Suspended Driver From Harriston Caught Again

(MONKTON, ON) - On October 7, 2019, a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), North Perth detachment was on patrol for the "Big Four". This focused patrol consists of reducing alcohol or drug impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, and those who fail to use seatbelts. An officer observed a vehicle travelling on Road 164, north of Monkton and conducted a traffic stop to speak with the driver.

Further investigation revealed that the driver was currently suspended from driving.

Michael PHILLIPS, 52-years-old, of Harriston was arrested and charged with driving while under suspension, drive a motor vehicle with no currently validated permit and speeding.

The driver is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on November 26, 2019 to answer the charges.

The vehicle was towed and impounded as per statute.
