Amandeep-Singh PADDA Charged With Theft

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Brampton resident with theft-related offences following an investigation.

On June 5, 2025, shortly after 11:00 p.m., officers from the Dufferin OPP were dispatched to a reported theft at a retail store located at 95 First Street in the Town of Orangeville. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a male suspect had entered the store on May 28, 2025, and stolen approximately $600 worth of butter before fleeing through a fire exit.

The same individual returned to the store on June 5, where he was recognized and apprehended by loss prevention officers. Dufferin OPP officers attended the scene and took over the investigation.

Amandeep-Singh PADDA, a 31-year-old male, from Brampton has been charged with:

•      Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

Joshua STEINBERG Arrested Following Collision

(LAKESHORE, ON)- On June 11, 2025, at 6:35 a.m., members of the Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to Gracey Side Road near Lakeshore Road 301 in the Municipality of Lakeshore for report of a single vehicle collision.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP detachment.

As a result, Joshua STEINBERG, 47-years-of age \of Lakeshore has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to speak to the charges on July 27, 2025.

There were no injuries reported.

Fatal E-Scooter Collision

(Pickering, ON) – Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) – Whitby Detachment, are investigating a motor vehicle collision that resulted in one fatality.

On Wednesday June 4, 2025, at 4:41 p.m., the Whitby OPP were called to a collision on Highway 401 westbound onramp from southbound Liverpool Rd, in the City of Pickering. The collision involved a red SUV and a E-scooter that was crossing the onramp lane.

The E-Scooter rider a 21-year-old from Pickering, was transported to Toronto area Trauma Centre with serious injuries.

The drive of the red SUV remained on scene, and no other injuries are reported.

On June 9, 2025, the 21-year-old E-Scooter rider succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Liverpool Rd, southbound onramp to Highway 401 west, was closed for the investigation.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit is assisting with the ongoing investigation.

The Whitby OPP is continuing to investigate this collision and is requesting anyone who witnessed the collision, has dash camera footage, or has any information regarding the collision to contact the Whitby OPP at 905-668-3388.

Jessica RANEY Arrested For Drunk Driving

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Orangeville resident with impaired driving-related offences following a traffic stop.

On May 31, 2025, shortly after 1:10 a.m., officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a traffic violation on Clara Street in the Town of Orangeville. A traffic stop was conducted, and upon speaking with the female driver, officers observed signs of impairment and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Jessica RANEY, a 32-year-old female, from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•     Disobey stop sign – fail to stop

•     Possess more than one licence

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

School Bus Collision – 73 Year Old Charged

(LAMBTON COUNTY, ON) – Lambton County OPP investigating a two-vehicle collision involving a school bus and a motorcycle.

On June 10, 2025, at 3:07 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Lambton EMS were dispatched to Oil Heritage Road at Lasalle Line in Enniskillen Township, for the report of a two-vehicle collision between a school bus and a motorcycle.

The school bus had children on it; however, no children were injured, and there were no injuries reported to either driver.

The driver of the school bus, a 73-year-old of Petrolia, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Proceed contrary to sign at intersection.

George PANTON Was Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Brantford resident with impaired driving-related offences following a traffic complaint.

On June 10, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers received a traffic complaint in the area of Airport Road in the Township of Mulmur. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the male driver, officers observed signs of impairment and began an impaired driving investigation.

George PANTON, a 45-year-old male, from Brantford has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•      Drive – hand held communication device

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(PETERBOROUGH COUNTY, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged four individuals with impaired in less than a week.

On June 6, 2025, at approximately 10:30pm, Peterborough County OPP officers were conducting R.I.D.E. on County Road 4 in Douro-Dummer Township. Officers spoke with the driver of a vehicle that had entered the R.I.D.E. and determined them to be under the influence of alcohol. While speaking with the driver, the officer noted an open container of alcohol. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for further testing.

Eddie WILLIAMS-WATSON (age 35) of Curve Lake, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 15, 2025.

On June 8, 2025, just prior to 2:30am, Peterborough County OPP officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint where an individual was believed to be impaired when leaving a residence. Officers were able to locate the vehicle on Highway 7 in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township, and upon speaking with the driver, determined them to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for further testing.

Mandy ALLESTON (age 43) of Peterborough, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 22, 2025.

On Tuesday June 10, 2025, just after 3:00pm, Peterborough County OPP officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Highway 28 in Douro-Dummer Township. The complainant advised that the vehicle appeared to be having difficulties maintaining it’s lane. Officers patrolled the area and located the vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. Officers determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol and at that point, the driver was arrested.

Jonathan MAIKA (age 31) of Pembroke, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 15, 2025.

On Tuesday June 10, 2025, just prior to 9:30pm, a Peterborough County OPP officer was patrolling on Highway 7 in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township when they received an alert on their Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system regarding a vehicle that had passed in the opposite direction. The officer conducted a traffic stop to speak with the driver about the issue related to the licence plate. During the conversation, the officer determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol and an arrest was made. The driver was transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for further testing.

Jody NICHOLAS (age 38) of Norwood, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Use plate not authorized for vehicle

·      Fail to surrender insurance card

·      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused had their driver’s licence further suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 8, 2025.

Repeat Offender Matthew PRITCHARD Arrested Again

(GODERICH, ON) – An arrest has been made in relation to two separate break & enters that occurred in the Township of Huron-Kinloss and the Municipality of South Huron.

On February 14, 2025, the Huron County OPP received a report of a break & enter to a construction site along B Line outside of Grand Bend, where a quantity of appliances and equipment was stolen.

On March 17, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break & enter to a series of storage units at an event grounds property along Walter Street in Lucknow, where a quantity of electrical equipment was stolen.

Through an investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant at a storage facility in Goderich on June 10, 2025, and recovered stolen items from the aforementioned break-ins.

As a result of the investigation, Matthew PRITCHARD, 40-years-old of the Township of Huron-Kinloss has been charged with:

  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence, CC 348(1)(b)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime, CC 354(1)(a) – four counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

All seized property has been returned to the rightful owners.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision – One Charged

(SOUTH STORMONT TWP, ON) – The driver of a car, involved in a fatal collision with a motorcycle last fall, northwest of Winchester, is facing charges.

The crash, involving a car and motorcycle, happened on Friday, September 13, 2024, shortly after 6:00 a.m., on Bank Street/County Road 31 near Cloverdale Road. Both vehicles were northbound at the time.

The motorcycle rider, a 31-year-old man from Winchester, was transported to a local hospital and then transported by Air ORNGE to a regional trauma centre. The victim was pronounced deceased in hospital shortly before 6:00 p.m. that evening. The driver of the car was not physically injured.

As a result of the investigation, Michel DENAULT-CHARTRAND, age 35 of Brinston, has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.

The accused is currently standing trial on the charge.

Echo PELLETIER – Impaired Driving

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- Unwanted person located in parked vehicle and charged with impaired driving.

On Monday June 9, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of unwanted persons on Wellington Street in the Town of Blind River.

Upon arrival, officers located a blue pickup truck with two individuals inside. While speaking with the driver, officers observed a cannabis vaporizer on the floor of the vehicle and determined that the driver was impaired by an intoxicating substance. A subsequent arrest was made, and the driver was transported to Blind River detachment for further testing.

Echo PELLETIER, 42 years-of-age from Blind River was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drug
  • Fail to attend for court – as per undertaking

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 7, 2025. The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension.

23 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(THESSALON, ON)- East Algoma OPP lays 21st impaired charge in 2025.

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting patrols in the Town of Thessalon when they observed a black pickup truck travelling westbound at a high rate of speed on Lakeside Drive.

A traffic stop was conducted on Highway 17 near Lakeside Drive. During the interaction with the driver, police determined that alcohol had been consumed. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to the Thessalon detachment for further testing.

Gabriel MERRYLEES, 23 years-of-age from Echo Bay was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80) plus

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 7, 2025.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for 7days.

Infant Dead – 2 Charged With Manslaughter

(WAWA, ON) -Police have arrested and charged two individuals in relation to an infant death that occurred one and a half years ago.

On Saturday, December 2, 2023, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to a hospital in Wawa where an infant was brought in by family members with no vital signs.

A thorough investigation was conducted by the Sault Ste. Marie and Superior East OPP Crime Units, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services and the OPP Regional Support Team, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

As a result of the investigation, Steffani OLIVER, 28 years old of Sault Ste. Marie, and Amanda TAYLOR, 31 years old of Goulais River, were arrested and each charged with Manslaughter, contrary to section 236(b) of the Criminal Code.

Both accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Assault & Threats – Christopher CHURCH Arrested

(PORTLAND, ON) – An individual is facing multiple charges after a heated dispute involving threats and an assault, as well as further incidents at a local hospital.

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, shortly after 8:00 p.m., members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance in Portland. An officer was required to deploy their Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW, commonly referred to as a Taser) to arrest an individual at the scene. The individual was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

While at the hospital, further threats were made against medical staff.

As a result of the investigation, 45-year-old Christopher CHURCH of Portland is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Mischief – destroy or damage property
  • Mischief – obstruct, interrupt or interfere
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Brockville Ontario Court of Justice on June 27, 2025.

75 Year Old From Parkhill Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after two-vehicle collision in North Middlesex.

On June 7, 2025, at 7:14 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex London Paramedic Service and North Middlesex Fire were dispatched the intersection of Centre Road and Nairn Road in North Middlesex for report of a serious two-vehicle collision between a passenger vehicle and a pickup truck.

Four individuals from the passenger vehicle were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where they were placed under arrest.

As a result, Mary GLANVILLE, a 75-year-old of Parkhill has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Dangerous operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 22, 2025.

Fatal Collision

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – A two vehicle crash has claimed the life of one person and has sent two others to hospital with injuries.

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at approximately 3:33 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment, Haldimand County Fire Department and Haldimand County EMS responded to a collision at Argyle Street South near Highway 6 in Caledonia.

It has been determined that a motor vehicle and sports utility vehicle collided on Argyle Street South, east of Highway 6. The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased. A passenger in vehicle was transported to hospital to be treated for serious life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV was also transported to hospital to be treated for serious non-life-threatening injuries.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was travelling on Argyle Street South, East of Highway 6 and witnessed the collision – or has any relevant information – to contact the Haldimand County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
