(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) � An individual was charged following an investigation into a shoplifting incident.

At approximately 12:41 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a theft at an address on Queensway East in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that an individual entered a business, concealed a quantity of alcohol on their person, and attempted to leave without paying.

The responding officers located the individual inside the premises and took them into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 56-year-old William HARRIS of Oxford County:

Theft under $5,000 � shoplifting.
The accused was detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.
