a vehicle travelling without any of its light’s activated.

Officers stopped the vehicle where further investigation revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen. The driver of the vehicle was also found to be impaired by alcohol.

Shawn Mellon, 35-years-old, of Victoriaville, Quebec, has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous Operation

·      Possession Property obtained by Crime over $5,000 – in Canada

·      Have care or control of a vehicle or boat with Cannabis readily available

·      Have care or control of a vehicle or boat with open container of liquor

·      Drive without proper real light – motor vehicle

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) was initiated as per statute.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and has since been released from custody. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on February 17, 2026.

Matthew ARMSTRONG Was Arrested Again! #3Strikes


(HURON EAST, ON) – 
The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Bluewater resident following an incident in the Town of Seaforth, Municipality of Huron East on January 06, 2026.

On Tuesday, January 06, 2026, just before 8:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers were contacted about a suspicious vehicle in Huron East. Police located a pickup truck in Seaforth, which was parked with a snowmobile in the box of the truck. The snowmobile was reported stolen in 2025. The suspect was located nearby, taken into custody, and charged as follows:

Matthew ARMSTRONG, 44 years-of-age of Bluewater was charged with:

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation – (two counts),

–      Fraud Over $5,000,

–      Public Mischief,

–      Fail to Comply with Release Order – (two counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody. The accused has a future court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Bryan LOWE – Drunk Driving

(BRANT, ON) – A driver is facing Impaired charges following a motor vehicle collision.

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, at approximately 11:42 pm, Brant County OPP were driving on patrol when the OPP officer noticed a motor vehicle in a ditch, on Pleasant Ridge Road near Ellis Avenue. The driver refused the officers breath demand into an approved alcohol screening device. 

Police charged 43-years-old, Bryan LOWE of Waterford with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on February 5th, 2026, in Brantford.

The OPP continues to prioritize road safety through proactive enforcement and public education. Impaired driving-whether by alcohol or drugs-remains one of the leading causes of serious collisions and fatalities on Ontario roadways.

Mandeep SINGH – Drunk Driving

(COCHRANE, ON) – The James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a commercial driver following an impaired driving investigation that began during a proactive traffic stop on Highway 11.

On January 26, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., James Bay OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on a commercial motor vehicle parked beside a posted “No Parking” sign in the westbound lane of Highway 11 West. While speaking with the driver, officers observed an open can of alcoholic beverage in the cup holder, along with several unopened cans of alcohol within reach.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Cochrane OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Mandeep SINGH, 28 years of age, of Shelburne, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

·        Having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of alcohol

·        Disobey sign

·        Interfere with traffic

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 10, 2026, in Cochrane. The driver was issued a 90‑day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the tractor unit was impounded for seven days.

(BROCKTON, ON) – On January 25, 2026, at approximately 3:58 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a vehicle was stopped in a live lane of traffic along Concession 14, Municipality of Brockton.

Police attended and located the vehicle, still in the live lane of traffic. The investigating officer spoke with the driver and detected signs of impairment. The driver was taken into custody and transported for further testing.

John RATH, 34-years-old, of Arran-Elderslie, was charged with:

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on March 4, 2026, to answer to the charge.

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – A driver is facing charges following a two-vehicle collision in Haldimand County.

On January 24, 2026, at approximately 5:50 p.m., members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Argyle Street and Caithness Street, Caledonia.

The investigation determined that a pick-up truck and a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) collided at that intersection. No injuries were reported.

Heidi BRETHOUR Was Arrested Again! #3Strikes

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one person and laid multiple charges after a breach of probation.

On Sunday, January 25, 2026, an individual suspected of breaching release conditions, was spotted in the Town of Bancroft. They were arrested and a search resulted in the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl.

As a result, Heidi BRETHOUR, 45, of Bancroft has been charged with the following:

·        Fail to Comply with a probation order – 3 counts

·        Fail to comply with a release order – 5 counts

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on January 27, 2026.
