Daanis NIGANABE – Drunk Driving

(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON)- Impaired driving charges laid following single motor vehicle collision in the Town of Iron Bridge.

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at approximately 5:30 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the south side ditch of Chiblow Lake Road.

The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Blind River OPP Detachment for further processing.

As a result of the investigation, Daanis NIGANABE, 29 years old from Mississauga First Nation, was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Thursday, October 2, 2025. The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The OPP continues to encourage the public to report motorists suspected of driving impaired by calling 9-1-1 or contacting the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Jeremiah ASSINEWAI Facing Numerous Charges

(ESPANOLA , ON) – A driver is facing impaired-related charges after police received a traffic complaint.

On Saturday, August 2, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint on Highway 6 in Espanola. Police later located the vehicle driving 114 km/hr in a 60 km/hr community safety zone. A traffic stop was conducted, and upon approaching the driver, officers noticed open alcohol within the vehicle. Further investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired operation.

The driver, Jeremiah ASSINEWAI, 24-years-old from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available – two counts
  • Drive motor vehicle, perform stunt, excessive speed (community safety zone) – two counts
  • Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor – two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on September 22, 2025.

Tarmara CHAMBERS – Drunk Driving

(CARLETON PLACE, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Mississippi Mills Township resident with impaired driving.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 7, in Carleton Place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, just before 5:00 p.m. after receiving a complaint of a possible impaired driver.

The officers arrested the driver and transported the individual to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Tarmara CHAMBERS, 58-years-old, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Drive motor vehicle with open container of alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, September 8, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jay NADEAU – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after vehicle leaves roadway and enters ditch.

On August 4, 2025, at 3:01 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex London Paramedic Service and Middlesex Centre Fire were dispatched to Bodkin Road in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, for the report of a vehicle that left the roadway and entered the ditch.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Jay NADEAU, a 47-year-old of Komoka has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on September 24, 2025.

Dustin AMOS Was Arrested Again

(CARLETON PLACE, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a disturbance in Carleton Place.

Lanark County OPP officers responded to an incident on Friday, August 1, 2025, just after 6:30 a.m., after a complaint about an individual punching windows at a local business. The male was located and arrested by officers.

As a result of the investigation Dustin AMOS, 27-years-old from Carleton Place, has been charged with:

·        Causing a disturbance

·        Possession of Schedule 1 substance – methamphetamine

·        Fail to comply with probation – three counts

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, September 8, 2025.

2 Dead Following Collision

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 in Gravenhurst on August 5, 2025.

On August 5, 2025 at 6:45 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers along with Muskoka EMS and Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to 9-1-1 calls from members of the public about a two vehicle collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 near Narrows Road in Gravenhurst. Officers attended and due to the position of the vehicles and nature of the injuries, closed Muskoka Road 169 to traffic in that area.

The driver of one of the involved vehicles, a 50-year-old Gravenhurst man, was transported to hospital, however life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and he succumbed to his injuries. The second vehicle had two occupants; the driver was taken to hospital, where he was further transported by air to a Toronto hospital with life-altering injuries. The second occupant, a 61-year-old Muskoka Lakes Township man, was pronounced deceased at the collision scene.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Justin LEROY – Break & Enter, Theft

(MONTAGUE TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a break and enter investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers responded to an incident in Montague Township on Friday, August 1, 2025, just before 3:00 a.m. after a complaint was received about an individual with a flashlight at the rear of a property. The male fled prior to police arriving however the individual was located and arrested nearby with the assistance of the OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team members.

As a result of the investigation Justin LEROY, 48-years-old from Ottawa, has been charged with:

·        Break and enter

·        Theft under $5000

·        Trespassing at night

The accused was held for a bail hearing and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Arrests After Weapons Incident – BEDARD, AGUERO SALAS & AGUERO SALAS

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – Three individuals are facing charges following a disturbance at a community event.

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a disturbance at a recreational centre in Little Current. The report indicated that there were several individuals involved in a physical altercation with weapons involved. Additionally, one individual was seen assaulting a security guard.

Police arrived shortly after and arrested the three individuals. No injuries were reported.

Additionally, police seized a conducted energy weapon (taser), a knife and pepper spray.

As a result, Alexis BEDARD, 21-years-old from Sheguiandah, was charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Assault with a weapon

Mauricio AGUERO SALAS, 29-years-old from Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands Township, was charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Assault

Mariela AGUERO SALAS, 36-years-old from North York, was charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon – two counts

The three accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on September 23, 2025.

Ayden RIOUX – Drunk Driving

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after traffic stop.

On August 3, 2025, at 1:02 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on Longwoods Road in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex, observed a suspicious vehicle, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Ayden RIOUX, a 20-year-old of Chatham, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 28, 2025.

Hoshane ALLEN Was Arrested Again

(SEGUIN, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with multiple offences.

On July 30, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m. members of the West Parry Sound OPP Detachment stopped a vehicle on Highway 400 as the driver was wanted by another police service.  

Further investigation revealed the passenger in the vehicle was in possession of pipe bomb making material. Items seized as pipe bomb making material were turned over to the OPP Explosives Disposal Unit (EDU).

Hoshane ALLEN, 33-years-of-age of Scarborough was arrested and charged with:

  • Explosives – making or possessing for unlawful purpose
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

The accused was held for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound and is scheduled to appear on August 6, 2025.

40 Year Old From Crediton Arrested

(BRANT, ON) – On August 5, 2025, at approximately 6:14 p.m., members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Main Street South in St. George.

As a result of the investigation, one individual was taken into custody.

Police have charged Darren GLAVIN, 40 years old, of Crediton, with the following offences under the Criminal Code:

  • Operation While Impaired – BAC 80+

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on August 21, 2025.

The OPP remains committed to removing impaired drivers from our roads through enforcement and education. Motorists are reminded that impaired driving-by alcohol or drugs-remains one of the leading causes of death on Ontario roadways.

John BAKELAAR – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after colliding with a parked car in Dorchester.

On August 2, 2025, at 2:50 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Maplewood Place in Dorchester, the Municipality of Thames Centre, for the report of a fail to remain collision.

Investigation revealed a vehicle struck a parked car and fled the scene. While police were investigating the suspect vehicle returned to the scene.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, John BAKELAAR, an 85-year-old of Dorchester, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on September 15, 2025.

Shocking Video Released Of Turtle Allegedly Murdered By Maitland River – Warning: Disturbing Images

(Wingham, North Huron) – A fisherman near the site of the former Howson Dam claims to have witnessed two children killing a turtle. The individual has submitted a video, which appears to show a child torturing and killing a turtle by the Maitland River.

Christopher EMMANOUIL – Assault Police

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing charges following a report of a suspicious individual at an industrial site.

On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to an industrial property located off Highway 17 in the Baldwin Township. The report indicated that a suspicious person was lingering near a vehicle on the property. Upon arrival, police directed the individual to leave the premises. Although they initially complied, they returned shortly after and refused to leave when instructed again. The individual was subsequently arrested.

As a result, Christopher EMMANOUIL, 47-years-old from Iroquois falls, was charged with:

  • Fail to leave premises when directed
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Assault Peace Office

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on September 8, 2025.

Justin AUMOND – Indecent Exhibition #PervertAlert

(TEMISKMAMING SHORES, ON) – A call to police reporting a person committing an indecent act leads to their arrest in Temiskaming Shores.

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at approximately 2:15 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious male in a vehicle near the community recreation area. The area was active at the time, with numerous children and families present.

As a result of the investigation, Justin AUMOND, 41 years-of-age of Notre Dame du Nord, Quebec, was arrested and charged with, indecent exhibition.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on Tuesday August 26, 2025.
