Andrew PANTLIN – Impaired Operation

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On August 11, 2025, at approximately 3:58 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a collision along Sideroad 5 Elderslie, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Police attended and observed a single vehicle collision involving a hydro pole. The investigating officer spoke to the driver and detected signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew PANTLIN, 45-years-old, of the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80 plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)

The accused is set to appear on September 10, 2025, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.

Dog Shot – Ralph BOAKE Arrested

(HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN TOWNSHIP, ON)- The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual after a report of a dog being shot.

On Sunday August 10, 2025, just prior to 11:00am, members of the OPP Peterborough County Detachment received a report of a family dog being shot by the complainant’s neighbour. Officers spoke with the complainant who advised they heard gunshots and then two of their three dogs came running home. Peterborough County OPP officers attended and after speaking with all parties, one individual was arrested.

Ralph BOAKE (age 67) of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township, ON., was arrested and charged with:

  • Killing or injuring animals

The accused is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on September 16, 2025.

17 Year Old Deceasd Following Collision

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – The Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with members of the OPP North West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team, are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and vehicle.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:43 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the intersection of Highway 11-17 and Mapleward Road.

The motorcycle driver, a 17-year-old male from Kakabeka Falls, was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. As a result of the investigation, the highway was closed in all directions but reopened shortly before 2:00 p.m.

3 Arrested For Break Enter – WHITE, LOCKER & FORBES

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin Detachment, has charged three individuals after a break and enter at a church in West Elgin.

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, at approximately 1:37 p.m., police responded to a break and enter in West Elgin. Parties left the scene in a motor vehicle and were stopped shortly afterwards.

As a result of the investigation, Samantha WHITE, a 31-year-old from Malahide was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Assault a Peace Officer
  • Resist Peace Officer and
  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Ryan LOCKER, a 31-year-old from Aylmer was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence

Nickolas FORBES, a 30-year-old from St. Thomas was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault
  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Possess a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine

The accused parties were all released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Justin SCHELL – Drunk Driving

(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON)- On Monday, August 11, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a pickup up in a ditch on Highway 129 near Feltham Road in the Municipality of Huron Shores (north of Thessalon). 

A short time later police attended the scene and while speaking to the driver police determined alcohol had been consumed. The driver was arrested and transported to Blind River detachment for further testing.

Justin SCHELL, 42 years old from Sault Ste Marie was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on September 4, 2025. The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jessica-Ann BALLAN – Impaired Driving

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On Monday, August 11, 2025, members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol on Highway 17 in the Town of Blind River.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., police observed a white pickup truck in the southbound ditch on Highway 17 near Frammpet Drive and while speaking to the driver police determined alcohol had been consumed. The driver was arrested and transported to Blind River detachment for further testing.

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Missing Person Found Deceased

(ESPANOLA, ON) – The Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has confirmed that the body recovered from the Spanish River in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township is that of a previously reported missing person from June 16, 2025.

On Monday, June 16, 2025, the Manitoulin OPP responded to a report of a missing person in the Town of Webbwood and a search was initiated involving the OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit and Aviation.

On Sunday, July 20, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Manitoulin OPP, and the OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) responded to a report of a deceased person located in the Spanish River.

This thorough investigation was conducted by the Manitoulin OPP Crime Unit, the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS), which resulted in the deceased person being identified as missing person, 50-year-old Gregory Grant.

The death has been determined to be non-suspicious and the investigation is complete.

Ryan DOCKMAN Was Arrested Again

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT LAKES, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired operation of a boat.

On Monday August 11, 2025, at approximately 3:45pm, Peterborough County OPP received a call regarding a boat being operated by someone who appeared to have open alcohol in their boat. A description of the boat and the operator was provided to police.

A Peterborough County OPP Marine Unit was patrolling Buckhorn Lake and observed the vessel. The officer spoke with the operator of the vessel and after a short period of time determined them to be under the influence of alcohol. During the conversation, it was also determined that the accused was currently serving a Conditional Sentence Order which they were in breach of.

Ryan DOCKMAN (age 43) of Selwyn, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Breach of Conditional Sentence Order

·      Having care or control of boat underway with open container of liquor

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days.

The accused was held for Bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.

Coby FLEWELLING Was Arrested

(MUNSEE-DELAWARE FIRST NATION, ON) – Disturbance results in charges.

On August 9, 2025, at 11:08 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a disturbance involving two individuals, on Middlemiss Drive, Munsee-Delaware First Nation.

The victim received minor injuries.

As a result, Coby FLEWELLING, a 21-year-old of Munsee-Delaware First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault with A Weapon
  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
  • Disobeying Order of Court

The accused was held for bail.

Northumberland Weekend Update

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have responded to a number of incidents and speeding charges are among highest in central region through the Civic Day Long Weekend.

From August 1 through August 4, 2025, the focus was on the following offences and number of charges are as follows:

–      Speeding                                                                112

–      Distracted driving                                                   1         

–      Impaired driving                                                     7

–      Fail to move over for emergency vehicles           3

The OPP are reminding motorists to slow down and make safe driving a priority. Over the Civic Day long weekend, officers observed a number of speeding incidents across our communities. Speeding puts everyone at risk including drivers, passengers, cyclists, and pedestrians. It reduces your reaction time and increases the severity of collisions.

High-Speed Motorcyclists Fail to Stop for Police

On August 8, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., OPP received a traffic complaint regarding two motorcyclists travelling at high speeds on Highway 401 eastbound at Newtownville. Officers located the vehicles shortly thereafter, but the operators failed to stop for police.

One motorcyclist was then located at the Colborne exit where they were taken into custody.

Justin DASILVA (24) from Strathroy, has been charged with:

–      Flight from peace officer

–      Careless driving

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September. The investigation remains ongoing in relation to the other motorcyclist.

Suspended Driver Flees Police

On August 7, 2025, shortly after 11:00 a.m., police attempted to stop a vehicle which was displaying an incorrect plate on County Road 25 in the Municipality of Trent Hills. The driver did not stop for OPP and following an investigation, the vehicle was located at the rear of a residence in the area.

Officers spoke to the 49-year-old male driver, from the Municipality of Trent Hills, and they were charged with:

–      Driving while under suspension

–      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

–      Fail to stop for police

–      Use plate not authorised for vehicle

–      Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner

Suspended Driver Found with Ammunition

On August 10, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., OPP were conducting patrol on County Road 30 in the Municipality of Brighton when the in cruiser Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) alerted the officer to a suspended driver. The passenger vehicle was subsequently stopped. The individual was confirmed to be prohibited and a search of the vehicle yielded a quantity of rifle ammunition.

Ryan TANNER (46) from the Municipality of Brighton, has been charged with:

–      Driving while prohibited

–      Unauthorised possession of ammunition

–      Careless storage of ammunition

The accused had their vehicle impounded for 45 days and is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in October.

Theft and Dangerous Driving in Alnwick/Haldimand

On August 5, 2025, shortly before 12:30 p.m., police responded to a theft from a commercial premises on County Road 45 in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand. The individual was alleged to have driven a car at the complainant while leaving the location at speed.

An investigation into the matter began and the person turned themselves into a local detachment later that day.

Nnamdi IHEJIAWUNZE (19) from Cobourg, has been arrested and charged with:

–      Theft under $5,000

–      Dangerous operation

The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September.

Impaired and Prohibited Driver in Brighton

On August 4, 2025, at around 5:30 p.m., OPP received a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver on Main Street in the Municipality of Brighton. A vehicle description was provided, and officers later located the vehicle on County Road 2 in Quinte West.

Following a traffic stop, officers entered into an impaired operation investigation and through investigation, the person was also found to be prohibited from driving.

Brian CASSIBO (19) from the Municipality of Brighton, was arrested and charged with:

–      Operation while prohibited

–      Novice driver – B.A.C above zero

–      Fail to surrender insurance card

–      Drive motor vehicle, plate improperly displayed

–      Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver.

The accused had their vehicle impounded for 45 days and is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.

Impaired Driver Found on Highway 401 Shoulder

On August 3, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., police located a passenger vehicle parked on the shoulder of the Highway 401 on-ramp at Cobourg. Upon interacting with the single occupant, OPP entered into an impaired operation investigation and the individual was arrested and transported to a local detachment.

Oneil DOUGLAS (35) from Peterborough, has been charged with:

–      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

–      Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

In addition to a future court date in September, the accused had their licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Single-Vehicle Collision Leads to Impaired Charges

On August 8, 2025, at around 7:20 p.m. OPP responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Dale Road in the Municipality of Port Hope. Officers arrived and located the damaged passenger vehicle off the roadway. Both occupants were uninjured and following speaking to the driver, police entered into an impaired operation investigation. The individual was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further tests.

Alan TANNER (38) from Port Hope, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

In addition to a future court date in September, the accused had their licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days.

If you know or suspect that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, call 9-1-1. In doing so, you may save a life. Whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired and driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence. If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.

Jeff MUSTOE – Drunk Driving

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one driver as a result of a traffic stop.

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Renfrew OPP completed a traffic stop as a result of a positive hit on the Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) device showing that the registered owner of the vehicle was suspended.

During the stop, the officer had suspicion that the driver had consumed alcohol. A roadside test was conducted in which resulted in a fail.

As a result of the investigation, Jeff MUSTOE age 49 of Barrie was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired- alcohol

·      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Driving while under suspension

This was the third time the accused was charged with impaired driving charges in six months.

The accused was held for bail.

The accused had their driver’s licence re-suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jonathan DAVIS Was Arrested Again

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person following an incident at a meeting facility in the Town of Bancroft.

On August 11, 2025, shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of an unwanted person at a business on Bridge Street West. It was reported that a male attended a function, appeared intoxicated, was verbally aggressive toward staff and members, and repeatedly disrupted proceedings. Staff reported that the behaviour caused them to fear for their safety.

The investigation determined that the accused was bound by two active probation orders with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

As a result, Jonathan DAVIS, 47 years old, of No Fixed Address in Bancroft, has been charged with:

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order – two counts – contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

Rino Minaudo – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation while investigating a single vehicle collision.

On Sunday August 10, 2025 at approximately 11:40 pm, officers were notified of a single vehicle collision on Little Britain Road. Upon arriving on scene officers entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code and Cannabis Control Act offences.

Rino Minaudo, 27-year-old of Markham, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
  • Have Care or Control of Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Jovain Wilson – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation while conducting a RIDE program early Sunday morning.

On Sunday August 10, 2025 at approximately 2 am, officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 35 near Golf Course Road. A driver entered the RIDE program and an investigation into impaired driving commenced. The driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code and Cannabis Control Act offences.

Jovain Wilson, 37-year-old of Norwood, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
  • Have Care of Control of Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Kristine WALKER – Threats

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- A disturbance at a local clinic prompted a police response in the City of Elliot Lake.

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance at a clinic on Ontario Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers learned that an individual had become verbally abusive toward staff and refused to leave the premises when directed to do so.

During their interaction with police, the individual made threatening comments, indicating intent to harm the complainant and the complainant’s children. While attempting to effect the arrest, officers were met with resistance, leading to a brief struggle.

As a result, Kristine WALKER, 44 years-old, from Elliot Lake was charged with:

·      Uttering threats-cause death or bodily harm

·      Resist peace officer

·      Fail to leave premises when directed

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on September 11, 2025.
