(GODERICH, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid numerous criminal charges against a Goderich resident as a result of a sexual assault investigation that commenced this past weekend.
On Saturday, May 23, 2020 at approximately 12:44 a.m. Huron OPP members responded to a Gibbons Street residence to assist a victim that had dialed 9-1-1.
Ultimately the accused was arrested and taken into custody. A comprehensive investigation has resulted in numerous charges being laid against the accused.
A 30-year-old Goderich resident has been charged with the following offences:
Sexual Assault - Five counts
Sexual Assault with a Weapon
Forcible Confinement
Overcome Resistance by Administering a Drug - 11 counts
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich at a later date to answer to the charges.
