(CHAPLEAU, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Chapleau Detachment advises that Highway 101 east of Chapleau to Timmins is closed due to two washouts.

The washouts are located at Black Creek and Moonshine Creek.
The O.P.P. will distribute details and updates of the road advisory as information becomes available.

(Hwy# 62 Belleville, ON) – On May 8, 2014 at 10:40 a.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway # 62 at Frankford Road in the City of Belleville. The investigation revealed an eastbound pickup truck crossed the highway from Frankford Road and struck a car travelling south on Highway #62.

As a result the pickup truck driver, a 57 year old Frankford, ON man was charged with Fail to Yield to Yield to Traffic on Through Highway, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal collision on Highway 401 westbound just west of Dorchester Road in the Municipality of Thames Centre. The collision involving a transport truck and a car occurred at approximately 6:16 a.m. As a result of the collision, police have closed all westbound lanes and traffic is being redirected off the highway at Dorchester Road.

Police are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and are asking motorists to find an alternate route.

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Thursday May 8, 2014 just before midnight Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified that a patient had gone missing from Huntsville and District Memorial Hospital sight. The OPP are concerned for his well-being and are seeking the public’s help in locating this male.

Michael J PINCH (42yrs) was located just after 6:00am on Meadow Park Dr. in the town of Huntsville

Huntsville OPP would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating this missing male.

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Thursday May 8, 2014 just before midnight Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified that a patient had gone missing from Huntsville and District Memorial Hospital sight on Frank Miller Dr. The OPP are concerned for his well-being and are seeking the public’s help in locating this male.

Michael J PINCH (42yrs) of North Bay Ontario was last seen in the area of King William Street and Scott Street in the town of Huntsville. He is described as 6 feet tall, 180lbs, dark hair, full goatee mustache and facial hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue hospital gown and hospital booties.

The OPP Canine along with Emergency Response Team (ERT) are in the area in hopes of locating the missing person. The OPP will also be utilizing the helicopter in assisting with the search.

If anyone should see Mr. Finch is asked to immediately contact the OPP.

(Kemptville, ON.) – Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 22 year old male in relation to a robbery at a Kemptville convenience store.

On May 7th shortly before 10:00 p.m. a male entered the Quickie Convenience Store on Rideau Street wearing a bandana over his face. The male placed a bag on the counter indicating he wanted something. The male left empty handed and the police were called.

The O.P.P. Canine Unit and the O.P.P. Identification Unit attended the scene. Upon investigation it was determined that suspect could be located at a Kemptville residence. Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on May 8th, the O.P.P. Emergency Response Team attended 211 Dodson Street. The suspect was located and arrested in the residence.

Luke Duerksen, age 22 of Ottawa was charged with disguise with intent, robbery, fail to comply with a recognizance and two counts of fail to comply with a probation order. The accused appeared in Brockville Court and was remanded in custody until a bail hearing on May 16th, 2014.
