“I’m Terrified Trump’s a Terrorist” Released in Wake of Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert Silencing

(Wingham, ON) — A newly released protest song is drawing attention for its blunt lyrics and provocative message, questioning whether it is illegal to question if former President Donald Trump is a terrorist.

The track, titled “I’m Terrified Trump’s a Terrorist,” by Wingham Wakening, describes a nation living in fear amid restrictions on free speech. The song’s refrain — “I’m terrified that Trump’s a terrorist” — is repeated throughout, with verses referencing late-night hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert being forced off the air.

The song’s writers say a terrorist is someone who causes people to live in terror, and they argue that Trump’s actions against media voices and public criticism have left Americans silenced.

The release was inspired by the words of President John F. Kennedy, who told newspaper publishers in 1961: “Without debate, without criticism, no Administration and no country can succeed — and no republic can survive.” Another line from the same speech noted: “No Administration should fear scrutiny, for from that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition. And both are necessary.”

The track blends political commentary with heavy percussion and crowd chants such as “Freedom over fear” and “Truth is resistance.” Its closing warning — “Don’t share this online, or Trump might make you dead” — underscores the song’s theme of fear and self-censorship.

Legal experts note that under the First Amendment, even harsh criticism of political figures is protected speech. But the song’s stark language has fueled debate about whether cultural and broadcast restrictions, rather than laws, are shaping what Americans feel free to say.

Police Seize All “Weapons” From Home Claiming Resident Touched/Brandished A Replica #PoliceGoneMental

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a local resident criminally with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

On September 8, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Wellington County OPP, alongside the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit, attended a home in Fergus to assist a neighbouring police service in arresting an individual on their behalf.

Upon arrival, the individual temporarily barricaded themselves inside their residence and brandished a replica sword to police. The accused eventually surrendered without incident and was cooperative with police. For public safety, the replica swords, a replica gun (air gun) and knives were seized from the scene.

The individual was then brought to local hospital for assessment.

On September 17, 2025, when the individual was released from hospital, they were then arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph on October 21, 2025.

The accused’s name is being withheld, out of concern for their well being.

The OPP would like to remind the public that the use of replica weapons to commit crimes can lead to serious consequences because they’re considered to be weapons under the Criminal Code if they’re to threaten, intimidate or commit an offence. Anyone who uses a replica weapon to commit a crime could face the same penalties under the Criminal Code as someone who uses a regular weapon.

OPP Kills First, Explains Later – Red Rock Incident Update

(RED ROCK, ON) – On 10 September 2025 at approximately 11:30pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nipigon Detachment, responded to reports of an aggressive bear in the Brompton Road area. The bear had reportedly charged at and growled at residents, causing concern for public safety. Despite efforts to deter the animal, it could not be safely scared away or relocated.

Before taking action to destroy any animal, OPP officers assess the threat to public safety, the feasibility of relocation, and the ability to carry out the intervention safely within a residential setting. In this case, due to the immediate risk posed and the inability to safely relocate the bear, officers were required to dispatch the animal.

With the cooler temperatures approaching, fall time is an important time to be aware of bears. There have been many sightings recently as bears are starting to bulk up for winter. With bears preparing for winter hibernation, fall is when people need to be the most aware. Bears tend to find their way into residential areas this time of year in search of food.

Individuals are reminded to use extreme caution when encountering bears and other wildlife. For information on how to prevent and report encounters with black bears, contact the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry or visit https://www.ontario.ca/page/bear-wise-tips-and-tools

Not every bear sighting is an emergency, here is who to call if you encounter a bear.

Non-Emergency Encounters

Call the toll-free Bear Wise reporting line at 1-866-514-2327 (TTY 705-945-7641) if a bear is:

  • Roaming around, checking garbage cans
  • Breaking into a shed where garbage or food is stored
  • In a tree
  • Pulling down a bird feeder or knocking over a barbecue

For Emergency Situations

Call 911 if a bear poses an immediate threat to personal safety by exhibiting threatening or aggressive behavior, such as:

  • Entering a school yard when school is in session
  • Stalking people and lingering on-site
  • Entering or trying to enter a residence
  • Wandering into a public gathering
  • Killing livestock/pets and lingering on site.

The Nipigon OPP would also like to provide some safety tips:

  • Never feed or approach bears
  • Secure food, garbage and recycling
  • Remove bird feeder when bears are active
  • Never leave pet food outdoors
  • Clean and Store BBQ grills and smokers
  • Alert neighbors to bear activity
