Methamphetamine Bust At RIDE - DOIG

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) - On August 12, 2019 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Gore Road near Cambridge. At approximately 10:00 p.m. the driver of a black pickup truck entered the R.I.D.E. check.
Investigation revealed that the driver was suspended after the driver was unable to provide a registration for the vehicle or proof of insurance. Further investigation revealed that plates attached to the vehicle were stolen as were the validation stickers attached to those plates. Officers then located a quantity of crystal meth in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, Rachel Rebecca DOIG, 29-years-old of Cambridge has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine), Theft Under $5000, two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Operating a Vehicle without Insurance, Suspended Driving, Failing to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle, and Using Unauthorized Plates. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on September 17, 2019.
